I finally saved enough to buy a wheelchair for my chronic joint pain. I'm so excited to be able to go out in public again without needing to sit down in the middle of an aisle for a break while grocery shopping.
Wow thank you this was so helpful! I volunteer at my local hospital and I felt super embarrassed about not knowing to use a wheelchair. A video demonstration is def better than written instructions for this

This foldable wheelchair is way better than mine! Mine is a Caneo E! I hate the armrests aren't removable, the feetplates are difficult to remove and it's harder to fold it. I'm 55 and a nurse, so l know how to go around with these helfeing wheelz. I'd like to change it! Thank you

HEMIPLEGIC, myself. Average height and weight for an Australian male. 170 cm, 70 kg. My own push chair is lightweight aluminum, bought locally, second hand. Inflatable rubber tires, which need inflation testing every few months. Since my left arm is useless, the left rear wheel had had the heavy metal push rim removed. This can easily be replaced as necessary. The one usable push rim is coated with non slip adhesive tape, easily removed & quickly replaced. Currently paper based making tape. Perhaps later thin silicon rubber based tape, which is added to the handling part of my walking sticks. My car accident happened 38 years ago, when my job was as a 34 year old senior social worker, specializing with single disabled adults. Now that old age (72, severe Traumatic Brain Injury) is my life, there are now three other powered wheelchairs that replace my previous mobility aids. These mobility aids are similarly modified, ergonomically. The wheelchairs are small, medium and large sized, depending on the intended use. Small and medium for into a standard car or sedan, rear seat or boot. The large powered wheelchair, with dual lithium based batteries, needs a much larger vehicle for distance transporting.
