Your videos are awesome and really helpful. My Pak-9 arrived today and these days it comes with a threaded barrel! The range wouldn’t let me shoot it without a brace so no fun on adoption day.
Chris Williams That’s amazing that they had a rule like that. Unfortunate. It’s classified as a pistol so it should be good to go. You're right, gun doesn't "need" anything. My only suggestions (all very minor) would be new pistol grip, add a sling attachment. I suspect you'll eventually take off the Shockwave Blade and just throw a foam sleeve over the tube. I had the same, side-folding set up on my AK pistol but experimented with the foam sleeve and never put the Blade back on. The key was that after about a year or so of shooting the gun i just learned how to manage the recoil and loved the even more compact functionality of just a foam covered tube. I mean, why get a compact gun then stick a fixed "brace" on it...kinda defeats the purpose of a carbine/pistol hybrid type of firearm. And as a folding brace, the sling points on the Shockwave are useless. On the flip side, The Shockwave DOES provide additional, very stable shooting options. Most important, it gives you a platform to attach some of the cheek risers that CAA makes which makes a HUGE difference when aiming the gun based on your length of pull, style/geometry of gun and kind of rail + optic youre using. But this is all just gun-geek banter about the never ending possibilities of how to fine tune a firearm. Congrats on purchase, thanks for excellent vids! please keep them coming.
C Pulliam Some of my favorite guns are a couple of ar15 pistols that just have a foam covering over the buffer tubes so I know exactly what you are talking about. Just got mine today from GrabAGun. Mine came with a threaded barrel and the glock adapter in the box. Not sure if I just got lucky or if it's something to do with the Charles Daley edition. Thanks for talking me into buying this :)
oregoncoyote1 Makes too much sense. They could easily charge an extra $40-$50 if they included both mag adapters and a threaded barrel. Anyone would gladly spring for that. And it would be easy for them to do.
You can't use the shockwave stock. Only the Sig Saure SB-15 and one other only . There are only two arm braces that are ATF compliant. This isn't one of them.
I got ahold of optics planet but they informed me that the only part for the Chiappa is the glock mag adapter. I actually purchased one from buds already and two glock mags, 17 and 50 rd from Classic firearms. the 17 rd mag fits but the drum mag is a$$ backwards! It will fit but only backwards. Very strange. I enjoy your video reviews a lot, keep up the good work.
Mark Roberts The Mako angled fore grip will go on any rail on any gun. So just ask for a Mako AFG and they will have it. It isn’t specific to the Pac9. The only reason I chose the Mako handstop is it has more of a hook shape and I thought that was important because there’s nothing worse to take the fun out of shooting this than the idea of your hand slipping a little forward and getting shot. The handstop that comes with the Pak9 is ok but I wanted more safety since I take friends shooting and I don’t want them to get hurt.
That’s very true. If you want it easy to flip down with one finger it needs to be pretty loose. But it can be filed so that it won’t fall out no matter what you do. It’s just one or the other. It can be fine tuned to whatever is important to the user.
I tried and major failed tapping and drilling my Pak9. Maybe mine was manufactured a little different because the back plate is extremely strong and thick. I broke 2 taps and a drill in the process before I quit .. lol .. I broke down and just took her to a gunsmith. I wonder if anyone else is having trouble
jonathan brady Romanian Firearms are famous for inconsistency in the specifications on the parts the firearms are made from. Many factories pumping out the same parts with assembly often happening somewhere else. I’m not too surprised that this can happen. Sorry about your struggle but it will be worth it in the end.
Noor Alhashimi Yes a sling is an excellent idea. One point would be perfect for this. I have a flashlight for it that works great but I took it off so I can work on it. Seems in the summer I spend more time shooting and in the winter I spend more time building and tinkering so it’s all fun.
Video a little old but hoping to get answer. I want to order one but am confused with stabilizer attachment. I thought it came threaded(the pre-drilled hole) on rear for a stabilizer to simply be screwed in without having to modify it?
