I do Blight every season to get my cash flow rolling. A couple of notes - Burning ground from meteors is OP. Even if a monster is immune to flame towers, the burning ground still wrecks them. I go for 25% increased effect of empowering towers as my other anoint. If you're just starting out, start with two amber and one sepia. Once you have built up some Oils. Switch to 2 Amber and 1 Azure or 1 Crimson to increase rewards. This alone, even with a crappy build will allow you to take in T13+ blighted maps with relative ease. Once you have a decent build you can do whatever you want and really rake in the currency. It's not really worth it to alch or corrupt maps. Just run them blue. Watch for "Cannot be Stunned" like Ziz said. Also, cannot be slowed below base value is kind of annoying as well. Ravaged maps are not worth it unless you absolutely know what you're doing. Just sell them for 15c a pop or what they are (they're typically 15c, regardless of tier). The offscreen not killing monsters is still lame. There will be some maps that, unless you have a really good build, they are impossible. I think it's Silo that is the worst for this. It almost always starts with a line in one direction with towers far away from the pump and then immediately starts a line in the opposite direction with towers far away as well. It's awful. Similar to what Ziz showed here, the best layouts are the ones that would be shitty to run a normal map in. The cramped/maze-like maps.
if you support your lvl 3 seismic tower with a lvl 3 support tower the mobs will get perma stunned, incase they are immune to seismic you just place chilling tower (not fully upgraded!) with the ring anoint "Your Chilling Towers freeze enemies for 0.2 seconds while they are affected by chilling beams" and these mobs will get perma stunned aswell
@@Afridqvist yeah, you can see in the video that the stun tower in proximity of the support tower perma stuns the mobs, but I would still place one freezing tower for the immune mobs
@@Afridqvist ideally you would want all 3 for a guaranteed "stun-lock" on a choke-point, I usually go for stun + empower, or replace the stun if the lanes in that area have stun-tower immune monsters
@@Afridqvist Yup, lvl 3 stun and freeze (with "Your Chilling Towers freeze enemies for 0.2 seconds while they are affected by chilling beams") under an empower completely shuts down every lane within range. Just a freeze with "Your Chilling Towers freeze enemies for 0.2 seconds while they are affected by chilling beams" can pretty much shutdown any lane that isn't freeze immune. I forget if there is a limit to the number of mobs it can freeze though.
a few more pointers for anyone who happens to read this and cares for blight - 1. monsters action speed cannot be modified below base value map modifier bricks chilling towers similarly to how stun immunity bricks stun towers. 2. meteor tower burning ground damages fire immune portal units too, thats why that anoint is extra valuable, it generally makes it the best dps tower even if there are a lot of fire immume portals. they dont stack incredibly well though, so sometimes having an arc tower or a scout tower might be more valuable dps wise alongside a meteor in a cluster. 3. empowering towers are incredibly strong and i recommend everyone to either get empowering range or empowering effect anoints alongside the meteor. 4. always build in clusters, build around your empowering towers, if there are even 20 lanes and they need to go through a cluster of empower + chilling + stun + meteor, they will never go through. 5. if you have a bad layout, always prioritize CC over damage. 6. if you can afford it, always have a glacial cage tower as well as a sentinel tower somewhere on top/close to the pipe, its a nice stop gap to any stragglers that got through your defenses somehow, probably when you werent in range for a moment.
Blight nodes on passive tree are pretty potent too. you can have blight added on benchcraft for 4c (on red maps thats always worth it). There is blight tower cost and lucky chests there too. Also one big upside of Blight is that it does not add modifiers that can brick builds (like expedition, Eldritch Altars). Finnaly you get good variety of rewards which helps with map sustain, map currency and crafting materials sustain. Do you know if Dance of Destruction atlas passive affect blight mobs in blighted maps?
The fact that the screen limit thing with towers hasn't been changed/fixed in all these years - it's the most infuriating thing about this mechanic and almost completely invalidates 99% of the "Tower" nodes that spawn.

This is all well and good, but how do you placed down towers when there are none spawning in your lanes? The amount of times that I have had a single pustule blight where the pustule spawns less than half a screen from the pump and there are no towers that spawn. Even with massive DPS the monsters still get through due to numbers. I have also unfortunately have a blight spawn with lanes all in different directions, and only had one tower spawn right on one pustule, the other four lanes having no towers. Kind of makes it impossible to do blights that way. Can you please find an instance like that Ziz and show us how it can be done flawlessly?

