    • @ThaMonkeySquad
      @ThaMonkeySquad  3 года назад +1

      It's the same approach to when u make 3 songs mashup. The different is that u plan things out.. Write all the song down, the keys, tempo. See if many songs falls in one key or tempo, group then together. And divide the mix into smaller mashups with different tempo. Then u can stitch them all into one :)

    Hi, if I want to convert major to minor, I will pitch down 3 semitone right? And how do you know "bpm" of a song?

    • @ThaMonkeySquad
      @ThaMonkeySquad  4 года назад +1

      When u convert major to minor u actually don't do anything. Let's say u have a song, it's in C major.. And u have a song that is in B minor.. Well how does these two song match. I'll convert the major to minor so it fits the B minor song. Okay so if I convert the C major song it will turn out to be A minor (remember 3 notes down shows the minor of the major) that means the C major song is also the same as a A minor song. So now that u know it's an A minor and a B minor songs u can now decide how to pitch the songs. So if we find the middle note of the two songs it will be A#.. Then u want to pitch the B minor song down 1 semitone and and A minor song 1 semitone down. To find the bpm u can either use the FL studio detect function, or go to this website www.tunebat.com hope that helps :)

  • @hayashi7789
    @hayashi7789 3 года назад

    hi again! I'm so sorry if I bother you too much for asking so many questions but- how do you deal with songs that just don't fit well together even if you match their keys and bpm? I adjusted the pitch too but they just don't sound well together. I've been working on so many mashups, sadly I didn't finish them since they sound bad. I also do your tip by switching the acapellas per section. The instrumental of Song A just don't fit the acapella of Song B. Btw- you're so close in getting 100k subs!

    • @ThaMonkeySquad
      @ThaMonkeySquad  3 года назад

      Are u 100 procent sure the pitch and key is correct? Could u give me the title of the song u are trying to mashup?

    • @hayashi7789
      @hayashi7789 3 года назад

      Yes, I am sure. The songs I chose for my mashup is MCND’s Ice Age (143 bpm-D flat Major) and NCT 127’s Regular (134 bpm-A Minor). I adjusted the bpm of Regular from 134 to 143. I converted Ice Age’s D flat Major to B flat Minor. and I pitch up Regular by 1 semitone so that both songs meet at B flat Minor. I’m using Regular’s instrumental and Ice Age’s acapella. The instrumental was too hyped up while the acapella wasn’t. Did I choose the wrong songs for a mashup? Where do you get ideas? I can’t seem to find songs that really sounds good together :(

    • @ThaMonkeySquad
      @ThaMonkeySquad  3 года назад

      im guessing you have the information from tunebat.com or another website. I'm pretty sure ice age is C Minor as i recently just used it. as for regular i remember it being the same as fake love which is D Minor. Please try again and raise ice age 1 semitone and regular down 1 semitone and see if it works ;DI have a list with all the keys on Patreon if you one day join, please let me know and i can send the link :)

    Hello! I was making a mashup of Monster by RV and Mayday by VICTON. I adjusted the bpm of Monster (116) by +12 to match Mayday (128) and the pitch kinda increased. Monster is in E Minor and Mayday is in F# Minor so I had to pitch up 1 semitone Monster and pitch down 1 semitone Mayday. I have a problem, Monster’s pitch already increased in changing bpm but I have to pitch it up 1 semitone which means it will be more high pitched. How do you deal with songs like this?
    and is it really important to pitch songs? what happens if I just match their bpm without pitching?

    • @ThaMonkeySquad
      @ThaMonkeySquad  3 года назад

      What software are u using? During it on FL studio doesn't change the pitch when u speed up the track like i do in the videos. The mode is set to auto which doesn't change pitch. If u simple match the tempo then u have two songs on top of each other that uses different notes and therefore does not harmonize and the majority of ppl will dislike your mashup. If u have a problem hearing If a mashup is on key or off key then it's more important for u to learn how to distinguish between it. It's the basic of all mashup and if we can't nail the basic, the mashup is just not a mashup but just songs stacked on top of each other 😅

    • @tsuki3102
      @tsuki3102 3 года назад

      I'm using Bandlab on iPad (can change bpm but affects pitch) and I edit the actual mashup on Audacity (i’m still learning on how to change bpm there without affecting pitch). I'll try fl studio since it seems like it can do everything! I just don't get why Monster needs to be high pitched (1 semitone up) while Mayday needs to be low pitched (1 semitone down). That makes two songs who is high and low pitched mashed up which doesn't harmonize at all (or I can be wrong and they do harmozine). I can't hear if a song is on key or not so do you have any tutorial recommendations for me to learn on how to know if a song is off key or on key??

    • @ThaMonkeySquad
      @ThaMonkeySquad  3 года назад

      @@tsuki3102 if speeding up a track and it doesnt maintain the key, it can not be used for mashup. Audacity has a effect called "change tempo" this is the one u want to use as it maintains the song key so u can pitch it afterward with the pitching effect. there is no on or off key in a song, there is only on and off key in mashups :) if u want to practise hearing it, just find two song in the same key, match the tempo and then try and change the pitch of one of the song to make it go off key :)

    When I changed kill this love BPM to reach God's menu ,I noticed that blackpink members are sounding like chipmunks🐿
    So I calculated the average BPM of kill this love and God's menu (144 BPM) and when I tried this time, Their voice was pretty normal
    Do you think it's a good method for making mashups that contain tons of songs with different BPM?

    • @ThaMonkeySquad

      If u change the bpm like the way I show ik the 2nd tutorial the voice will be maintained, please watch it :) the best way to answer your question is to test out a bunch of different bpm and see if it sounds too slow or too fast. I have to pay tax of the 3 dollars but it's a lot more than what I earn through RUclips so it is worth it! I'm glad I could inspire a young person like you and u show a lot of passion to make it work so I believe in you! Remember I'm still on my journey and still working hard, it's been 2 years so it is possible to get it to work, it just takes time and effort 😊

      Thank you so much for believing in me! You just gave me more confidence that I’ll be successful. It feels really good that you, my idol, believes in me. I will work hard and achieve my dream! Again, thank you for helping me^^
