for all the people saying this is stupid...shame on you. I understand that the AR15 was a little too much. But the gentlemen is making a statement by doing so. The thing about society now a days is that we have become weak and scared. People are afraid of weapons, when we used to live by them (War, hunting, self defense) A law abiding citizen has nothing to hide, so by carrying a weapon is exercising his rights. Remember a criminal will have a weapon whether its legal or not.
Fuck yeah! I'm familiar with Santa Ana as I have a lot of friends who live there. I salute you sir. Good job on exercising your 2nd. I wish everyone did this. I would love to do this if cops wouldn't trip so much. Looks like those cops didn't get on a high horse
In Arizona you can carry a fully loaded firearm with one in the chamber if you want, there are no ammunition restrictions. You are also legal to open carry or carry concealed without a permit now.
I love how the dummy who checked the pistol felt the need to pull out his mags and see what kind of ammo he had. I don't think that is part of an e-check. But hey if you're gonna violate the 4th why not go all the way.
I have a shotgun in my car for defense purposes. Totally legal. Planning on getting a 1911 to carry. But really all you gotta say to a cop is "yes it's mine and I'm carrying because I feel safer with it." And of course you should expect to be stopped if you're carrying more than one weapon in public and one of em being a rifle. From Arizona/New Mexico by the way.
People need to realize that there is a difference between seeing someone calmly walking around, without their guns "at the ready," obviously not a threat and seeing someone agitated, walking around olding the gun in their hands, waving it around, and going somewhere with a specific purpose. I understand people calling in, and I understand police responding, but once it's determine that you are not a thread, officers need to just let it be...
{this person can be stopped when a civilian calls them} Incorrect! A American, being knowledgeable of matters pertaining to his country, should not be harassed due to the existence & actions (calls) of other Americans, being ignorant of matters pertaining to their country {what do you have to hide} I really like it when people say this. Both cops & citizens often say it. "If you're doing nothing wrong, then you should have nothing to hide. Therefor, you should consent to being searched"
Simply the fact that, in the end, the cops allowed him to proceed with his guns, due to being within the law, indicates that the cops were wrongful to have approached him, impede his progress & question him. Considering that the only reason why they approached him was because he was openly carrying firearms...which is obviously not illegal. Therefor, the implication from the cop's actions is that to keep & bear arms is not your right
@MrSpukinator It is your responsibility to know that open carry is legal where you live. It is not the poster's job to make you feel comfortable. This has nothing to do with courtesy, it's about educating the public. People fear what they do not understand. If more people open carry the less of this we will see. "Keep and Bear Arms", it's in the Bill of Rights.
@modelcarbuilder Just because he has loaded mags does not mean he has a loaded weapon, but all he has to do to change that is pop in the clip and chamber the first round if he needs to in a self defense scenario. I can understand why people are calling police when they are not use to witnessing someone walking down the street with a handgun and rifle. They have every right to worry and call the police to investigate the matter.
"We have a legal right to inspect this weapon... ...just as soon as I make myself look like an incompetent dipshit by not being able to get it out of it's holster." LOL
What is the point in this? Just make a sign that says; "FYI., Open Carry of guns is legal in public. But I don't have a weapon myself, just this sign". Do you enjoy scaring people by walking down the street with a gun? Is this necessary? Even if you didn't do this, we still have certain rights. The cops are not violating your rights or the law. They have to respond to the call and make contact with you to assess your state of mind and determine whether you are a threat to society.
Az law states "Any person with a concealed carry permit issued under 13-3112 is required to present the permit for inspection to any law enforcement officer on request." also "The law does not expressly require openly carried weapons to be in a holster, case or scabbard; however, the open carrying of weapons not in such while on foot in a populated area could be construed as reckless display or, if others feel threatened by such, even assault with a deadly weapon."
@Liltunechi27 when open carry was legal(law passed banning it some time ago) the gun had to be empty. no ammo in the gun. you were allowed to have loaded magazines on your side though.
