    For anyone who was born yesterday, always, ALWAYS check the description of these videos before considering the information.
    Case in point (and you see this a lot nowadays), there’s a link here with a coupon for the kast king reel which means that even if it isn’t directly sponsored, the poster is only going to benefit from you buying one of these reels.
    I don’t care who it is or how honest they are, it’s not a review or an instructional, it’s an infomercial....period. No matter how you try to jive it off...trust me, I’ve done them before.
    Only consider comparisons in videos who have nothing to gain or lose from the information they’re presenting you.

      Dan Ray
      Yup, there it is. I don’t mind people hawking their stuff. I don’t mind commercials or whatever, it’s fine. But when it’s framed as an objective comparison, that bothers me. Especially when people start talking about things like “ball bearings counts = smoothness” and all that noise.

    I'm a shimano guy as well. However I do own some KK. Here's my take on this. When you compare these(KK) to your typical $40-$50 reels out there, there is NO comparison. It's a no brainer on which reel to choose. I can't sit here and say either one is bad bc I've had no issues with the KK. these reels are perfect for your budget friendly fisherman looking to start adding 4-5 more reels to there arsenal. Either way you can't go wrong. (And in no way am I being payed or anything to say one thing or another)

      Same here been using Shimano for almost 30 years it's been my favorite fishing reel brand hands down I'm just tired of paying the price for them! A few years back I purchased a couple of Okuma spinning reels for like 35 bucks each because I love the way they looked and heard nothing but good things about them 5 years of hard use later I gave them away to a teenage kid still in perfect working condition! I had never even oiled then that's when I realized China is not making Just Junk anymore! I now own 3 cast Kings the stealth the white Max and Royal Legend Elite red so far I'm totally happy with them. I guess what I'm saying is... we'll see you around Shimano...?

    My only problem with this review is you just pulled the kast king reel out of the box and compared it just by what the kast king has on paper. And that’s not nearly as important as taking it on the water and testing it and putting it through it’s paces

  • @Kigai11

    People posting negative opinions about kastking being junk, if you dont own both reels or haven't atleast tried the kastking reel to see if it is junk then you have no say in this so just shut your pie hole until you have proof, and yes I own both and there is nothing wrong with any of the kastking reels I own and I'm not an affiliate just someone that likes to fish and sometimes on a budget.

    It not the number of bearings that matter but where they are in the reel. The casitis has three quality bearings in the axle of the spool which give it a ridiculously long free spool. Six bearings in the handle doesn't help with casting. Also the dial is designed in such a way as to make it hard to accidentally change the setting as their are no hard stops on the dial to allow for the infinity adjustment, and the drag star is graphite. Also the drag disks are basically the same as with most decent reels, their both carbon drags.

    • @BJJandBS

      exactly. BUT these reels are for newbies who don't know much. The Casitas will be around in 10yrs. The Kast King will be in the trash for about 8yrs before that.

    Im a fan of both name brands, in fact I have both reels as well. LOVE THEM!! But got to be honest by my own experience and say that the Spartacus became my favorite one, the Cork handle knobs are incredibly comfortable and The handle is 94mm versus 90mm for the Casitas, big difference for me. Paid almost $100 for the Casitas and paid....wait for it.... only $34.49 for the Spartacus, that’s a ridiculous price for such great reel. Great Video and also great comparison between them. Tight Lines!!

    The way I look at it is, from my experience and from what I have seen/heard, KK products are worth way more than they actually cost. Their spinning reels are actually insane for what they cost. In my opinion, KK is a brand of the future. Huge fan. However, I've never had a better bait-caster than my Shimano CuradoHG. It's all a matter of opinion. Both great reels, but I've got my money on Shimano when it comes to bait-casters.

    Comparing new reels is easy. Try to honestly compare just after 6 months - all those "11bb. sealed etc." bs will show up in form of broken drags, extra noise etc. My 20yo Shimano baitrunner 4500 is still working well, and all cheap reels I bought at the same time are long, long gone!
    KatKing reel brand is famous for fast deterioration of their products - that's the hard fact.

