duuude i used to watch you religiously when i had my spinal fusion back in 2016 and i’ve been dying trying to find this channel ever since the memory came back recently 😭😭 i’ve loved the chill vlogs you always give. thanks for being here man 🫶🏼
Absolutely love this parkour stuff john!!! Keep making more of this content I want to see your progression. It makes sense too like you have already mastered skateboarding… doing parkour is SOOO next level keep it up!!👍
I'm just getting back into parkour at 34 after about 12 years of not doing it. I would suggest you be real careful with the pains you are feeling. If you ignore that and train through it, it is easy to get overuse injuries, but if you let it heal fully, you will just get stronger. I have to be really really careful to not push myself with too much impact or my lower back starts getting messed up. Like I can still do a 9 foot precision jump, but if I do too many I will start hurting. So I am trying to get a ton of small reps (like 5-6 foot precisions) to build up my impact resistance. You probably already have a lot more impact resistance in your lower body than me because of skateboarding, but it's still something to watch. Having proper rest is one of the most important aspects of progression.
Ive been watching you forever and never skated in my life, ive always done parkour though (10+ years) and now you casually name drop nate weston 😂 this is great!!
Love the progress! One tip I have for tricking and flips would be to take your shoes off, especially for the flips you are struggling with. No shoes makes it much easier
Yoooo tight! Thanks for bringing more content to parkour I really appreciate it as a small channel it tells me there are still people who want to see the stuff we are doing. Good stuff John would love to train sometime and learn some skate stuff too
P.s. As a skater i'm sure you appreciate trick names. The "dash thing" vault at 4:25 is a speed step. They're super versatile and great at speed (hence the name) - i would say try get speed step stride pre on that wall as a challenge. Keep it up, you're gonna be beastly in no time 👌
I hope that everyone has an amazing and memorable rest of the year and safe travels, vacations, work, adventures, gaming, skateboarding, filming and Livestreams throughout the years. 🍀♾️❤️🔥
That amount of training sound like high chance for overuse injuries. Make sure you sleep alot (I try to get 9-10h if I'm training hard) and do relaxing activities. Awesome seeing your quick progression in parkour. I would love seeing a collab with someone and maybe try a game of stick with them. Keep killing it❤
Ayy lets go this is sick bro! Something that might help you out with your side flip that helped me out is trying to keep your feet close together and lean back for the punch. Buy yea u are getting good, keep it up🔥
I feel like when I see people really send a flip out of a roundoff or back handspring they enter the round off or back handspring fast and just maintain their momentum from that, so the power comes from the runup and from their legs. It looks like you're entering the roundoff slower and trying to accelerate coming off your hands, making it so the power is all coming from the jump, which starts at a deeper squat, and your back. If its anything like high jump, you want your second to last step to be a little low and elongated and the last should be on the ground for as little time as possible to convert as much of the movement energy into a jump and a rotation. You might try to keep bent elbows during the round off to stay lower and make it easier to send the momentum upwards coming off your feet.
This is dope man, been watching you for a while so sick to see you branching off into new things. Have you ever tried wake surfing or water skiing I’d be curious to see how you do with the skating background. Keep it up.
As someone who has tore my mcl/meniscus, I’m getting anxiety!! I used to love skateboarding everyday until then. I hope your knees/feet stay safe and don’t tear anything doing this!

You should try 180 backflip rotating the opposite way
I also think you could get backflip off the angled wall after running up pretty easily
as a 10 year parkour athlete, I love watching you learn all this sport
I live in the area and I’m an ex-gymnast, I’ve never been to tempest but I’ve had friends say I should try it out. Love the content 🤘🏻

Honestly, I'm a skater so skating brought me to your channel but after almost a decade of tuning in to "John Hill" I'm here for ANYTHING you post. ❤
11:56 sounds like an aerial bombing
i love this overall fitness story arc
still waiting for you to start tricking. please try some hook and round stuff while you got the spring floor, maybe try a b kick.

Good video
Try rock climbing!!
Trueee! I think he would love the whole problem solving aspect of it all
Yaaaa! He would love the challenge and problem of it all
love this
Love to see it
Try getting into the habit of swinging your arms up all the way. You already have very good height but doing so will give you a lot more :)
so far I like it but maybe a light background music during the parkour parts? feels like i’m a fly on the wall. nothing bad just feels so quiet
Obvious 80s vibes be some sad egg plants off the horses
Very awesome
I love you videos