Always ask for their name and badge number, especially if they just asked for yours and never give your name or ID, in fact dont carry any ID when carrying. The second they determine the weapon is unloaded request it be returned, then ask "Am I under arrest?" when they say no turn around and leave. By staying you are consent to a consenual contact and they will try every verbal judo method to get you to talk they can think of.
2 things are happening here first the cops rather invest the hole day following you around because your not a theat, theres probly a bad area not to far away that they wont even go near the gang bangers, safer to mess with you, secondly if you do do something later they will be woried of a lawsuit, lawyers are ruining this country, its all about the liability...
good job! We here in Pa enjoy open carry without a permit as well. Unless you are in a motor vehicle then it is automatically considered concealed and you need your ccw. We can also carry a rifle but I've never seen anyone doing it lol. So since it's ca law the gun NOT be loaded I guess that gives cops the legal means to inspect?
This is a good video. California has the most messed web absurd laws in the country. Just because it's a different time than when the country was founded and the constitution written doesnt mean crap. The only reason our country has lasted as long as it has is our firm desire to always uphold the constitution. Even if your scared or feel slighted. When we start tinkering with these documents and the rights they grant we will watch this country fall around us. ALL OF US.
So according to California law, I can walk around in public with a pistol as long as its shown, unloaded, and my magazine with bullets is somewhere else on me?
Thank you @TroutFink this is why guns are becoming harder and harder to buy...o btw this person can be stopped when a civilian calls them...what do you have to hide
only problem i have with an open carry is that A it will not be loaded because of the simple fact you will be stopped and secondly everyone and their mother knows you have the weapon so you have no element of surprise and you have to take the time to load the some bitch but you still have your right to carry it
Nice job pointing out that the SAPD is not doing there job what so ever. They show up for things like this but when there is an actual shooting they take forever to arrive at the scene and bring only 2 cars. I live right near there and have experienced all of the cop's stupidity first hand, an acquaintance of mine was shot in the leg by a passing driveby and when someone called they showed up 7 mins later and with only one cop car and one ambulence. They don't take care of what they should.
These police look like they absolutely hate the fact that this man can walk around with firearms. Why is that when they took an oath to defend the constitution?
Because it's called harassment. If your state, city, or county have laws allowing open carrying then it should be the city's officials responsibility to make sure that their officers are trained and knowledgeable of the laws so people don't have to go thru this bs.
Good Job, some helpful feedback, when officers say "we have a right to check" correct them, police officers do not have rights, rights are reserved for citizens, LE has authority granted by the public nothing more. When they start asking questions on a "fishing" expedition like is this gun registered to you, call them out on it tell them, "No fishing expeditions officer".
iam from Australia and cant believe people are aloud to walk around with guns even unloaded haha its so fucking crazy. id shit bricks if i saw some random dude with a gun AND and rifle haah and to think about how must infomation you DONT have to give the cops lol..
@beamprimary It's CALIFORNIA, protesting for concealed carry won't get you anywhere; its too damn liberal. As it currently is, CA is a "may-issue" state, meaning sheriffs can approve CCW permits at their discretion. Conservative areas or more rural areas tend to issue more, while more liberal areas are basically no-issue. Ex: There was a sheriff in Orange County who was basically running a shall-issue county...when he got kicked out of office in '08, the incumbent revoked many of those permits.
@mousekaboom11 If you are legal to own a gun then the type of gun shouldn't matter. It is his RIGHT to carry that firearm in this country By your logic since there is no reason to drive faster than 75mph, why drive a car that can go 120?
i might get bashed and what not but those cops were actually pretty nice, they just checked if the firearm was unloaded wich it has to be in california and thats it
