Avian Block is EPA registered and is a humane method of bird control. It does not harm birds, people, pets or animals. It is a perfect solution for Hard-to-Treat areas where traditional bird control products are difficult or cannot be used.
How does Avian Block work so well? Avian Block uses a bird aversion ingredient called Methyl Anthranilate (MA). Methyl Anthranilate is a food-grade ingredient that has a fruity grape smell. This ingredient is often used as a grape flavoring agent in food grade products such as candy and soft drinks.
While pleasant to people, MA mildly irritates the bird’s trigeminal nerve, eyes, beak and throat. Birds are irritated by the scent of MA effectively, humanely and quickly repelling them from the area of coverage.
Where can you use Avian Block? You can easily install on signs, storefronts, trees, vineyards, Outdoor Dining and Lunch Areas, picnic and patio areas, eaves, walkways, and covers. It can also be used in many Commercial areas such as warehouses, loading docks, storage sheds, AC/HVAC units and more! Avian Block is perfect for hard to treat areas.
Installation is simple. Each pouch covers up to 1,000 cubic feet (10’ x 10’ x 10’). You can hang individual pouches on a hook in close proximity to the bird activity. It can be secured with zip ties to trees and structures. Increasing coverage is as simple as placing an additional pouch in the area. To identify pouch spacing, first identify Bird Pressure.
What is Bird Pressure? Light Bird Pressure means there are a small number of birds occasionally in the area. Medium Bird Pressure means there is a medium consistent population of birds in the area on a daily basis. Finally, a Heavy Bird Pressure situation means there is a large population of birds on a daily basis, most likely nesting in or around the site.
Pouch Spacing: Light to Medium Bird Pressure space pouches 8-10 ft. apart. Heavy Bird Pressure space pouches 6ft or less in distance apart.
How long does each pouch last? Avian Block Pouches have an effective life span of up to 3 months depending on temperature, humidity, sun and rain exposure.
*Caution: Not for use in areas where threatened or endangered birds may be present. Do not apply directly to water, such as lakes, reservoirs, ponds, streams, and canals.
Each unit of Avian Block comes packages in a cloth, palm-sized drawstring pouch. It is sold per bag with 6 pouches per bag. Store in original packaging in a dry place inaccessible to children, pets, and domestic animals. Store apart from pesticides, fertilizers, food or feed. As this product is scented, store in a secondary airtight container.
