Also, Honedge could also represent Don Murasame, as The Ninjark Sword.
Hey Lock! You should do a video on the four Ruin Pokemon. Maybe go into how they (and the professor inside the caldera) represent what happens if you go to far in your hunt for treasure "Enter stranger but take heed, of what awaits the sin of greed"
Love the Bill Wurtz reference at the end LMAOO Also very hyped for this dlc Literally the day before the presents Avataro Sentai Donbrothers finished airing in Japan It's a super Sentai season that I adore And i was quite sad that it was over but seeing this makes me happy and i can't wait to name all of these pokemon after the rangers
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Right, also, Donbrothers. It also reminds me of Kaito Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger, because, the phrase that the Lupinrangers say after a Megazord fight, and, by extension, the name of the penultimate episode, is, “Eien ni, Aidieu (TV-Nihon translation: An eternal, Aidieu,),”, with, “Aidieu,”, meaning, “Goodbye,”, or, “Farewell,”, in French.
As someone with an MA in Asian Studies, I love that Pokemon has been doing these Japanese and Chinese historical tie-ins with regions based on European countries.
4:38 Was it ever confirmed that Blueberry Academy was also located in Kitakami? I can see the area for the Indigo Disk being based on Majorca, but the trailer made it imply that Kitakami was a new area entirely since they said it’s located beyond the Paldea region
Same. Especially since Kitakami comes from North (In Japanese (Kita can mean north) and in the names it has in other languages. So it is either the Northeast area or based on Northern Honshu (the big island that Johto and Kanto's inspirations are from).
I bet this is related to the avataro sentai donbrothers super sentai season. Considering it just finished airing, and got a lot of attention for how weird it is, the timing is perfect.
Definitely but it’s interesting that they only made 4 members for this and made Momotaro a human. Like it makes sense for the original context but having a 5th member would’ve been nice

The Super Sentai masks inspired on the new trio is amazing and I want more Super Sentai Pokemon. Wonder if there is a legend of them being heroes in the game.
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: No, unfortunately, there is not. If you played through The Teal Mask, spoiler warning, you will find, that, The Loyal Three were the villains the whole time, which is why, at the end of the DLC, they are referred to as The “Loyal” Three, or, The Lousy Three.
I already loved the designs of the three Warrior Pokemon; they feel so stylized and unique. But to know they're designs are based off of clothing makes me love them so much more!!! I'm so curious about the story of the Teal Mask. It feels like Indigo Disc corolates with the story of Terastalizing, but the Teal Mask may have a new story to tell
I thought that small map in the trailer map looked a lot like the region around Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Since the Netherlands has a history with both Spain and Japan, I think it's still possible that part 2 of the DLC will be partially based on Holland. I also noticed that some of the new characters are wearing red, white and blue clothing, but I am probably grasping at straws there. there also is a lot of water
What I'm curious about is why the 3 new Pokemon look pretty sinister/dark... what's notable is in the festival scene, we see those sentai-style masks of the 3 of them, so I wonder if they might have alternate forms of their real hero selves (and the current forms are due to the influence of Ogrepon)?

Honestly, if Sawk and Throh is ever coming back, NOW would be the best time. Perhaps as 'lesser Oni' for you to battle and catch as some sort of initiation.
I actually have a lot of nostalgia for Momotaro surprisingly enough, mainly from being read the story in Japanese class and also the Amada Mario Anime Series’ adaptation of the story. Here's a wild guess on the heroes' types: - Okidogi: Fairy/Fighting - Munkidori: Fairy/Psychic - Fezandipiti: Fairy/Flying And a wilder guess on Ogerpon: it's currently being violent because of the influence of its Terastal-studded mask, and the three heroes want to save it.
Oh man we NEED an update to this given some of the Indigo Disk datamining and speculation going on regarding the Loyal Three potentially having a boss they answer to...
Before I saw their names, I thought Fezandipiti and Okidogi were like, DLC alternate variants of Quaquaval and Meowscarada. I was SUPER confused when I saw Munkidori, and also super confused as to why we would immediately get variants of the newest starters, that felt like it'd be a bit much, even if it was exciting.
I didn't even realise that the teal mask dlc is set inside paldea! But does make sense. But blueberry is surely outside of paldea 'cause I thought I heard something like "it's nice to explore outside of Paldea so you will see a lot of other pokémon, you can't catch in Paldea"

