Thanks for this .. I have tree which I have been training around the front of my house in Windsor in the UK for several years .. I just liked the colour of the leaves as they change over the season and only just realised the fruit is edible .. the tree is covered in fruit at the moment so going to do some experimenting next weekend

THANK YOU! This is indeed the first video I’ve seen of how to grind the berries!
And believe it or not, I have staghorn sumac on my terrace in Manhattan! I’ve made tea every summer.

I don't throw the berries right away. Since they still have some spice on them, I use them to make sumac lemonade. I wrap them in a coffee filter teabag like pouch, and then infuse them in water.

Thank you! I collected some last year but didn’t know how to separate the sumac spice from the seeds.

Prior to using the sifter/sieve, would a mortar and pestal work to pulverize the berries or would that not produce the same result? Thanks.

If you have a bigger mortar and pedestal that would work too before going through the sieve! Ours is pretty small so this method worked the best for us and probably most folks.

@@g2outdooradventures4 This is available at Walmart : IMUSA Heavy Duty 8" Granite Molcajete Mortar and Pestle. Use to be under $20 but now thanks to politics it is about $25 (and they tell us there is no inflation.)

You don't shave you face , and that's fine.
But why did you shave your arms and legs?

LOL that's actually funny that you say that. My wife says I'm like Sasquach without a shirt on! My hair bleaches out from the sun