Around the 5 minute mark - how is he able to tell which "nodes" (is this what it is called?) will travel through the area where he is building the towers? As in, I can see all of the different spawning types of places on the bottom of the screen, but I cannot see where they are located on the map.
Instead of chill ring enchant I pick Empowering tower effect. With t3 empowering tower chill tower perma freezes enemies and stun tower perma stuns letting you stop both types of enemies. Also burning ground from meteor damages enemies immune to fire tower. This setup lets you fully afk blight revaged maps, just gotta sit in range of all towers (when you go about 2 screens away, towers deactivate).
I'd love to see a guide about 2 things: 1. how and when to change your gear when going in to red maps. I usually have no problems at all getting to maps and getting started, but once im at a point where its unlikely to get upgrades from just rares that drops, i get stuck. 2. A not so beginner guide on getting faster to maps. Which quests / zones should be skipped, things like that.
I mean you answered both your questions already. When you get to a point where you get stuck in maps (damage and defense isn’t keeping up) THAT is when you upgrade gear. Either straight up buy it on trade or get into essence and fossils for crafting. As far as being faster in maps, just skip all content that makes you slow (legion, expedition, ritual) and only do stuff your build can do fast. Strongboxes, harbinger and exarc/eater shrines.
As long as you can farm the currency for upgrades, that will solve your problem of advancing deeper into maps and ultimate endgame. Just make sure you have a build capable (and worth throwing money at) that can do it in the first place. While with a crapload of currency, a HH or Mageblood and some mirror tier gear can make any build viable, this isn't reasonable for 99% of players. It's also important to know which upgrades are the most important for your build and know what your defensive weaknesses are so you can assess them over time as well as what stats really impact your build's DPS the most. Some builds are great until red maps and hit a wall, while others are decent until they get a few important upgrades and then their top tier. Gear makes all the difference. Especially little things like catalysts on jewelry , anointing your amulet, getting good bases, getting good eater/searing mods on your gear. Edit - it's OK to do yellow maps btw. You don't have to push. There are people who farm yellow and low tier red maps until they have 50+ divines. It's all perspective.
I am getting wrecked by blight chance encounters in my map. Did the seismic + chill but it doesn't seem to stun lock like it does in blight maps, and then my damage isn't high enough to kill them before the pump. Any advise welcomed.
you need mulitple for stun locks and u dont normally get enough to fully upgrade ur towers in maps, maybe do lower tier content that your build can do bcuz if damage is the issue your probs doing too high lvl content or ur build is just weak
Jumped on to try this tactic and it worked great, problem was the server/game crashed when i was opening the pods so I lost the map and all the loots 🙁
0.2 sec chill tower lock down + meteor tower burning round is a general consensus and then putting level 3 empower level 3 frosty and level 3 seismic in all choke points and then once thats in your chokes put meteor towers to kill everything off. Scout towers/frost cage close to pump for random slippery boys. Basically impossible to fail unless you are in a wide open layout with bad rng. Even then salvageable.
TL:DR shock->seismic for perma stun, chill for slow, empower if it'll hit any of the above, and then meteor last but not least if there's space. Close to pump is best
There is also a long standing bugged zombie rhoa, that GGG seems to have never addressed. It is undying and just slowly move towards your pump, best way to speed it up is to go as far from that mob as possible in your map. It shows up occasionally and is not a huge detriment if you have high pump life. Just a heads up for folks.
It's amazing that people have been complaining about this for over four years, and they said they would address it four years ago, and have done nothing about it at all since then. Everyone that complains about it gets hella downvoted and GGG pretends like they don't even exist. If they can't fix the bug, get rid of the monster... lazy arseholes.
place your tp directly on top of the blight pump and you will never miss be caught off guard with a mob on your pump and also if you die you respawn on top of it to defend it
Towers don't work if you can't see them?? Holy crap, that explains my YEARS of frustration and never being able to do Blight maps effectively! Wow, that is absolutely infuriating.
Chilling tower special is much better then this anoit(chilling tower chill effect) you put, because you will freeze the enemies and the freeze immunes will be stunned with the stun tower.
i would never fail blight if only it did not crash my game when i try to build a tower every 2nd-3rd encounter or blighted map :D only reason i stopped doing blight
A thing to note for those that this happens to but are just getting into it: Blights are paused while you are not on the map. So if you do crash don't worry. Don't panic. Just collect yourself and set yourself to walk back in b/c so long as you are not on the map nothing is happening. This is also a good reason to open a portal when you start a blight in maps. If you crash then you'll have to run back from the map start and will definitely lose the blight in the process but if you preemptively have a portal opened then you can come right back in on top of the blight in progress and proceed normally.