So PLEASE make the video Lockstin...? Please...? Gotta explain em all!
I think the lanterns might hint to there typings. On the right side of the teal mask image. Under the grass type is psychic, under fire is fairy, and water is ghost. The typings on the left seem to be shifted but are still in the same column with poison, fighting, and I think steel being the Tera type of the mask
You know, now that I think about it food brings us together, like tempura came from the Portuguese and i believe technology advances too for Japan. Y'know, this video has given me a new-found love for the "Party Kami Trio", as I like to call them. At first, aside for Ogerpon, I thought they were kinda bad. Okidogi is an example of Pokemon Dogs not being able to capture the perfection of real Dogs and making something ugly instead, Munkidoki is a literal bean, and Fezandipiti looks like it's trying to be an elegant yet badass Psychic type like Galarian Articuno but not pulling it off as well (assuming Fezandipiti is even Psychic to begin with). Garchomp (representing Don Murasame) probably does not appear in The Kitakami Pokedex at all, and that can also apply to Infernape and Incineroar, both of whom reference both of Jiro Momotani’s Ranger identities, Infernape is Don Dragoku, and Incineroar, in his Shiny color scheme, at the very least, is Don Torabolt. Not to mention, Honedge, representing The Ninjark Sword.
My guess is the theme for Teal Mask is that the land of Kitakami is a bountiful land full of goods and green which will tie in with the Forces of Nature together with Enamorous.
I don’t see anyone mention this but that “scarf” on Okidogi looks a lot like a chain. Pkidogi might have a menacing appearance but could be a happy and really excitable dog that needs to be on a leash in order to not accidentally knock someone over. Just something I was thinking. Wasn't able to make the stream, but supposedly you apologized to Ttar on stream. Have to give credit where credit is due. Actually apologizing for your actions is a big W. Unfortunately, that's not enough to make me subscribe back to you, but it's a very good step forward.
I can give him props for actually going in the call with TTAR but being the bigger man? That apology did not feel heartfelt bro. He kept trying to sneak in excuses like “I had one hour of sleep”, “I’m bad with words”. It’s also weird how his reasoning for slandering TTAR was to discredit the guy who asked him to give TTAR his credit. That was pure slander that was posted about TTAR and only got deleted because TTAR got involved. If he really was trying to avoid drama he would’ve immediately deleted it because people were posting bad things about TTAR but he left it up until TTAR called him out.
he apologized bc ttar had to force him to. he didn't apologize and when he tried on twitter and in the discord call it was fake and even he admitted it. took him three times to do so which is wild to me. still have no idea why he took a jab at ttar when he doesnt know anything about him

@@Internextion
The Kamen Rider bug makes perfect sense since Pokemon was literally inspired by tokusatsu, if anything it is a surprise that it took them so long to do it cuz Kamen Rider is pretty big in Japan
@@jvbon646 Naming mine Majora
I still can’t believe that Pokémon announced Pokémon based on the Momotaro story, like a day after Donbrothers, a Super Sentai show with characters based on the same story, ended.
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Neither can I, even after Pecharunt got added, he represents Don Momotaro, and the fact that Garchomp already exists, that Mon can be interpreted as representing Don Murasame, not to mention Infernape, Don Dragoku, and a Shiny Incineroar, Don Torabolt.
Love the Bill Wurtz reference at the end LMAOO
Also very hyped for this dlc
Literally the day before the presents Avataro Sentai Donbrothers finished airing in Japan
It's a super Sentai season that I adore
And i was quite sad that it was over but seeing this makes me happy and i can't wait to name all of these pokemon after the rangers
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: I can’t wait, either. Also, I would nickname them:
Pecharunt: TheBestInJapan (normal,), PeerlessUnderProvidence (Shiny.).
Monkidori: BrawnyOohOohAhAh!
Okidogi: WonderfulBark.
Fezandipiti: TrickyBird.
Ogerpon: GiveAnIronSpikedClubToAnOni.
Garchomp, and, Honedge: SorryToCutThrough.
Infernape: FirstClassDragon.
Incineroar (in his Shiny colors): ExtraTiger.
Okidogi’s Japanese name is いいね犬. iine basically means “it’s good isn’t it” which which is fun wordplay to go with inu (dog). ii ne inu.
6:27
That reference from history of Japan.
Love it. Love this video.
Learned a lot more then expected.
Thank you, lockstin
Yep, love Bill Wurtz's history videos.
As someone with an MA in Asian Studies, I love that Pokemon has been doing these Japanese and Chinese historical tie-ins with regions based on European countries.
I made the following connections:
Kitakami > Tohoku > Sendai > Date Masamune > envoy to Spain > good Spain/Japan relations.
It's not; Blueberry Academy is in Unova.
@@digidrveKJ @MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Great, and it is also fitting, as Taro Momoi/Don Momotaro is the only member of the five main Donbrothers to not use CGI in his suit at all. Actually, we have Pecharunt for Don Momotaro, and, also, both Garchomp, and, Honedge for Don Murasame, not to mention, Don Dragoku gets represented in Infernape, and Shiny Incineroar represents Don Torabolt.
Momotaro themed Super Sentai just finished last week and then Pokemon reveals Momotaro stuff.
What a coincidence.
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Agreed, even though it might be no coincidence, especially since three more Donbrothers, four, if you count both of Jiro Momotani’s Ranger forms as two separate characters, have Pokemon counterparts, now. Those are Don Momotaro (Pecharunt,), Don Murasame (Garchomp, and, Honedge,), and Don Dragoku (Infernape,), also, Don Torabolt (Shiny Incineroar.).
The Super Sentai masks inspired on the new trio is amazing and I want more Super Sentai Pokemon. Wonder if there is a legend of them being heroes in the game.
And the most recent Sentai being based off Momotaro too
So we got this, Lokix...
6:26 Was... Was that a Bill Wurtz reference?
I think it was!
It indeed was
I already loved the designs of the three Warrior Pokemon; they feel so stylized and unique. But to know they're designs are based off of clothing makes me love them so much more!!!
I'm so curious about the story of the Teal Mask. It feels like Indigo Disc corolates with the story of Terastalizing, but the Teal Mask may have a new story to tell
Ogrepon's mask has some crystals with the Tera texture on it, so there has to be some Area Zero info linked to it
Ogerpon is probably my favorite of the Pokémon revealed in the dlc, it just looks so smooth and happy
Dutch pokemon region when?!
@@nochancewithoutpasta7637 Denmark?
It’s Mallorca
What I'm curious about is why the 3 new Pokemon look pretty sinister/dark... what's notable is in the festival scene, we see those sentai-style masks of the 3 of them, so I wonder if they might have alternate forms of their real hero selves (and the current forms are due to the influence of Ogrepon)?
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Right, especially since Donbrothers aired its last episode the day before Pokemon Day.
I'm gonna nickname them all after the Avataro Don Brothers
So, you're nicknaming Ogerpon OniSister?
@@michaeldaniels642 you kinda have to since the momotaro stand-in in this is a human like in the original tale