If I am walking around with a gun in public I have no problem with police officers coming over to me just to figure it out. It's not that they want to take your guns or something, but it is just unnatural for somebody to walk around with weapons - even if we are allowed to carry firearms on us. I would rather check the person out to make sure their are no hidden motives and just let them be on there way; Then not to stop that person and they commit a crime.
Please remember that any action that a legal gun owner takes that sparks fear and or concern of others will directly bite us in the butt. if you are not heading to a location to legally fire your long arm and there is no actual purpose of having it on your persons, such as aimlessly walking around town for the purpose of sneering at leo because we have the legal right causes issue and or concern enough to rewrite the laws where we no longer have legal right to posses a firearm in a public area
I'm sorry but yes If a civilian sees someone walking around with an assault rifle they should call the police and they should respond..and too the other point all I'm saying is that things go allot smoother when you cooperate with the cops instead of antagonizing them...what if this guy was just gonna start shooting anybody he saw or shoot at cars..just saying it could happen and at least the cops were respectful and not belingering this man
@jay4201203461003 In georgia and in most open carry states the term "loaded" means a round in the chamber or active chamber of revolver... Please be aware of there laws in your local area and state... Last thing you want is a felony charge...
@blablupp77 Why tell them that? do you make a point of telling everyone you meet you have no personal issues with them? it should be assumed that you have no issues with them and as the video plainly showed he had called before hand to inform the police he was going to be doing a walk around with guns while his truck was washed so as far as im concerned he went above and beyond to let them know he was not there to make problems just exercising his rights.
@FreeAmericaRP2012 you are right. If more people open carry then people will just get used to it.how do you get more people to do it though? while I think ron paul has some sound economic theories unless I am mistaken I think he believes that gun laws should be left up to the states.so basically I would be completely screwed here in commifornia.
Considering that you can only shoot one gun at a time this guy is making a PITA of himself. He thinks he is safe? He is a walking target. A gang looking for weapons is going to get him.
what a waste of resources and tax payer dollars! 5 damn cop cars for a man exercising his 2nd Amendment rights and not threatening anyone! outrageous!
LOL! I like how enthusiastic the cop is when he says "How ya doin?" at about 1:24. Sounds like a fun guy!
for all the people saying this is stupid...shame on you. I understand that the AR15 was a little too much. But the gentlemen is making a statement by doing so. i like how the cop with your rifle looked so disappointed when you told him to put ur gun back on your shoulder
I just now came across this video. You did a great job my friend.
pay attention to the video ..there are magazines on his hip...and its called exercising your right ...
more video in santa ana of these would be cool.. nice
You nailed it brother - great job!
You're awesome! Keep on educating others as to their God given, inalienable right, to self-defense. Kudos Sir!
Handled yourself well. Good Job.
Out of curiosity, what did you use to stabilize the video?
I have a shotgun in my car for defense purposes. Totally legal. Planning on getting a 1911 to carry. Good job man. I'm glad people are fighting for our rights.
that was awesome.... thank you for posting this! it will encourage the rest of citizens who want to exercise their rights!
THIS IS AWESOME! AHAHHA I LAUGHED THEY WERE LIKE OH SHIT HE'S NOT ANSWERING MY QUESTIONS! :) HEY I'M NOT TO FAR FROM BRISTOL, GOTTA LOVE SANTA ANA!
People need to realize that there is a difference between seeing someone calmly walking around, without their guns "at the ready," obviously not a threat and seeing someone agitated, walking around olding the gun in their hands, waving it around, and going somewhere with a specific purpose. These cops have way too time on their hands. We need a fewer cops are more armed citizens
Yeah, you are for sure picking a fight about it. But i admire you standing up for our rights. Thank you
@soihitit You're right, he should get a CCW permit, which is impossible to get in California.
ROFL..."...and they ARE real..." I love it!!
Simply the fact that, in the end, the cops allowed him to proceed with his guns, due to being within the law, indicates that the cops were wrongful to have approached him, impede his progress & question him. Considering that the only reason why they approached him was because he was openly carrying firearms...which is obviously not illegal. I clicked on the button to make it snow so I could finally see snow falling in California.
That was awsome. Big smile