That would be great if it were that simple. There is a threaded hole but the adapters have two holes in a different spot so it doesn’t help. But if I were to do it over I would use a product that didn’t exist when I built mine. Go the CNC Warrior’s website. They have an adapter that is held onto the receiver with the grip screw so it’s very easy to install and requires no permanent modification.
The custom safety in your video I ordered one and it’s not sliding up because of the top part of the pak 9 did you do any modifications to it and also does your Glock mags feel lose?
James Evans I didn’t do any modification to the safety for the Pak9 but I have had to for other ak receiver based weapons. You can carefully bend the safety as well as the top cover because they are thin sheet metal. Tweak em till they work well together. It’s common to do this. Also, my Glock stick mags do wobble just a bit in the magwell but they work flawlessly however my 50 round Glock drums fit tight. Go figure!
To start with what you did to upgrade your pistol looks good. Now, you need to change the arm brace out to a Sig Saure SB-15 brace to be ATF legal. There's one other brace only that is legal to use and it's "MPX PSB" only and remove the thumb rest you put for a hand stop and don't put any kind of grip angled or straight on the front because you'll make the classification of your pistol to a "AOW" Any Other Weapon. Without a tax stamp that's ten years in federal prison and a $10,000.00 fine if you get caught ! Do not shoulder your weapon because if you get caught they'll say it's an "SBR" Short Barreled Rifle. And you can't have sights or an optic on it to where you have to shoulder your weapon to be able to see thru the sights or optic. That can make it an SBR too ! Be careful what you do and be safe. Don't give ATF any excuses to arrest you.
What I did was perfectly legal at the time I did it. I can’t be held liable for the ATF changing their mind all the time. I appreciate your concern but I don’t think what you are saying is correct.
I don’t think the micro Draco hand guard will work without some serious modifications. If they make a binary trigger for AK’s then it will probably work in this.
@@MaxHeadspace9mm No, they would have, but I didnt want to get rid of at 250. I know they need a profit. I a higher trade value with a Colt Trooper MK3 .357 that was given to me. I loved that gun, but I have a few other Colts that are show pieces. I have a Diamondback .38 nickel, and Python. I'll miss it for sure, but they did a straight up trade plus 5 for background check.
Hey new sub here and it's due to this series of videos as I find them very informative and well done. Where you able to get in contact with Chiappa and get those replacement buffers?
+The Green Man Chiappa is pretty good about aftermarket parts and service. The trick is waiting on hold. Be patient. Their parts number is 1-937-835-5000. Good luck and remember patience😉👍
It’s something I found on Amazon back when I got stuff on Amazon. It’s just a little $20 “sound forwarder”probably made in China. It’s steel and has knurling on the outside and is really durable and well made. I got two.
Benjimen Franklin That would be fun. For me I like that this simulated full auto so easily. It has a fantastic trigger which seems to be lacking on the Mac 11. Also higher capacity mags for the PAK 9. Great foregrip which aids in stability. To each his own. Very different platforms for sure. I’ve toyed with getting a Mac for a long time. Huge coolness factor.
Tim Mead The pistol arm brace is a Kak Blade by Shockwave industries. It’s my favorite pistol arm brace and also the cheapest. I bought the buffer tube from them as well because it won’t go on a regular buffer tube. The folding mechanism is from Carolina Shooter supply and it’s called their Pushbutton Folder. You will want to get the Pig Snout Adapter for that. The safety came from the Krebs custom website. They have several for the ak type but this is the one for stamped receivers. If you want to avoid drilling for mounting the folder there is a mount at Tromix you can order that bolts into the hole left by the swivel that comes on the Pak9. Also there is an adapter at USMachienegun that you can use if you don’t want to drill and tap your receiver. All are good options. Some easier than others. Some cost more some less. The choices are part of the fun!
Hey max. I'm trying to install an sob47 pistol brace on my pak 9 but doesn't seem to be going in right. The grip the pak9 comes with has something like a beaver tail that is causing the connection part of the brace to go under the grip and now the grip is sticing up in the back. Do i need a different grip now?