If only we had known the true natures sooner.
I want him to do a follow up video once their boss is officially released
5:25 Samurai Shodown taught me about Dejima, with the fifth game giving Charlotte her own stage set on the island. The official soundtrack even refers to the visitors of the island as Nanban, or "Southern Barbarians."
So seeing what the DLC entailed is a pleasant surprise.
Regarding DLC, I wouldn’t mind having no new game next year if it meant we got more content updates. Especially if Legends Arceus and BDSP got them.
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Me too, especially because Donbrothers ended the day before Pokemon Day, and, we now have Pecharunt (Don Momotaro,), Infernape (Don Dragoku,), Shiny Incineroar (Don Torabolt,), and, Garchomp, also, Honedge (Don Murasame.).
Hey maybe this was obvious but I just realized that if the 3 starters and the 3 new funky animals are based on celebrations it might be they chose that because they celebrated over 1000 pokemon recently
Okidogi looks like the Gruntilda skin for Banjo & Kazooie in Smash Bros.
Can't unsee it now.
So basically, instead of pillaging the villaging, it just sneaks into everyone’s house and sets their clocks back 30 minutes so everyone is late to work at once and has to decide whether anyone is actually late or not

@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: I did, too, especially because this DLC got announced the day after Donbrothers ended, which was also based on that same story.
Fezendipity also gives me strong shrine maiden vibes
Well thanks to this. I can now see where the first DLC is based on as in how were getting a Japanese themed area but also be connected to Paldea in some way. Which makes a lot of sense when you think about it.
I cannot believe it didnt click that the three Pokemon were the animals from Momotaro. Im even more excited for the DLC now

Here's a wild guess on the heroes' types:
- Okidogi: Fairy/Fighting
- Munkidori: Fairy/Psychic
- Fezandipiti: Fairy/Flying
And a wilder guess on Ogerpon: it's currently being violent because of the influence of its Terastal-studded mask, and the three heroes want to save it.
They finally added Mojo Jojo into Pokémon
Oh man we NEED an update to this given some of the Indigo Disk datamining and speculation going on regarding the Loyal Three potentially having a boss they answer to...
hope u drop below 1M subscribers tomorrow completely undeserved
you've really been doing a good job seamlessly linking out to older videos ☆
Before I saw their names, I thought Fezandipiti and Okidogi were like, DLC alternate variants of Quaquaval and Meowscarada. I was SUPER confused when I saw Munkidori, and also super confused as to why we would immediately get variants of the newest starters, that felt like it'd be a bit much, even if it was exciting.
So we can say that you were super confused😂😂
Y'know, Ogerpon's name makes sense now; it's a cute little ogre-chan
You should remake this video
I didn't even realise that the teal mask dlc is set inside paldea! But does make sense. But blueberry is surely outside of paldea 'cause I thought I heard something like "it's nice to explore outside of Paldea so you will see a lot of other pokémon, you can't catch in Paldea"
I love okidogi
Greater dog
Finally get a Shiba dog in Pokémon.

