- Every year on and around May 15th, Madrid honors its patron saint, San Isidro Labrador. There are many events like concerts, shows and an endless range of activities for all ages. Tradition meets modernity in the week-long festivities that see Madrileños dress up and dance chotis in the streets and enjoy picnics with friends and family in the Pradera de San Isidro Park. Let me take you to the Park and show you what's going on inside including food tasting.

I liked the nice variety of food. And a big pitcher of tinto de verano for 12 euros seemed like a bargain to me. You mother seemed to enjoy herself. Question: it seems that you have been in Spain for many months, well beyond the 90 day limit for US passport holders. How are you able to do this?
It was a great deal the Sangria. My parents both loved the Festival. I have a Spanish Visa Brad.

The presenter could have talked about the background of the Festival - why the festival is celebrated, about the patron saint of Madrid (San Isidro) , about the unique cultural features of the festival - the Chulapos and Chulapas (both the dance and the dress). In fact he passed someone who was dressed in a traditional Chulapa and he didn't say anything about it. What a bore!

Sevilla, Granada, Valencia, Ronda, Cadiz. But it's so hard to choose, I like so many. Those stood out for me.
