I fell in love with Matt Bomer on White Collar, and it's so crazy how we get our own ideas about someone on a show and then when we see them as their real self we are like, "Wow!" I remember being sad when I first found out he was gay, not because of homophobia, but because it felt like a loss for us women. 😂 😂 I just loved his smile on the show, and even over ten years later, he is still very attractive and has the same magnetic personality. I'm glad he is doing well and living his dream.
I was there in San Francisco at the Moscone Center, when the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, 1985, where all quilts were laid out together took up the whole of Moscone Center, and The End of Fellow Travelers was totally authentic, to that. It devastated me, I hadn't felt that sorrow for thirty+ years. I think Matt Bomer is a bright light, and his performance was breathtaking.
Hawk is absolutely a badass!! The scene with Hawk and his father is one of my favorites. Matt really knocked it out of the park and deserves the Emmy win for his portrayal of this very complex character, Hawkins Fuller.
Great interview Tony, thank you. It was great hearing Matt mentioning the movie Beginners because that's how I imagined Hawk after Skippy's passing too...
I see Hawk going to his 1st Gay Pride Parade, repairing his friendship with Lucy, becoming a philanthropist, and finding love again. Hawk will live on just like his D.C. paperweight...
@MsJuRoo I get that Skippy is the more relatable/ understandable character for many, but I gravitated towards Hawk which says a lot about Matt's performance. Hawk may not be the protest guy, but he would make sure Jerome's meds are covered and that AIDS ward gets proper funding as Skippy would have wanted..
Right after the show ended, I hated Hawk. A person who forced the person they truly want, desire, and think into suffering in order to have the stable life they wanted. But as time passed, I realized that Hawk also did not have true happiness. The true happiness that the two of them would have had if they were together. Poor Hawk and Tim.

I have watched the show twice in the past two weeks and I'm now on my third watch-through. I can't move on.
That's the HawkSkippy effect. There's life BFT and life AFT.
They are two different realities...
Me too!
Great interview! Watching Matt every day. Never boring! All the best Benson Weingarten from Berlin

Wonderful interview, Tony 😊 Thanks for sharing!
This show changed me!! Thanks for the great interview!
Loved this interview. Love Bomer. Great questions.
I know his category is tight, but I'm pulling for Matt to win! I think about his performance daily and soooo want a season 2

Matt giving off a STRONG Ray Liotta look here...that hair and chin...whew!
You do not need all this makeup, I almost didn’t recognize you Matt!!
The makeup artist needs glasses, NOW.

I love Matt Boomer, but those dang crooked pictures on the wall are driving me nuts!
Good luck
Honestly, I realized that I feel traumatized by Hawk