Nvm i had to ghetto rig it but i got it. Had to put my lynx 12 grip on my pak 9 and my pak9 grip on my lynx 12 but finally got it. Supposedly they're all interchangeable but not really
Guero M Haha! Just got home from work and saw your comment too late to help. A lot of people like to change the grip for some reason. I happen to like it. It’s big and since the pistol is kind of heavy for one handed shooting I think a big grip makes it easier to handle. But it sounds like you got it worked out just fine. And you learned something I didn’t know. Are you liking how it’s coming together?
@@MaxHeadspace9mm i love it. Makes a huge difference being able to shoulder and have a cheek rest. Didnt plan on changing grips but had to improvise. The grip on the lynx 12 is alot thinner but its ok for now. Maybe ill get something better later
S.A Masquerade Haha! Yes. The longer I have it the more I like it and the more useful it becomes. I’m coming to think it may be one of the most versatile firearms for civilians I’ve ever found.
Anti-Heros RUclips That’s a tough one🤔. You may want to look at an ar9 variant. Those are pretty easy to swap out barrels. But the Pak9 is an akm based platform and the barrel is riveted in. If your Pak9 barrel is threaded you could get a long muzzle device to add length.
Kyle Carlton Oliver Haha! Yeah, I was doing this upside down for the camera. After I got done and noticed what I’d done I asked myself, “ do I want to reshoot that whole segment just because of that?” I’ve noticed that extremely few people pay that much attention to things like that. I think you’re the first! Congrats on being so observant. After 20,000 views you are the first to notice that! I promise I do know which end of the red dot to look through when I shoot with it!😆😆😆
jasonmac119 Is that a Glock mag release button extender? Like the kind you put on a Glock pistol? Those require you to drill a hole in the button to attach it. On a Glock it’s plastic but on the mag release button on the Glock magwell adapter for the PAK9 it’s metal so it may be slightly more challenging. But if you just want a Glock magwell for the PAK9 call Chiappa and they will fix you up with one for $27.
Both were available to me at the time I got my PAK9. The reason I chose the PAK9 is it’s smaller and wood just wasn’t important to me but all the extra rails on the PAK9 was important to me. I’ve heard good things about the NAK9 and I know folks who have them so it’s mostly a cosmetic issue.
Single point is what I would do if I do. The KAK Blade brace has places for the straps to loop through. If you don’t like that location because it’s a folder there is a threaded hole in the hinge mechanism that a sling mount can’t be added to.
I’ve installed that trigger in a few of my ak’s so I’m familiar with them and they’re excellent. My sense is that the trigger in the PAK9 is a regular ak trigger so it should work.
David Bertram It’s the non milled non Saiga model. The basic one for stamped receivers. But even so it puts the scratch about a 64th of an inch outside the old one. Double scratch ak! Nothing wrong with that! Still works perfectly.
You wanna make it shorter? That’s possible but out of my wheelhouse. It would be a major rebuild. I think the barrel could be shortened a bit. But this is about as much as an ak receiver can be cut down already.
Why wouldn't you tap the hole already in the pistol and drill a hole in the adapter? That way the adapter still works and your rear trunnion doesn't look like a bag of ass....
The PAK9 takes either Glock mags or Beretta mags. Both are plentiful and can be bought online or at Gun stores. I would say the Glock mags are even more plentiful but they are more expensive unless you get the off brand like Promag. I have both magwells for mine and I found 35 round Mekgar mags online from multiple sources for $19 each.
I really want to do this but i have only 1 concern. Do you have to register as an sbr? I just dont know where i stand legally. Ive heard yes and no so any clarification would be much appreciated.
breakin tips No you do not have to register it as an sbr. It’s legally a pistol. Because I used a shockwave blade brace it’s a pistol. If you go to their website there is a link to the letter from the atf that says so. I have a video called, “tactical Tuesday, Pistol Arm Brace” where I do my best to make sense out of this confusing set of laws.