@@Shindo13371 yea its not always true, actually for me it was complete bs, i dont know how it works exactly, but i already experienced that "pause" thing, i was doing ravaged blight map, and my game crashed when mobs was like 1.5 screen away from pump when i tried to build a tower, and what do u think? i log back in, go into map just to find out that pump is already destroyed( not like instanly, when i got back first thing i saw was half dead pump and a fcking goat boss jumping onto pump to finish it off :D, which was supposed to be 1.5 screen away when i crashed". and i had tons of chilling and stun towers around pump( which i guess was not working, since the "player" was not on a map, similar to how totems stop attacking if you too far from them", and yeah portal was like 2 feet away from pump >.
@@Notnx1 The nature of how the program crashes can sometimes mean that the client "hangs" or is unresponsive but the server still recognizes the player as logged in so the simulation keeps running. The best and safest thing you can do if the client becomes unresponsive is to kill the client manually as quickly as you can so you don't end up in any awkward situations where the server is still doing things while you can't control your character. For the record, this is how all other encounters work too. There's a notorious issue where streamers and other people will log out in boss fights and then come back in to get hit by an invisible slam. This happens because the simulation is paused when the player logs out and if you log out mid-slam then come back in the simulation resumes with the slam still in progress but the graphic won't be showing anymore. This is why it is recommended after a boss log-out to not move for a moment to allow all the attacks that are mid-animation to finish.
So complete noob here to blight mechanic....only place seismic and freezing towers down, and try and get a seismic and freezing very close together. If there's another slot nearby, place empowering tower and upgrade them to max but don't specialize them?
The blight in toxic sewers was not a good enough example of a "bad blight" and neither was the blight map. It's not helpful to anyone to see you getting lucky. We need examples of actually bad scenarios so we can learn how to adapt and beat them, like getting a star shaped blight while you're a melee build. You don't have enough resources to cover all the lanes with towers and there are no choke points. The only solution seems to be to abandon it.
I wish people would stop calling it afk blight they have added so much on death effects and ranged shots that you can actually struggle to stop moving long enough to not get insta gibbed upgrading a tower
About 2 minutes in I was as confused as when I first saw this mechanic. Literally everything you said feels like you are speaking a foreign language. I really do appreciate your content and trying to make us all better at PoE, but I think unless someone has a pretty good concept of Blight to start this looks really cool, but that's about it.
Well dont want to watch whole video, 2 mins is enough... I'll give ya a tip as a blight player... you look for spot where you can place 3 turrets on each way and you build seismic in a front, freeze somewhere near it and green one. You upgrade them to 1 lvl before max and leave them like that. If you dont have mod on map that monsters speed can't go below basic value there is no way that anything will pass it even on rav-blight maps and if there will be still some problem use 0.2 sec freeze annoint. For clearing I recommend annoint for ring that meteor leaves burning ground. GL & HF for easy money.
the theme of the video is to not fail not to make money. This video did exactly what the title says, he showed the easiest way to clear blights xD mad?

...I've been enjoying blight ever since it was a league mechanic, how am I just now learning the towers stop working off screen?
Thank you for this!
Around the 5 minute mark - how is he able to tell which "nodes" (is this what it is called?) will travel through the area where he is building the towers? As in, I can see all of the different spawning types of places on the bottom of the screen, but I cannot see where they are located on the map.
On the nodes it shows the element and it has that on the actual portal as well on the map, harder to tell in bigger layouts but here it was clear
Can you do short videos like this one for other content like ritual, abyss, breach that isn’t too advanced
I'd love to see a guide about 2 things:
1. how and when to change your gear when going in to red maps.
Do you get more rewards depending on how much “tower currency” you saved?
I am getting wrecked by blight chance encounters in my map. Did the seismic + chill but it doesn't seem to stun lock like it does in blight maps, and then my damage isn't high enough to kill them before the pump. Any advise welcomed.
you need mulitple for stun locks and u dont normally get enough to fully upgrade ur towers in maps, maybe do lower tier content that your build can do bcuz if damage is the issue your probs doing too high lvl content or ur build is just weak
hey ziz, thank for the video. it help for new player and returning player as well
Jumped on to try this tactic and it worked great, problem was the server/game crashed when i was opening the pods so I lost the map and all the loots 🙁
Close to pump is best
if only blight didnt crash my game everytime(since Arch-nemesis league)
How can you tell if they are immune to stun?
