does anybody know why the string isnt fitting trough the hole? got the same strings in white but it doesnt seem to be small enough for the hole near the tuners
Is it an Upright Bass? those tuner holes seem to be a bit smaller because the metal strings they come with have very thin ends that are wrapped in like a fabric material. If the selenes were too thick then maybe you could try the Superior strings and go with the skinniest 4 they give you? Other than that I'd say you might have to run Metal strings or find a way to widen the holes/swap out the tuners.
hey bro , i just bought the Selene a strings in white nylon. My E and A string sound a bit muted and don’t actually let the string vibrate the note . Any tips ?
If they're not ringing out they might not be seated correctly in the bridge or the nut slots, or they could be thicker than the last strings so the extra diameter makes it vibrate harder against the fretboard. Maybe try adjusting your bridge forwards to raise the string height a bit?
Make sure to hold both sides and adjust it carefully. If you need to loosen the strings a little bit to take some of the pressure off do it but not to the point where there's no tension. Make sure it sitting flat and in the middle of both F hole slots
@@kishamycat2410 yes, I have other friend who cut their strings to match a smaller size, so it should just make sure string them up properly so tension isn’t a problem
Yes, if you look at my tiktok account I have videos with the Superiors on a rented Upright bass. The scale lengths aren't much different, Mexican tololoches are just smaller bodies than Orchestra type Upright basses.
Hay banda que nunca se las cambia para que agarre tono mas gordote todavia. Yo diria que lo hagas al gusto y si necesitas brillo de vuelta por algun motivo, compres otras. Mientras quedate con las que tienes.
Your bridge could be too high up the bass top, make sure its in line with the F holes. Or your tuning could be really high. If youre tuned in Mi try tuning it down to La. If youre in La tune down to Mi.
I would look for some local music stores that could source them for you! They can be found on eBay as well and I've even seen Japanese websites selling them so I'm sure you could find somewhere that ships to the Netherlands!
4:52 in english we say freetboard
Yup
My Selene contrabajo low E string won’t fit in the hole 😫
Where did you get your tolo made? It sounds really good.
@@donporky1993 its a Don Cortez, made in Mexico. Got it used but it was sold at the US Music Store in Downey, CA

How do you put back your brigde if it gets a little out of place

Hey for the superior bass strings can you put them on a regular upright bass?
Yes, tololoche y upright bass are essentially the same instrument it’s only called differently because it’s the name it took in Mexico
@@lilroastbeef1840so would tololoche strings fit on a regular 3/4 upright bass?

I shaved down the bridge on my TOLO so it could slap good on the fingerboard

Yeah I was showing them to a student of mine and those were the only ones I was seeing. I think you can find other colors on other websites/retailers.