I liked it it shows in a peaceful sense of protectipon the right to bare arms..good luck
I love people who exercise their rights.
What is the point in this? Just make a sign that says; "FYI., Open Carry of guns is legal in public. But I don't have a weapon myself, just this sign". You want to hear something crazy? In Texas we CANNOT OPEN CARRY...
the only thing i have to say is you have balls bro good for you
What would the next gun advocate say when you load your weapon and rob the nearest convenience store?
Just curious what type of rifle you were carrying. Looked like some sort of assault rifle with the flash suppressor.
Az law states "Any person with a concealed carry permit issued under 13-3112 is required to present the permit for inspection to any law enforcement officer on request."

brently300 A.Z law states NOT CALIFORNIA DIFFERENT LAWS ! THANKS

My Denel NTW 20 BMG is my open carry Officer! Honest!!!
WAY TO GO! GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!
open carried at the county fair the other day. 2 uniformed officers saw me, walked past, didnt bother. :)
@MrSmallANDLoud for protection, you can carry ammo with the gun so just a simple thing putting the ammo in before you use it
2 things are happening here first the cops rather invest the hole day following you around because your not a theat, theres probly a bad area not to far away that they wont even go near the gang bangers, safer to mess with you, secondly if you do do something later they will be woried of a lawsuit, lawyers are ruining this country, its all about the liability...
What a gorgeous state
Someone needs to do an open carry on a heavy machine gun, two pistols, a rifle on the back whilst carrying a shotgun on their side.
They seemed cool.
I love my Blackhawk! holster. How do you like yours?
thats my dad the cops come out even when he has no gun
Keep doing what your doing
So you can carry an unloaded weapon and a full magazine as long as the magazine is not in the weapon?
This is a good video. California has the most messed web absurd laws in the country. Just because it's a different time than when the country was founded and the constitution written doesnt mean crap. Just an update in California in 2012 laws changed Banning open carry of firearms I wonder why
So according to California law, I can walk around in public with a pistol as long as its shown, unloaded, and my magazine with bullets is somewhere else on me?

Great job. A right not exercised is removed.
You're a fucking hero man.
It would have taken like half the time if you just answered some of the questions. Like they seemed pretty sympathetic to the cause.
I love it!!!!!!!!!!
haha, can you put it back on my shoulder? lolol
@beamprimary You do know how impossible it is to get a CCW permit in CA, right?
this was boss
my glock 23 holds 13rds how many does yours lol jk jk man awesome video bud cali gun laws suck i know but good for you for carrying i cant in IL
i agree with open carry but Open carry rifle in a neighbourhood is a little much !
iam from Australia and cant believe people are aloud to walk around with guns even unloaded haha its so fucking crazy. id shit bricks if i saw some random dude with a gun AND and rifle haah and to think about how must infomation you DONT have to give the cops lol..
@TheBigfoot425 this is a rifle and a hangun open carry
@MrMarket24
sorry that's me in the video there was no public disturbance or disturbing the peace
Good job citizen!! Give it to them cops who violate your rights in the name of safety..

more bad comments than good....but more likes than dislikes...

most of these open carry nuts dont know how difficult it is to effectively use a weapon in an attack.
You don't abuse rights. You either have them and enjoy them how your please, or you don't actually have the rights.
I see your point, but you can at least respond to "Is the gun registered to you" Why can't you just say yes? It makes you look more suspicious.
I'm sorry but yes If a civilian sees someone walking around with an assault rifle they should call the police and they should respond..and too the other point all I'm saying is that things go allot smoother when you cooperate with the cops instead of antagonizing them...what if this guy was just gonna start shooting anybody he saw or shoot at cars..just saying it could happen and at least the cops were respectful and not belingering this man
@sirpsychoj I love how paranoid you are. So the actions of people on the streets of California affect you in Australia how exactly?
@soihitit they wont give you a ccw here....its nearly impossible to get one here...
@jay4201203461003 In georgia and in most open carry states the term "loaded" means a round in the chamber or active chamber of revolver... Please be aware of there laws in your local area and state... Last thing you want is a felony charge...
Wow! All this just to prove a point. This helps the cause.
what happens if you walk in the bank like that?
@blablupp77 Why tell them that? do you make a point of telling everyone you meet you have no personal issues with them? it should be assumed that you have no issues with them and as the video plainly showed he had called before hand to inform the police he was going to be doing a walk around with guns while his truck was washed so as far as im concerned he went above and beyond to let them know he was not there to make problems just exercising his rights.
@sirpsychoj .....i chose ur comment to reply to becauce u make no sense(idiot).....there are two magazine fully loaded ready to go on his side....

@MrSmallANDLoud you can have ammo on you though, but in cali u cant have it loaded
this didn't happen after the ban. right?
@modelcarbuilder Were you carrying ammo with you?
always be prepared for the zomibe apocalypse
