Beautiful gold, what a thrill. After 4 years of panning (no detecting) I still haven't found a nugget. Biggest piece ever is a coarse, flat picker that weighs 0.4 grams. Can't wait for the moment when my first nugget reveals itself in the pan. We're moving to an area with coarse gold, so a nugget will be happening in the near future.
@@getdownanddirtyprospecting whats the biggest nugget you've seen? my mate took one out of the northern Pilbara went 7.9 Kg solid gold out of a caprock divot
Wow Glen you've done it again. Beautiful gold and doesn't look like it's travelled far as you say. That spot just keeps on producing. Well deserved mate. And great job picking up the rubbish. Pity more people aren't as respectful towards nature as you are. I spent the whole of last fortnight trekking along my home beaches each day before work filling garbage bags full of plastic rubbish washed up after the floods. Called the EPA last week to ask if they could help collect the heavy bulky stuff I'd piled up and they were extremely unhelpful and rude. These govt departments are nothing more than a farsical front with no true regard for nature stewardship. Keep up the great work Glen. Always really enjoy your productions 👍
What a huge nugget. I'd like to get my hands on something like that. It is a point of honor for prospectors to take the rubbish with them. And you were rewarded. Well done Glenno 🤠🇩🇪👍🍻
What a cracka day Glenn, great haul and a very nice nugget indeed. Well done to you all👍👍👍Your absolutely right in the approach to cleaning up. I believe if you can carry it there then carry it home!! Its in all our best interests to keep the bush better than when we found it. Keep up the good work!!!!
We did some panning for the first time ever with friends in Hill End today. Loved finding this video and many of your other ones this evening - we are hooked! Love your work, putting in the hard yards is worth it 😎 that’s prospecting! Looking forward to the next video and may catch you out there one day 👍🏻- Mitch and Larn
Wow, that should make any day, looks really cool too. Cleaning up the river you got some good karma gold too, impressive! You can find the source... Prospect it out! Noticed the pictures right away, very cool, Great video
could it be possible that the deposit was laid down by an old channel flowing at a sharp angle to the creek you are now working? I'm sure the old timers would of changed the direction of the watercourse maybe very drastically. Still prickly as I could of travelled quite the distance balled up in clay. just a theory. love the content❤ from Ireland 🇮🇪
@@getdownanddirtyprospecting That is awesome. You might have to jump out of the creek and start working up the slope, where you are might be where the gold is feeding into the creek, especially if the gold is rough and not to worn.
Well done Glen! I enjoy watching your videos. I’m new to prospecting so watching your videos has helped me. I am from Mudgee so I have been trying the Meroo river with a little bit of success. I might have to try the Turon or hill end soon. All the best
I remember getting some good gold on the Meroo river from the turn-off following the river west it was about halfway down near a house .I was told about a long running creek near Mudgee that is good that I have not tried I will have to look up the name
I think that’s where I have been going… house on the right hand side coming from Mudgee, turn left at the house and in through a gate. I just got back from a morning prospect and got a nice 0.27g specimen and another bit of quartz that looks to have a piece inside it. Not sure how to show photos of them. Are you on any forums I could post photos? Cheers

Hi. A mate and I (first-timers) have just been to Sofala twice in in the last few weeks and got a few very fine flakes about 500m downstream area. We are going back this weekend to have a look upstream or maybe Little Oaky area. I read that a lot of the area is inaccessible due to private land issues. Can you give us any advice on where it is safe to go (don’t wan’t to upset anyone, or get shot at)! I wasn’t sure if I just bought a map that it would be up to date and wonder if we are allowed to follow the river through private land if we we just stick to the riverbed? Raining this week so that may not be possible anyway I guess. Thanks for cleaning up after the litterbugs, will follow your example on that and take some bins with us. Subscribed a few weeks ago, enjoy your videos a lot. Cheers Colin
As long as u stay on the banks of rivers and creeks it’s all good the farmers don’t own rivers and creeks it’s just a little hard getting over barb wire lol lots of test pans and leg work will get u on good gold
That line of reefs stretches from south of the Turon, over Hawkins Hill, through Hill End and then all the way to East of Burrendong. The gold is all very similar, especially at H*******s. Awesome nugget and fines. Can't remember of you said in the past but have you loamed up the banks at the cut out point for a reef ? You did say that there was rough bits in one spot .
I think a lot of the coarse gold is shedding out of Palmer's Oakey creek. That stretch has always yielded good sized coarse gold like your bigger pieces.
I have tried Big Oaky Little Oaky and many other creeks and gully's in the area but still have not tried Palmers Oaky maybe someday I will its a super long creek though
