God bless you. I am older, and look back at the challenges that God has sent me. I raised four children, three with special needs, or as I like to say, high maintenance. I was a single working mom with a limited support system and in those days, a lot of criticism. The one thing that got me through was my belief that God will take care of me. Looking back, he really gave me a roller coaster ride. Looking back with gratitude, you just do what you have to do, when you have to do it. Even when you don’t know what or how.

Watching your child have a seizure is the scariest thing I have ever seen. My daughter was finally officially diagnosed at 18. She’s 27 now and has been seizure-free and doing great for several years. There is hope in the journey of epilepsy!

I remember when my husband had a seizure completely out of the blue a 10 years ago. You are right, it is terrifying. He ended up having 2 seizures about a year and a half apart. He was put on medication after the second seizure and hasn't had another since.
You and your family are in my prayers.

❤🧡💛 Epilepsy - my husband & I let a friend live in our tiny house with us for about a year + 4 months, starting near the end of 2022. He's an adult male. We didn't know he still has active epilepsy until he had a full seizure one night. He hides his struggle, so I had no idea. All I could do was stand next to his rigidly jumpy body and think, "If Jesus saw the boy laying on the ground in seizure and foaming at the mouth, and if Jesus wasn't alarmed & simply told it to go, then I'm not gonna be scared, I refuse to be scared by what Im seeing." I didn't even know back then if his memory would ever come back or if I was saddled with a man with permanent memory loss. Thank God I found out that his memory and awareness always returns eventually. He later explained the attacks pass & he personally doesn't ever want anyone to call an ambulance. Just had to share, don't feel alone. ❤ Cristina in Texas 💙

Household management is crazy. I'm constantly trying to make it better. I have dealt with a child with dyslexia. Having structure and calmness helps. I like using the crockpot, it's my helper. I write out a whole menu for the whole week. This helps a lot. There seems to never be enough time. My son had the same issue but he did outgrow it. Hang in there and God bless u as u go through all of these cycles. 🙏

I too have been going through trial after trial this year and leaning on God through it all. Meal planning was the first “system” I tackled when life happened too.
My tricks are M-F we eat the same breakfast and same lunch everyday and I just prep it all on Sunday mornings. So if it’s an egg bake and sandwiches I make it all and just keep it in the fridge.
For kids lunches we have 3 compartment tupperwares- the big portion has a carb and protein, medium has fruit of veg, and small has a treat. (This week they chose pancakes and chicken nuggets, grapes or apples, and Oreos). They can also grab up to 3 snacks from the cupboard (like applesauce or chips) The kids get to pick what they want within reason on our drive home from school on Wednesdays and it eliminates me thinking.
For dinners I made a month meal plan and we just restart each new month. All the meals are ridiculously easy unless I know I’m going to have time to cook- like Mondays are pasta and if it’s busy we are doing spaghetti with frozen meatballs but one magical time I had energy to make lasagna. Fridays are always bagged salad, frozen pizza and wings, Saturdays are always frozen veggie burgers and fries. I have next weeks meals planned on Wednesday nights and others can input if they want something else, my only requirement is the meals have to have either a fruit or veg. I also told everyone if they want something else they are more than welcome to cook for the family and that pretty much shut down complaints. (My kids are only 3 and 5 but they will make applesauce, frozen waffles and sausage for the family if they really don’t want what I made 😂).
Any additional grocery requests are due Thursday mornings since I shop my lunch hour that day and if it’s not on my list they have to wait another week. The list is posted on the fridge so everyone can add things throughout the week.
Honestly it was a fair amount of up front work making the monthly plan but once it was done I have been so relieved because I don’t have to make decisions day after day and week after week.
Also I love your new haircut!

Thanks for this video and your family update. I'm glad you're on the side of moving forward. At my age of 71, last month, I had a first time seizure. Yes, so scary. Until I have all my tests to find out the cause, I have different ways to take care of myself. Thanks again especially for the example of faith.

Going back to the taking out the garbage. How it has 8 steps.
It makes me think of the nursery rhyme.
    1,2 buckle my shoes
    3,4 open the door
    5,6 pick up stick
    7,8 lay them straight
    9,10 do it again
The child learned to count and do a very common house chore back when we had to heat our homes with wood.
We should probably do similar more modern nursery rhymes to help our children learn chores.

Just FYI, the keto diet was originally used to help with childhood epilepsy. If you didn’t already know that, you may want to research it. Generally, doctors treat with medication. I hope all goes well with your son.

I have major major problems with overwhelm and confusion with household management- I've started to do better by actually getting out of my head, and just telling myself to keep moving- if I get tired of a task (dishes, laundry) I shift to a different job, then come back again when I'm bored of that! I'm also trying to develop a list of "always/never" standards/ boundaries for myself.

Much of my life has been regulated by attending or teaching school, Everything was structured for me. Bells signaled beginnings and endings. The maintenance people cleaned. Then I got married. Then I had kids. It's just sinking in that homemaking is nothing like that. A man [or woman] plans his [her] way, but the LORD directs his [her] way Proverbs16:9. I still have to plan (plan A, B, and C) and work and depend on Him to direct and provide.
