I can see it for movies withe lots of special effects but it’s gimmicky and a big no for me for music. When I see a band play, the music is in front of me….the guitarist, for example is not behind and above my left ear. Unrealistic at best and disorienting at worst.
Sorry to say... Not sure I got the point about this video. Not clear about what's different from all the dolby surround formats we've been dealing with ever since Pro Logic came into play... Mixing lots of info about speakers vs headphones, binaural vs multi-channel, etc. If the point was to say that immersive audio rules... Then sure! Home theater enthusiasts have been in the know for the past 35+ years.
This video was meant to introduce the uninitiated into our world. I understand for guys like you this video is elementary, however there are many out there that have never experienced it.
I see how passionate you are about sound Unless you already know about him, I urge you to check out the work that the Princeton professor Edgar Choueiri has done in that field and has already translated into practical aspects You will be fascinated
I hope that consumers that prefer audio with accuracy won't be affected since spatial audio is something that the tech companies want for there customers into in order to make money off of it and some customers prefer spatial audio instead of sticking to what the artist originally intended. I actually enjoy the audio fidelity that I receive from a pair of studio monitors especially when I can hear the details in the audio even the flaws in the audio when they were being mixed and mastered whether they were done properly or poorly. There's something immersive with tracks that were mixed and mastered properly either for music, movies and even video games. I use a pair of yamaha hs50m studio monitors for my 2 channel pcm stereo home theater system. I wish there was an option for at least thx deep note like george lucas star wars thx level of audio fidelity as a viable option. For headphones, I use the sennheiser hd 600 the marble version and I prefer the neutral accurate sound with the sennheiser hd 600 with the warm intimate vocals when listening to music and even playing video games.
LOL, perfect timing; Michael is talking about spatial audio just as I ordered my first mono-ribbon-microphone recorded CD (in all fairness, it was the _only_ recording this band has issued outside of a very small handful of live performance videos here, so needs must...)
I want an IEM like this, do you know any, please?

I agree, as I said near the end of the video, the music side is not really my taste.
Nowadays, I always listen to the Dolby Atmos mixes of new albums since they tend to have great dynamic range compared to the stereo counterparts.
Am i the only one who don't use that mode because it losses the sound quality?. I am talking about airpods not speaker
Beats is owned by apple if you didnt know.
Did you watch the video? I mentioned it
@@audioarkitekts yes. Must have missed it 😅
