- Tests of the Emergency Alert System are very important to ensure the success and reliability of the system stay in check. Required Monthly Tests are conducted statewide and citywide in cities made up of several counties. National Periodic Tests are done across the United States.

That is NOT from 2010. For starters, the Spongebob episode is from the post sequel era just from the animation alone, and the EAS would not be that distorted.

I remember the 2021 national periodic test. I got it by accident in the car, I was dropping off my brother and my friend somewhere. When I drove back home, I heard it go off in the car and completely forgot that the test was on that day. I jumped when I heard it at first, but nothing bad happened either. It worked like it should've so that's a good sign for my dad's car!

...2010 should not have sounded like that. i am genuinely hoping that the Nickelodeon station for that area got fined heavily for that, because something went horribly wrong and that's a BIG issue when it comes to EAS.

Wether if the 2010 EAS Test is real or not, the way that the audio got distorted made the already scary test’s nightmare fuel level turn past 11, if I saw that if I was younger, I would probably think that aliens were sending a message that they were going to attack us or something.

I hate these test they scare me so much in the middle of the night
Once you watch a bunch of them, they become less scary. It’s funny, as a kid, I used to run away from the TV and hide when there was an EAS test. But they test the system so it stays maintained. It’s important to warn people in actual emergencies.

Sometimes I feel like they shouldn’t put the eas on children’s channels, well atleaste for tests and amber alerts. They just seem useless and scary for kids.
They aren’t useless. Amber alerts almost guarantee finding an abducted child who may be in danger.

so yesterday i saw a emergency periodic test or it was the day before yesterday on my grandmas tv, since we came to visit there but like i dont understand it,, and it was blue and the text was white, it was just like a still photo. that was the first time i’ve ever seen it since for 7 years i never saw it, or now about 10 years.
We barely ever see emergency alerts on my grandmas tv anymore. Not since 2017.

Fake, plus another eas alarm that basically sounds like the one you heard was the tornado warning. Everything is pitched down with the recording from the person's phone.
