I agree totally. I don’t think the extinct one should be brought back anyway as humans will just watch them die out aswell as more species. The main reason is habitat loss so where would they live? A Siberian Unicorn in captivity? That’s just wrong 😑.

When they say "pretty recently" they mean in geologic terms. Recently enough for DNA to survive in some conditions. Relatively speaking animals that went extinct 10,000 years ago are recent when you're comparing it to dinosaurs that died out 66,000,000 years ago.
Even thouh we bring them back, there 90 % chance they can be extinct again.. 🤷🤦🤦 i feel it would be better to focus on how to save the animals present on the earth. 🤔
They’ve only been able to successfully bring back 1 species of animal and it was a type of goat, unfortunately it died about 7 minutes after it’s birth, making it extinct again. I think this happened in the early to mid 2000’s so back then they didn’t have all the more advanced research they do now(research that could potentially keep the species alive)

The similarities between human DNA and that of a banana occurs because we are both carbon based lifeforms with a limited number of amino acids. Just because those those amino acids arranged themselves into similar genes doesn’t make humans related to fruit.

@Gentleman Raptor I just posed a couple of questions about the subject, I was not making an argument. Are we supposed to keep all woolly mammoths in captivity like polar bears? The earth is warming now and their coats perhaps are too thick for today's climate. Also if there is already scarce resources for the animals we have now, how will this effect the environment? They will be introducing new species to the wild that may reduce/increase the population of another species substantially. I just think more thought should be given.

The similarities between human DNA and that of a banana occurs because we are both carbon based lifeforms with a limited number of amino acids. Just because those those amino acids arranged themselves into similar genes doesn’t make humans related to fruit.

Are we supposed to keep all woolly mammoths in captivity like polar bears? The earth is warming now and their coats perhaps are too thick for today's climate.
Also if there is already scarce resources for the animals we have now, how will this effect the environment? They will be introducing new species to the wild that may reduce/increase the population of another species substantially.
I just think more thought should be given.