Awesome! Thanks for getting back! I tremendously appreciate it. I would assume the same with adding a threaded barrel and like a fake can or muzzle break right? So stoked! Have you shot it at public ranges with no issues? Unfortunately that’s about all I have available to me to shoot at...
breakin tips Yes the threaded barrel is fine. I’ve had it at ranges and shouldered it the whole time. Nobody said a word. I think by now enough pistol arm braces are out there that range masters know them by sight. And the atf said officially that shouldering is legal so I really can’t see why anyone would get a tax stamp and go sbr when they could go pistol arm brace. Much less hassle.
GameCritic101 I’ve fired thousands of rounds through it. It isn’t Glock reliable. There are occasional hiccups but it’s always extremely quick and easy to clear. It’s reliable enough and easy enough for me to really enjoy shooting it. It almost never chokes on quality ammo. On my cheap bulk 9mm I may get one stovepipe every 200-500 rounds.
steve koelliker No. I haven’t done that yet. It is a blowback action so that could be a problem. Next time I’m out shooting I will give that a try. It may be annoying but I don’t think there is enough powder residue from what I’ve observed to be too problematic.
EK 47 RK 75 Normally I would be all in for that but it’s already the best trigger I’ve ever found on a sub gun. And it bump fires so easy I can’t see how it can be improved upon. Really perfect for the kind of shooting I do with this. But maybe the ALG trigger bow shape would be better..... you got me thinking 🤔
I think the first question you need to answer is- do you also want a light on this gun? And if so are you willing to consider a light/ laser combo unit? That would be more compact, cheaper and easier to use that two separate units. I have a review of the Sightmark light/ laser combo on my channel and after four years I’m still really happy with it. Sightmark has upgraded that product with one that has an aluminum housing for another $30 and if I were to be shopping for that now I would be inclined to consider it if money wasn’t a problem. Though I’ve had zero issues with the model I did get. If you just want a laser only then the main question is- how powerful? A decent laser for most nighttime and dusk applications should run you less than $70. Just be certain that the controls are placed in a good location for you to use with the unit mounted to one of the available rails on the PAK9. It should be easy to use. Now if you want a laser powerful enough for daylight use it’s going to cost $300 and up and they are quite large but I’ve considered that to be a tempting option many times.
Emory Griffin No. Not dumb at all. The PAK9 has these two short rails on top near the front that should be perfect for a flash light or laser or both. I’m guessing they put them there for something like that.
Jonathan Vera My pins were staked from the factory. I checked that before I fired it the first time because some have complained about that problem so no I haven’t had any problem with loose pins. I will have to look at mine again because I didn’t swap my trigger but I don’t remember ever doing anything with the shepherds hook. If there even is one🤔
Jonathan Vera I really like the trigger on mine because it enables bump fire like no weapon I’ve ever seen. So I didn’t mess with it. So when you ask about pins walking I assumed you were referring to the ones in your bolt that keep the firing pin inside the bolt. People report problems there. But are you having problems with your fcg pins coming out?
No but they feel like I could easily press them out so I am kind of concerned for I thought I’d just ask I’ve barely got mine today so I am going threw the upgrade process and after watching your vid I noticed you didn’t cover those topics so I thought I’d just get your thoughts on it since you have done all this work on yours so far and the round count
Jonathan Vera Yeah I’ve got close to 4000 through it and it’s just fine. I bet each one has its own little quirks. My pins wiggle but don’t look like they would just fall out. The shepherds hook is mostly for ease of reassembling the trigger group. I don’t think it’s a bad design and I’ve found over time I can install a trigger group with a shepherds hook just as easy as with the retainer plate. Just something to get used to.
Guero M It was a tough choice between them. What pushed me toward the Pak9 was it was slightly smaller and had rails. I think the Nak9 is a nicer looking gun with the wood forend and all. But in the end I went with the more “tactical” Pak9.
Shawn Mccarty Its a KAW Valley. It cost me $38 and I got it from Joebob Outfitters. I did a video called “Cheap Gun Supressors”. It’s about this one and a CNC Warrior comp and shows what a difference they make.
quint0nJ Yes there are several now that didn’t exist when I did my build. Go to Tromix or US Machiengun and there are quite a few options that are easier than what I did.