  • @airsoftismything
    @airsoftismything 5 лет назад +1

    Have both reels. Casitas is much better tbh. Just actually bought the kast king today and took both of them out. The kast king is much heavier and wasn’t as comfortable as the casitas. But for 40 bucks it’s definitely worth it. Took me a while to finally adjust it to cast it without bird nest unlike the casitas only two to three cast and I had it set up and ready already.

    how more bearings will make reel cast farther? all baitcasting reel spools sit on 2 bearings, some of them have third one on spool which its kinda a necessary and dont make any big diffirence. and why u didint mention that casitas have lighter spool that is huge when casting far and light lures btw casitas will last u very long with proper care how bout kastking?

    The arguments in this comment section is like reading about who has the better boat comments on many fishing blogs. My Lund is the best, your Alumacraft sucks. My Lowe is better than your Tracker, my Tracker is better than your G5 etc etc etc. Hey, if it works for someone great. Their opinion is as good as anyone else's. I have 30 yr old Shimanio Bantams, Lews Speedspools, Mitchell 500's and they are great reels but the internals are more complicated than the modern reels. I also have 3 Kast King baitcasters, 2 Royal Legends, and a Spartacus. They, again in my opinion, are very nice reels for the price. I just retired my Shimano Bantam classic limited edition and replaced it with a Royal Legend. It started to have issues since its about 40 yrs old. The internals, again, are much more complicated than the newer KK reels. Nothing bad to say about the Shimano that now sits in a place of honor in the den, but I also have nothing bad to say about the KK reel that replaced it. I hit the water a lot and the reels get a good workout thru the year and right now the KK reels are getting most of the use. Much lighter and they are smooth but time will tell. Will they last 30/40 years? Don't know and I'm most likely not gonna be around that long but for now I'm happy with my choice. As a side note, my Alumacraft is better than your boat!

      I’ve used mine on the salt! I recommend one this. Re lube all bearings. Take the tensioning know off out a drop in there. Take the side plate off and put a drop in the side plate bearing. And one more in the bearing that come in contact with the spool arm on the opposite side of the side plate. I did that just because I feel like all reels out of the factory don’t always get greased the best. So I do that to be safe especially on the salt!

    • @rakitakhan
      @rakitakhan 6 лет назад

      I agree, the Shimano breaking system is tried and true. It's been around for a while. I still have a 20 yr old Curado that's just as smooth as the day I bought it. He shouldn't down the Shimano system at all just because he doesn't know how to use it. I just tried a KastKing Spartacus this week. It's not even close to any Shimano I've had. Maybe he should learn a bit more before trying to put up a fair reel review and comparison.

    I own a couple KK reels and I like them. But in no way would I ever say they were better than or equal to my Shimano reels. I own the KK Spartacus not the plus. Its done its job and still holding up. I also have the KK Mela spinning reel. I had a KK Stealth but it got stolen. KK makes good inexpensive reels. They are especially good for people trying a bait caster for the first time. Just stay away from the Stealth I think you need to have more advanced skills in bait casting to not get birds nest. Reel is fast and has a super light spool. So you have to dial it in to get the best performance out of it. The Stealth is my favorite of the bunch. So for Budget conscious anglers you cant beat KASTKING.

See Shimano and Daiwa. I also found it interesting how you say the casting is better without using it on water. I’m all for objectivity but this video was not even close.

    "when you take that little door off" lol listen, i love KK. I have the stealth, speed demon, royale legend, and spartacus (for inshore) in baitcast (along with other spinning reels) however, none of those reels compare with my casitas or my old green machine curado bantam. KK is great for the budget fisherman.. but the reality is, you're getting better quality with shimano. i'm not saying don't buy KK. I'm just saying, at some point you graduate from KK and upgrade. That's what I'm doing now. KK is great for beginners who need to be careful taking off the little door. but after a while you grow out of KK.

      Just reading off numbers. Not sayig its a bad reel but they exaggerate the numbers and put bearings in places that don't matter. .the Shimano breaks are gonna be better also

    These Kast King reviews are pure nonsense. Hopefully people can see that these guys are all affiliates and marketing. This will be the demise of Kast King. Its the same product as like 20 other Chinese crap just different branding. Look it up. Alibaba Reels.
