    Do you find it easier to practice chords or progressions going up chromatically or do you also practice using the circle of fifths/fourths to make it more challenging?

    Lol I kept thinking to myself you know what, I know the chord families but that 3 sounds like a 1 Add2/3 but then I looked at it I was like ohhh that's what it is exactly it's just easier to call it a 3 than to call it a 1 over a 3 ext ext lol

      You can consider it a substitution to the passing chord that is the 3. The 3 is functioning as the secondary dominant leading to the 6.