DKclark329 I think that would require me to get another Pak9 and start over. 🤔....tempting. I’ve been looking for a good excuse to get another one and you may have just provided it!😀
That is an excellent PAK9. I'm loving mine as well.
Great, simple, durable platform.
What could be better?
Wow! Minus the muzzle device, I was planning on modifying one of these pretty much the same way. Good post, man. Liked and subbed.
Your videos are awesome and really helpful. My Pak-9 arrived today and these days it comes with a threaded barrel! The range wouldn’t let me shoot it without a brace so no fun on adoption day.

Makes too much sense. They could easily charge an extra $40-$50 if they included both mag adapters and a threaded barrel. Anyone would gladly spring for that. And it would be easy for them to do.
@@MaxHeadspace9mm check out the vid on this page which talks about the new version - www.atlanticfirearms.com/products/chiappa-ak-9-pistol
Were you able to get in contact with Chiappa for the replacement for the plastic buffer? Or better yet finding a metal option?
You can't use the shockwave stock. Only the Sig Saure SB-15 and one other only . There are only two arm braces that are ATF compliant. This isn't one of them.
Nice 💯
You should make a follow up video with the whole rig put together
Sudz1911
I did a few follow ups on my channel that show me using it after the build. I’m working on one now😉
Great video I just grabbed one looking to add the sight after my glock mag adapter comes in I was wondering what type of red dot sight are you using
Thank you Max, well done man, Liked and subbed, now I gotta have one too once the bank account replenishes..
Tim Mead
Money comes and goes but guns last forever....
Mark Roberts
The Mako angled fore grip will go on any rail on any gun.
Is there a helical mag for the pak9 available
Sweet gun, im waiting for mine to get to the FFL dealer!
WCAR PumpIron
When I got mine I put it on layaway. Took 3 months for me to pay it off. Tom Petty said it best; “ The Waiting is the Hardest Part”.
Get the new franklin binary trigger for the ak
Where did you get your muzzle from
I've seen videos of other AKs that have a notch on the safety amd if you bump them hard enough the safety will fall
That’s very true. If you want it easy to flip down with one finger it needs to be pretty loose. But it can be filed so that it won’t fall out no matter what you do. It’s just one or the other. It can be fine tuned to whatever is important to the user.
You can still change the Grip add a flash likght or a lazer!
Troy Mcdonald
Good ideas. Tactical ninja hot rod sub gun🤔
Where did you find (purchased) the safety that you are pointing out at 17:26, and what is it called.
Krebs custom safety. Some of the best upgrade parts are on Krebscustom.com
I tried and major failed tapping and drilling my Pak9. Maybe mine was manufactured a little different because the back plate is extremely strong and thick. I broke 2 taps and a drill in the process before I quit .. lol .. I broke down and just took her to a gunsmith. I wonder if anyone else is having trouble
jonathan brady
Romanian Firearms are famous for inconsistency in the specifications on the parts the firearms are made from. Many factories pumping out the same parts with assembly often happening somewhere else. I’m not too surprised that this can happen. Sorry about your struggle but it will be worth it in the end.
Yes is definitely was worth it! Now I’m really having fun with this gun. Thanks for all the content you’ve made on it!
Max Headspace9mm Is tapping threads really necessary? Couldn't you just drill a hole and then put a bolt and locknut on there?
Rob
Sure you could. It’s a little harder to get a nut on the inside but you could do it that way if you prefer.
Hey buddy you did a grate job. You Need one point sling and good flashlight and good to go.
I want to get a red laser for mine.
Noor Alhashimi
Yes a sling is an excellent idea. One point would be perfect for this. I have a flashlight for it that works great but I took it off so I can work on it. Seems in the summer I spend more time shooting and in the winter I spend more time building and tinkering so it’s all fun.
I am with Noor on this a light and sling(Totally one point) is a grand idea.
