I so wish you were in West Michigan. This is exactly the porch look I want instead of wood rotting out later on.

First, I would be reluctant to accept the job. If the customer seams reasonable, I would charge more and I only guarantee my choice of material. I'll use the mortar if they insist, but I won't guarantee it. All that said, I would provide the customer the same top quality service as I would any customer, as you did. Nice job! ⚒👍

In Colorado, with freeze/ thaw. I’d waterproof the slab with a liquid like Laticrete Hydroban, then use Megalite medium net mortar or even use Ditra on the slab. I’m sure your method is fine as well!

That was an awsome job, great work. A lot of detail work and good craftsmanship. Hope you guys get paid good. Thanks for sharing. How long did you keep the wood under the facial to keep the stone up? Again, great job, it looks beautiful.

Definitely try to use the water when cutting the stone....so not to dust the whole house out.

Should have replaced column! It's rotting anyway. Gonna be worse now that stone is elevated. Please come back after bad winter and show how bad it is. Thumbs down!

This isn't Mike Holmes if the homeowner doesn't want to pay for it. It stays.
