i recently transferred all my files to an external hard drive and now when i open waveform my edits are no longer there how do i get it to read the new drive so i can continue my edits?
Using Tracktion Waveform 11 on Air. Strangest thing. I copied, pasted a track from one project to another new project, then deleted the first project but now that file is completely missing. All my work gone! ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't do time machine because my ext hargrove wasn't plugged in for 24 hours. All recording files are saved internal.
Hey i have a question about the process of rendering too a mp3 i have a song that i want too render and it just doesn't detect any audio what can i do/ whats the problem greatings from germany
need help, every time I import audio it shrinks it down so that the length of clip is shorter and the sound is a higher pitch, what setting am I missing?
With the bottom menu fully expanded, click on the audio clip, then down in the menu click on loop properties. Make sure auto pitch and auto tempo are not checked.
Noob here. I came to this video hoping it would help me get started in tracktion, because the quick start guide i was following lost me as soon as it started to talk about "edits" without explaining what they are. I am still totally confused about what "edits" are? Is it like some kind of backup system? e.g. if I create a blank project, then create a track within it, then edit that track, does that create a new "edit"? i.e. would i now have two edits, one for before my changes and one for after? And is the "edit" just the changed track? or is it like a snapshot of the whole project before and after the edit? I might totally have the wrong idea here. I have used other daws before and get the concept of poejcts and tracks, but I wish someone would actually explain "edits" without assuming we know!
Edits in Waveform are basically if you’re in a project and do a “save as” to create a new save file of the same project. This comes in handy if you think you’ve finished your mix so you save it as edit 1 or whatever your original project name is. You listen to the mix down and maybe there are some thing that you’d like to change. Now you open your project click save as and create edit2. Now make your changes and render it. Maybe you actually think you messed things up in edit 2 and would like to start from edit 1 again. Because you didn’t change edit 1 you can go back start there again then maybe create edit 3. In other DAWs you might have done this just by save as. In Waveform they call these edits and you can easily see all of your edits from the project window.
@@AudioTechTV I have an edit in a project called Test project, I want to move/copy that edit from that project to another project folder in which I have another project with a different name. I can't seem to either move, copy or save the edit into that project folder/project, it always ends up in the same Test project.
The edit does however and up in the correct folder on my hard drive, but in Waveform the edit still only shows up under Test project and not in the other Folder/project
I've been wondering what the Archive thing was. Mystery solved. Great tip about recording to an external HD, latency and system overload is the reason my guitar always sounds out of time on recordings. :-D Oh, and Debbie the B-52's...you're spoiling us. ;-)

I accidentally closed my project, yet I cannot find it...
Anyone know how to relocate the file?
Click on the project you want to open then click on it again where it is under edits, then in bottom right it says open for editing

@@AudioTechTV thanks, I found that turning off auto detect tempo of imported clips solves this

@@AudioTechTV Thanks so much for the prompt reply! That helps a lot.
How do I move or copy an edit to another project? I can't seem to find a feature for that.
What do you mean by copying an edit to another project? Opening an edit within another project? Or saving an edit to another project folder?