15:30 looks like the red dot is backwards. How's it shoot like that? :D
giantpune
Haha! I was wondering how long it would be before someone noticed that! You are very observant.
@@MaxHeadspace9mm sounds like a plan. Thanks for that super quick reply. Have a good one man.
TUBE SURFER
You too. Good luck with your build.
Solid Video! Lots of good info! thanks for the upload. I Think I need to get one! The only other thing is make it full auto. ;-) just kidding.
glockman1727ak47
Feels good in the hand!😉
Can you post a link to that custom safety? Thats one thing I want if I get this, thank you.
The custom safety in your video I ordered one and it’s not sliding up because of the top part of the pak 9 did you do any modifications to it and also does your Glock mags feel lose?
James Evans
I didn’t do any modification to the safety for the Pak9 but I have had to for other ak receiver based weapons.
I was told u can convert this into a different caliber is it true?
Any grip attached, slide in stocks that fold? I don't want to drill into the receiver. Im thinking about a buffer tube w/foam too. Can't find.
Mark Roberts
There’s a company called USmachienegun that has something just like what you are describing.
Can a micro draco handguard fit this gun as well as a binary trigger
I don’t think the micro Draco hand guard will work without some serious modifications.
If they make a binary trigger for AK’s then it will probably work in this.
can you put all the part sources in the link are below the video?
Now that you've went through the disassemble. Do you think that a slide fire stock for ak would work?? Particularly the ssak-47 xrs?
HustleHardxXxclusive
I’m sure it would.
Have to get one of these.
I’m positive you will. With patience anything can be accomplished.
I got one. It came at a high price trade, but I cant wait to start with the Mods. First is to find a higher cap mag.
Ted Sullivan
If it takes Barretta mags then Mec Gar has em for $19.99 each. 35 rounders! Yahoo!
Ted Sullivan
So did they take the M85?
@@MaxHeadspace9mm No, they would have, but I didnt want to get rid of at 250. I know they need a profit. I a higher trade value with a Colt Trooper MK3 .357 that was given to me. I loved that gun, but I have a few other Colts that are show pieces. I have a Diamondback .38 nickel, and Python. I'll miss it for sure, but they did a straight up trade plus 5 for background check.
Since it’s a compact gun for close combat mostly I would put a laser on it.

I like the way you think🤔

That’s totally evil.....😏
You need a light and pressure pad
Hey new sub here and it's due to this series of videos as I find them very informative and well done. Where you able to get in contact with Chiappa and get those replacement buffers?
+The Green Man
Chiappa is pretty good about aftermarket parts and service. The trick is waiting on hold. Be patient. Their parts number is 1-937-835-5000. Good luck and remember patience😉👍
Thanks for the information, I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
Max what is the best way to remove the sling adapter.
Lead Therapy
I just reached inside with some pliers to keep the inside part from spinning and twisted the outside loop. Came right out.
Thanks for the quick reply, That's what I thought I just wanted to be sure.
Hey got mine thanks to your videos.. what’s the muzzle device?
It’s something I found on Amazon back when I got stuff on Amazon. It’s just a little $20 “sound forwarder”probably made in China. It’s steel and has knurling on the outside and is really durable and well made. I got two.
Gee I thought the AMD-65 was short. That's too short. I think I would go with the M11-9 instead of that for a fun 9mm.
Benjimen Franklin
That would be fun.
On the website it says this weighs almost 9 pounds. That can’t be correct can it?
Yes it is a heavy brute. It’s a blowback operated gun with a big, heavy bolt. It’s a great, simple system but it is heavy.
Max, may I trouble you for the links to the parts you used ? Thank you and Please enjoy your Holidays..
Tim Mead
The pistol arm brace is a Kak Blade by Shockwave industries.
Any link for the safety with the bolt catch?
Check out the description of this video. It’s also in the comments because people ask for it all the time.
Guero M
Haha!
Awesome.
S.A Masquerade
Haha! Yes. The longer I have it the more I like it and the more useful it becomes. I’m coming to think it may be one of the most versatile firearms for civilians I’ve ever found.