Thanks for the guide. Waiting for an Incursion guide.
i was so hype for Blight-Ravaged maps...
Great info
"Enchunt" is cracking me up
i did not know blight towers stopped working if you move to far away. well that explains a lot
i always use chill tower stun for 0.2 sec and 25% more stun duration from seismic towers annoints, works best for me.
With explode glove you can have offscreen clear like 100+ mobs die every time you kill 1st in line
Never fail a blight again, until your client crashes repeatedly when trying to build towers...
I very much enjoyed blight league, but haven't gotten far enough in any league since then to farm blights.
Great vid!
place your tp directly on top of the blight pump and you will never miss be caught off guard with a mob on your pump and also if you die you respawn on top of it to defend it
once I learned how to do blight it is one of my favorite things to do now
In almost every video I see on blight, they ask not to upgrade the seismic and chill towers to T4. Why is that?
worse than T3 towers, throwing points away for a worse tower
Blight is how i start my leagues, ill farm it for a week straight and usually have enough currency to move onto my second build by the end of week 1
Towers don't work if you can't see them?? Holy crap, that explains my YEARS of frustration and never being able to do Blight maps effectively! Wow, that is absolutely infuriating.
Love blight. really do. hate the crashes and i'm tired of losing 10% of my exp if it doesn't disconnect me fast enough.
what would be the best oils for ravaged blight map if my build can clear it easily without any towers
I have a 100% success in blights I don't crash in, which means I fail more than half of them
I may not have needed this video personally but thank you for making it.
You probably want to corrupt your blighted map too, as it gives a chance to drop tainted oils.
Chilling tower special is much better then this anoit(chilling tower chill effect) you put, because you will freeze the enemies and the freeze immunes will be stunned with the stun tower.
*looks around and whisper* how did you know i keep failing
i would never fail blight if only it did not crash my game when i try to build a tower every 2nd-3rd encounter or blighted map :D only reason i stopped doing blight
This is why it is recommended after a boss log-out to not move for a moment to allow all the attacks that are mid-animation to finish.
chill effect is bad imo, and also i cant use immune response cuz they all fail with that node on
Blight is great except for when you get soul link and life regen rares. Those are a real blast when it comes to blight.
Maybe il become a blight owner next league, looks solid
My fave mechanic in the game, and I still have hard time doing this (also I got gpu upgraded so I hope I won't crash again)
Pretty wild that people have realized how to utilize "bad maps" to do specific League content.
i love blight but the fact that the towers are screen limited and sometimes you get flooded with proxi shields takes away all the fun
I could play Blight all day long without the actual Path of Exile.
I don't think I've ever completed a blight 😮
I tried blight for the first time yesterday and failed the tutorial mission lol
So complete noob here to blight mechanic....only place seismic and freezing towers down, and try and get a seismic and freezing very close together. If there's another slot nearby, place empowering tower and upgrade them to max but don't specialize them?
pog he read my mind. need gold oil x2 this league
I've always just spammed winged towers with chill stun empower supports always t3 and I never fail
The only solution seems to be to abandon it.
he said toxic sewers is a bad map but good for blight. big open maps are bad for blight so dont do them in open maps especially if your melee. cope
Meh, just spam scout towers plus 25% increased damage or range anoint and let them kill everything.
Why do I see EA b-totem x'D
This was recorded in Standard before the league was out
Well dont want to watch whole video, 2 mins is enough...
Why are you talking about blight? The prices are sky rocketing.
Hhmm so you just put freezing turret next to freeze immunity teleport where boss can come out..ziz seriously *it's time to stop*
First :)
You have a lot to learn about blight before you make a video like this tbh. Maybe consider changing your title?
the theme of the video is to not fail not to make money. This video did exactly what the title says, he showed the easiest way to clear blights xD mad?
@@xcy7240 Where did I say anything about profit? Still stuck on the umadbro thing huh? If anyone is upset it's you, trying to white knight your favorite RUclipsr 🤣.
Thanks for the video, but "try to die less than I do" is the most stupid catch phrase ever... no matter how you say it. Come up with a new one today.