I've been WAITING long enough and MUST speak: I need that 1 hour video explaining the whole of Gen9 pokemon roster because outtta all the gens in Pokemon, this one is one of those that needs the most help with backstories and concepts! So PLEASE make the video Lockstin...? Please...? Gotta explain em all!
Why did I partially think they were going to turn the story backwards for this?
I think the lanterns might hint to there typings. On the right side of the teal mask image. Under the grass type is psychic, under fire is fairy, and water is ghost. The typings on the left seem to be shifted but are still in the same column with poison, fighting, and I think steel being the Tera type of the mask
ayo, what you did to ttar is foul
Great Video as always. I saw the Inspiration too, but could never produce smth so highquality and do it that fast. Keep bringing the good stuff!
Loved the Iceman image you used when talking about Carmine. I recognised it instantly
You know, now that I think about it food brings us together, like tempura came from the Portuguese and i believe technology advances too for Japan. Is it referencing that which Japan likes the treasures. I feel like this Momotaro story is going to be very different and see the Oni side like a twist to the tale are a perspective. People just wanted treasures and no real connections.
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Me too, especially because of the fact that this DLC was announced literally the exact day after Donbrothers ended its run.
Can’t wait to learn more about Terapagos.
Damn. You fighting TTar reminds me of the good old days when Giancarlo Parimango and TTar were in drama during the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire era. 😂
I’d love to see a video on either the Golisopod line or the Baxcalibur line. Both Pokémon are one of my personal favorites
Leave Ttar alone
I don't know if someone has mentioned this, but I find it very interesting that the Ancient Greek word for mask is "prosopon", which rhymes quite well with the name of a certain soon to appear masked pokemon.
Hey, Lockstin. There's a live action promo that shows the Teal mythicals with masks resembling those ones used in shows like Power Rangers. So maybe they will have an alternate form we will use for a fight with a giant Ogrepon.
It also could be a reference to Avataro Sentai Don Brothers. Especially the way the visors look in the live action segement.
@@GalacticFlare @MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Agreed. Also, the visors on The Donbrothers’ suits, called Avataro Skins, are meant to resemble sunglasses, because their main power source are the glasses, and The Avatar Data stored in The Avataro Gears. The piece of media in question is the special, “This Is The Donbrothers’ Roll Call! The True Avataro.”.
Anyone who watches Sentai and latest incarnation, Donbrothers, knows about Momotaro :)
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Exactly, my friend. I understood that reference.
It would be cool if you updated this
Tbh, I’m more hyped for The Teal Mask than The Indigo Disk. TID’s main thing is the legendary, that being the disk Pokémon that keeps getting referenced in The Scarlet and Violet Books. Meanwhile, all four of the new Pokémon were getting in TTM (that we know of right now) are all extremely cool and fun with Fezandipiti being my favorite right now due to just how beautiful it looks.

Ogerpon looks like a green apple too. And if you look at the trailer for DLC they show apple trees when the character arrives at Kitakami. Could be the case since the new school is called Blueberry which is where we will learn about Terapagos (who is also blue). Orange, Grapes, Blueberries, and Apples. Hmmm 🤔
2:49 This is funny in hindsight, considering Fezandipiti is a dude.

Similarly, Fezandipiti is a pink pheasant Pokemon who has a 100% male gender ratio.

At first, aside for Ogerpon, I thought they were kinda bad. The fact that the Pokémon Talk that introduced Pokémon based on the legend of Momotaro days after the Super Sentai based on the same legend (Avataro Sentai Donbrothers) ended is hilarious, until I remember the show is over.
@MORISAKI WIN OFFICIAL be like: Right you are, despite the fact that 1. Pecharunt (representing Don Momotaro) debuted in the Mochi Mayhem epilogue chapter, and 2.
Why you hating TTAR?
My guess is the theme for Teal Mask is that the land of Kitakami is a bountiful land full of goods and green which will tie in with the Forces of Nature together with Enamorous.
Back off Ttar. He's the most chill Poketuber. Leave him out of your need for drama.
I don’t see anyone mention this but that “scarf” on Okidogi looks a lot like a chain. Pkidogi might have a menacing appearance but could be a happy and really excitable dog that needs to be on a leash in order to not accidentally knock someone over. Just something I was thinking. CANT WAIT FOR THIS DLC
Wasn't able to make the stream, but supposedly you apologized to Ttar on stream. Have to give credit where credit is due. Actually apologizing for your actions is a big W. Unfortunately, that's not enough to make me subscribe back to you, but it's a very good step forward.

The knotted band around munkidori's head is similar to the ones worn by stall workers and mikoshi during festivals instead of a hachimaki.
Good on you for being the bigger man and apologizing to Ttar on stream.
Glad you guys were able to talk things out.