Where can I purchase the safety lever for the Chiappa Pak9?
Krebs Custom.
Will Have to get the Stamped or Milled safety lever?
Darryl J. Holliday get the one for stamped receivers.
Is that a Krebs MK6 notched safety lever for the AK47 which you used?
Mike Imbasciani
Akm6 markIV is what I used.
I LOVE IT
BILL KELLY
Ohhh yeah!👍
Where can I by a longer rifle barrel for the PAK-9. I want to run this as a 9mm carbine
Anti-Heros RUclips
That’s a tough one🤔. You may want to look at an ar9 variant. Those are pretty easy to swap out barrels. But the Pak9 is an akm based platform and the barrel is riveted in. If your Pak9 barrel is threaded you could get a long muzzle device to add length.
*puts red dot on backwards**all credibility destroyed* lol
Kyle Carlton Oliver
Haha!
I promise I do know which end of the red dot to look through when I shoot with it!😆😆😆
Is that a suppressor or a blast deflector? It looks bad ass.
I have been wanting to try an extended Glock mag release on mine
jasonmac119
Is that a Glock mag release button extender? Like the kind you put on a Glock pistol? Those require you to drill a hole in the button to attach it. On a Glock it’s plastic but on the mag release button on the Glock magwell adapter for the PAK9 it’s metal so it may be slightly more challenging. But if you just want a Glock magwell for the PAK9 call Chiappa and they will fix you up with one for $27.
how does this compare to the Draco NAK9 that accepts Glock Magazines, new today 3-12, 2020 for $489
Both were available to me at the time I got my PAK9. The reason I chose the PAK9 is it’s smaller and wood just wasn’t important to me but all the extra rails on the PAK9 was important to me. I’ve heard good things about the NAK9 and I know folks who have them so it’s mostly a cosmetic issue.
@@MaxHeadspace9mm Thanx, kinda what I figured
Put on a circle 10 charging handle extension.
Eric Switzer
That’s a good idea!🤔
How would you add a sling back?
Single point is what I would do if I do. The KAK Blade brace has places for the straps to loop through. If you don’t like that location because it’s a folder there is a threaded hole in the hinge mechanism that a sling mount can’t be added to.
Have you tried shooting It without the buffer?
Hey Max, do you know if the ALG AKT lightning bow trigger will work in the Pak 9? Thanks
I’ve installed that trigger in a few of my ak’s so I’m familiar with them and they’re excellent.
My sense is that the trigger in the PAK9 is a regular ak trigger so it should work.
@@MaxHeadspace9mm Thanks. I have one on the way from KY Gun Co. Your videos on this gun are awesome!
Exactly Which Krebs safety did you use, ordered my pak 9 a couple days ago😁😁😁 wanna get the same one
David Bertram
It’s the non milled non Saiga model. The basic one for stamped receivers. But even so it puts the scratch about a 64th of an inch outside the old one. Double scratch ak! Nothing wrong with that! Still works perfectly.
@@MaxHeadspace9mm thank you sir!!!!
Flashlight in side rail
Excellent idea. Thanks!
Got anything on chopping the receiver ???
You wanna make it shorter? That’s possible but out of my wheelhouse. It would be a major rebuild. I think the barrel could be shortened a bit. But this is about as much as an ak receiver can be cut down already.
I can't find the Mako hand guard anywhere on line. Any help?
Mark Roberts
Optics Planet has em for $36. Cheaper than mine was😉
How much u charge to do my pak9mm just like that
How did you thread the barrel?

Haha! You getting one?
What muzzle device is that?
i loov this
Trent Leach
It’s a really fun gun that can do just about anything you want. The sky is the limit.
Why wouldn't you tap the hole already in the pistol and drill a hole in the adapter?
That way the adapter still works and your rear trunnion doesn't look like a bag of ass....
Are there any mags on the market that fit in the mag well that take 9mm
The PAK9 takes either Glock mags or Beretta mags. Both are plentiful and can be bought online or at Gun stores. I would say the Glock mags are even more plentiful but they are more expensive unless you get the off brand like Promag. I have both magwells for mine and I found 35 round Mekgar mags online from multiple sources for $19 each.
