Do you know if one can fix the ugly inside of the foundation seen on the stairs in the part between main floor and the basement? It's all just white "walls" merged to the stairs edges, that I can't edit or remove. I would prefer if it was like air instead.
ok, nvm, just do this: 1. build your house on platform 2. build the basement where you want it to be 3. put stairs 4. select the basement "room" 5. raise the basement just like you would raise a whole house (with the arrows in the middle of the room) 6. ugly grey walls are gone and the basement actually starts directly under the floor of the house :)
I'm having an issue where I'm building an open air basement courtyard. When I enclose the top of the courtyard with a fence, it builds the floor over the top of the courtyard. When I remove the floor, the portion of the foundation inside the enclosure disappears, just leaving an open space between the basement walls and the first floor. I don't know how to make it not do this, other than leaving a gap in the fence so that it isn't fully enclosed, which is annoying to me.
At least some people can actually build a raised foundation with stairs going to a basement I've been trying to fix this problem for my girlfriend everytime one is built the foundation around the stairs goes like 3 tiles higher then the foundation height that she wants. This game is a broken piece of shit not to mention the roof placing system.
i keep trying to build houses on foundations that have basements & the staircase walls are the nasty default grey colour & i cant paint over it. im so frustrated what do i do??
I had the same problem but managed to work around it by instead of moving the entire room, just resize one wall and drag it to where you want it. Takes longer than just moving the basement all together, but it stops it from becoming a regular room.
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much!! Everywhere I looked people were happy with the lower foundation trick! Consistently! But this doesn't work if the house you're building is on multiple levels with multiple platforms etc. You just end up with a mess of heightened and lowered terrain. Again thanks so much. May I ask if you're still putting out Sims 4 content? Or is your channel focused on lifestyle now? As I'll give likes and I'll subscribe if you're still putting out Sims videos. Have you considered having separate channels for your sims speed builds etc and your lifestyle content, at all? This is the way I've best seen this implemented 😊💛🩵

Wow thank you this is so simple to do no mods or cheats :) thank you I just started doing houses for my sims. This tip is a sanity saver
What if I added more rooms to the basement, saved my game and then realized I had a terrain issue, do I need to start over?
Great tip! Have had issues while trying to make underground houses that look like hobbit houses.

I'm looking for the answer to this as well... have you figured it out yet?

Nice... worked... opposed to previous hint from other guy that didnt. Lowering basement wasnt helpful at all.

I have exactly this issue too, just wrote a comment about it, then saw yours. Did you manage to learn how to fix it?

Thank you so much!! I've just been avoiding adding basements to all my builds, but in a recreation of my childhood home, I needed one! Thank you!
my house just keeps going into the ground with the foundation, it won't delete it
