    Excellent tutorial! Thanks for the tips...going replace all four solenoids, cam position sensors and install the pigtails on the solenoids on my E350 and avoid the crazy dealership prices.

      Hello what problem did you have? Rattle souns for few seconds when you start your car? Did these parts fix your problem?

      @@xhole7 I did it as preventative maintenance on my E350 because it had 110k miles and didn't want oil leaking from the original solenoids or cam position sensors wiring wicking into the main wiring harness causing more problems. I already had the pigtails installed by previous owner ( it was a CPO purchase by me).

    My code reader says p0025 ,I replaced both magnets ,the wires have oil in them so would that keep the car from starting and how do I clean the oil out of the wires,electrical spray?

    Wouldn't the tie wraps constrict any oil leaking and created further issues?

    Is this the same procedure that you can do on a v8 e550 ?

    You didn’t replace the solenoids. You replaced the adjust magnets that are mounted OVER the solenoids

      I'm about to buy one of these cars and the guy took care of it, except getting his oil changed on time. I think the oil contaminated the solenoid and caused a check engine light. I need to know how to fix/replace it so my wife can have a reliable car

      I think you need to check the definition of a solenoid as these are solenoids. The part you are referring to is the spool valve

    Thanks for the video! About the extensión cables, whats its their function, is ti necessary to install them?

    • @co7366
      @co7366 4 месяца назад +1

      Prevents oil from spewing through the cable all the way into the ECM connector, causing thousands of $ in damage. Extension cable prevents this pretty much a precautionary thing. Some put them on cam sensors too

    Can you do a video of this on a 2012 glk350 4 matic

    GL 450 2008 My power steering unit is taller and there is no room to get a wrench in there to remove the bottom bolts on the magnet and sensor.

      Yes thank you! I’ve been waiting for a response on tnis one. I have a 2012 gl450 and I couldn’t fit any wrench in there for the life of me. I’ll try the flexible rachet extension. If that doesn’t work than no choice but to remove the power steering reservoir. Please let me know what you find out. Thanks

    Great tutorial. Curious that you didnt lubricate the orings on the camshaft magnets and solenoids. 1/4" spanner is excellent tool in this demonstrations