Great gun ,thas wat I was gonna say just add a sling,or granade launcher hahahaha nice work I know wat my new gun gonna be
I really want to do this but i have only 1 concern. Do you have to register as an sbr? I just dont know where i stand legally. Ive heard yes and no so any clarification would be much appreciated.
breakin tips
No you do not have to register it as an sbr.
Unfortunately that’s about all I have available to me to shoot at...
breakin tips
Yes the threaded barrel is fine.
How reliable is this? How many rounds have you fired?
GameCritic101
I’ve fired thousands of rounds through it.
It isn’t Glock reliable. There are occasional hiccups but it’s always extremely quick and easy to clear. It’s reliable enough and easy enough for me to really enjoy shooting it. It almost never chokes on quality ammo. On my cheap bulk 9mm I may get one stovepipe every 200-500 rounds.
tactical flashlight
Have you ever fired it left handed? I’m concerned about getting Powder blowback in my face like I did with my Hi-Point 9mm carbine.
steve koelliker
No. I haven’t done that yet. It is a blowback action so that could be a problem. Next time I’m out shooting I will give that a try. It may be annoying but I don’t think there is enough powder residue from what I’ve observed to be too problematic.
How about a ALG firing control group for your gun.
EK 47 RK 75
Normally I would be all in for that but it’s already the best trigger I’ve ever found on a sub gun. And it bump fires so easy I can’t see how it can be improved upon. Really perfect for the kind of shooting I do with this. But maybe the ALG trigger bow shape would be better..... you got me thinking 🤔
Let us know
It’s illegal to put a backstock.
I need a laser for this gun but dont know which to buy
@@MaxHeadspace9mm didnt expect u to reply now im subbin
@@MaxHeadspace9mm but which one did you get and where? Did u have to buy a rail? Lol this just my second gun so the question might be dumb
Emory Griffin
No. Not dumb at all. The PAK9 has these two short rails on top near the front that should be perfect for a flash light or laser or both. I’m guessing they put them there for something like that.
Emory Griffin
thanks for the sub!😉
Do the pins walk out? And what about replacing the Shepard’s hook?
Jonathan Vera
My pins were staked from the factory. I checked that before I fired it the first time because some have complained about that problem so no I haven’t had any problem with loose pins. I will have to look at mine again because I didn’t swap my trigger but I don’t remember ever doing anything with the shepherds hook. If there even is one🤔
Max Headspace9mm do you have a picture lol or do you think the retaining plate is an option because I don’t think mine are
Jonathan Vera
I really like the trigger on mine because it enables bump fire like no weapon I’ve ever seen.
Jonathan Vera
Yeah I’ve got close to 4000 through it and it’s just fine.
Is there a 80% kit ???
Haha! I wish!
Have u tried the nak 9? And if so do u think its better than the pak?
Guero M
It was a tough choice between them. What pushed me toward the Pak9 was it was slightly smaller and had rails. I think the Nak9 is a nicer looking gun with the wood forend and all. But in the end I went with the more “tactical” Pak9.
What is the comp you’re running?
Shawn Mccarty
Its a KAW Valley. It cost me $38 and I got it from Joebob Outfitters. I did a video called “Cheap Gun Supressors”. It’s about this one and a CNC Warrior comp and shows what a difference they make.
Is there a stock option that doesn't require drilling into the firearm??
quint0nJ
Yes there are several now that didn’t exist when I did my build. Go to Tromix or US Machiengun and there are quite a few options that are easier than what I did.
Max Headspace9mm okay thanks I'm just not confident in my tapping skills haha
Max Headspace9mm, thanks for the update! Maybe you can do a quick video showing some new options that are currently available?
DKclark329
I think that would require me to get another Pak9 and start over. 🤔....tempting. I’ve been looking for a good excuse to get another one and you may have just provided it!😀
Do it with a NAK 9 next time! Same manufacturer with standard hand guards.
