Hewitt patented the mercury vapor lamp which is considered the first prototype for today's modern fluorescent lights.. He was also not around when Thomas Edison developed the fluorescent lamp.

I was still in elementary, I think that was in 1962, when I went with my father to FEATI University where he was teaching electrical engineering & electronics engineering, for the Foundation Week celebration. That is where I saw the first video call. One end of the video call (traditional telephone set and probably 14" black and white television) was on the 4th floor, and the other end was in the electronics engineering laboratory on the ground floor. Also in the lab was a mini telephone central office; there, I saw the phone call connections being made by, I think five (5) Strowger switches, which moved up and around depending on the numbers dialed. I saw the images on the black and white television set next to the traditional phone set on the ground floor. That was supposedly the first video call. When I was in high school in 1965, I got a ride on a prototype hovercraft that was on a 5-ft diameter circular wooden body, with the noisy engine at the center. The hovercraft went up about 1 foot high and moved with not much control to the sides. Both were Dr. Zara's inventions.

If Filipinos are given the opportunity to shine, they seize the moment. Case in point are our Filipino nurses working all over the world because they meet the qualifications set by foreign standards. Give them lemons and they will not settle making just lemonades but also lemon jams and wines.

That's why our country is overpopulated because of our hospitality. We don't know the word stereotypes, discrimination, and racism. We Filipinos are genuinely happy friendly people by nature inspite of the hardship we have gone thru in history and being always tagged as 3rd World country. That's how we survive being always positive, happy, smiles, and faith in God. If we have one thing that we could thank the Spanish colonization inspite of hardship under them for hundred of years, it's bringing Christianity to our country. Our strong Faith in God really made us Filipinos endure everything in life. God bless you, your family, and more blessings to your channel.🇵🇭💖

That's what Filipinos are they are so very helpful caring, loving and very kind. As most of all we take care our kids even they have their own family they stay with their mom and dad the same house because they cannot afford to rent house so their parents has to help them, as what we say Filipinos family is family blood is thicker than water.

That is true, most of the times Filipinos are underrated being in a third world country, but they are mostly educated and have manners in dealing to all races and challenges. They always have a solution for everything. But of course, due to their accents and race, mostly some Americans or Europeans who looked up themselves as superior, always bully the asians and seldom they get a higher position in jobs in US. That’s what sucks in terms of equality.

I am a filipino and i watch plenty of videos from expats and visited the Philippines. Most if not all find Philippines quite chaotic in many ways like the traffic, services like internet, utilities, and stuff like that. Or in most ways, they find some items from the grocery store "out of stock". It's a little inconvenient at first but it did give them a valuable lesson that most Filipinos have learned or embedded in our traits - patience and contentment.
As you can see, many Filipinos are not rich, but are happy and contented.

Dra Fe Del Mundo was my physician and also my dad, uncles, and auntie's physician. She was a good friend and colleague of my grandma. Whenever we would get sick my grandma would call her on the phone to ask for advice. She's buried in the Filipino equivalent of the Arlington Memorial Cemetery because of her contributions to child healthcare in the country.
