I remember the interlude on the CD.. When Keisha (whose married to Omar Epps) was having a "Happy Moment" and the guy was banging on the bathroom door..
This was before Bad Boy took over. Before Faith Evans. Up to this point Biggie had just dropped two singles. Juicy. And Big Poppa. But man this is when that crew said WE HERE!
3:03 unpopular opinion: Diddy’s ad libs are hype as hell. It’s just the fact that he’s so untalented compared to all the other artists that people find it annoying
I know Diddy had the fire adlibs and even a couple fire verses written for him. People just hate, but they were not complaining back in the day. He’s certainly talented in marketing and knowing what the culture wanted. He was never really taking himself seriously as an artist, he lost his biggest artist and was forced to find a way to still be successful.
This song was and is still🔥🔥🔥! I always loved to see Diddy's dancing and talking in the background. Diddy is definitely a talented man. His business practice's are questionable, but he really helped in the success of his talent.
This is why 90's hip hop is missed so much. Look at the background of what was coming out then. Mobb Deep. Mary J My Life, The Roots, 2Pac Me Against The World. It was crazy!
It’s ok to scream n holla when BIG n Total step out. I played this at least 30 times a day when it dropped. This is f’kn ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 I feel so blessed to have been apart of this era of music. I miss the feeling that songs used to give you.

One of the best songs ever made .. such a classic .. legendary song bro! Ole girl from Total .. Pam .. absolutely murdered this track .. obviously BIG as well!
For as popular as Total was in the 90's hip hop/ rnb community, they had trouble finding mainstream solo chart success. They had some top 20 hits on the hot 100, but their only solo song to crack the top 10 was "trippin" at #7. Their guest and featured appearances is where they had the most success. "Loungin" with LL Cool J got to #3 and "Hypnotize" with Biggie got to #1. The dominant 90's consumers were mostly made up of generations that were exposed to previous decades of vocally powerful female groups. Groups like the Supremes, the Vandellas, Labelle, the Ronettes, the Emotions and The Pointer Sisters (to name a few) were the standards that Total didn't live up to. Total was the only well known 90's rnb group that wasn't bringing strong vocals to their singles. I believe that affected their mass appeal. Where TLC was the perfect blend of style and substance, Total was all the style without the substance. Today's music scene is far more vocally forgiving. Total would've had a better career if they came out today. While I love their style and the creative perspective that they brought to music, I still believe, that by the late eighties /90's generation not taking musicians like Madonna and other popular musicians to task for producing less than stellar vocals, we opened up the pandora's box that led to horrors of today's popular music. Check out "90's girl" by the group Blackgirl. It's one of those catchy songs that makes you forget the gender specific lyrics. I remember one time singing this in the shower thinking I was home alone. I came out to find my step-dad in the hallway. We made eye contact briefly then awkwardly passed each other. You'll understand if you ever listen to this song. Also, the group Divine. Their debut single "lately" shattered all expectations and shot to the top of the charts. Most people don't know the group, but they know the song. The group For Real was the opposite of Divine. They had critical acclaims, award nominations, movie music work, Brian McKnight! Their singles "you don't wanna miss" and "you don't know nothing" got a lot of airplay on BET and the rnb/hip hop parts of MTV. Despite all the backing and their immense talent, they didn't take off. Not on the hot 100 or even on the rnb charts. They had a song on the Waiting to exhale soundtrack called "love will be waiting at home." The decision not to release it as a single was a career defining moment as it was almost assured to be a hit. It's a hauntingly beautiful ballad that tugs at all the right emotions. It's one of those songs you get lost in and let it take you to a place of total tranquility.
One of the best female r&b groups of all times in my opinion. They didn’t get to make a lot of albums and singles but the ones they did make are all classics in one way or another.🔥🔥🔥
@@cityboyyayarea4742 Total will always be my favorite group...no question. But if I was just looking for powerhouse vocals, I think Xscape tops the list. Especially those sangin' ass Scott sisters!
@@cityboyyayarea4742 Hard to decide. Total had that swag and honestly that's what draw me to them. SWV was dope, but kinda all about Coko for the most part. With Xscape though, everybody ALWAYS got they chance to shine and I loved that. If I HAD to choose only one group to listen to though, it'd be Total.
I know Biggie’s whole verse on this song by heart gotta watch him perform this with Total Live it’s a whole different vibe when he yelling those bars crazy this is why he’s my favorite rapper of all time only 2nd to Eminem you hear dat man flow boi untouchable and Jack was vibin’ too I can tell you felt Biggie’s bars in yo soul lol😆👊🏽🐐👑🔥💯#KingOfNY

I have ALWAYS loved Puffs ad libs!!! All because Suge Knight’s b*tch a$$ made that 1 comment, people ran with it... #NotMe!!!
Suge was the only one not doing it. Jermaine, Timbaland, Pharrell was all doing it so clearly Suge didn't know what he was talking about.
