Upon the death of her 2 timing husband, Queen Catherine kicked his mistress to the curb😂 Diane dePoitiers was given Chateau de Chenonceau (Loire Valley)by her boyfriend King Henri and did she love that castle, even building a beautiful bridge going to the castle. After getting back the castle, the Queen Bee, turned that bridge into what is now known as the Grand Gallery and turned that castle into a party house even holding the first ever firework display to honor her son, the King.
I think Catherine after 10 kids, had enough and took what was owed her.
Thank you for all your great videos 👍

I do believe that the "Buckingham Palace," should be turned into a museum. No self respecting * cough true cough* royal would live there. Give it to the people!
      I don't want it!

Catherine de Medici, like any strong woman of the day, got a raw deal. I think Henri IV de Bourbon respected Catherine more than her husband and three sons who followed him, combined.

Hi there. Catherine "was mother in law, to Mary Queen of Scots." Through Mary's first marriage = its a fascinating point in history ✌️

Interesting. Certainly not like the depictions in "Reign", but then TV shows play games with the truth.

I’ve watched Reign like 5 times. I love it. But obviously they make them more attractive & added characters to make it more viewable. Same with The Tudors. We all know Henry the 8th was not that good looking 😜
      Still good viewing though

Strong women in history are frequently given horrible nicknames like "The Serpent Queen" when if a man has been ruling in their place and carried out the same actions it would have just been normal. Just shows the rampant sexism of the age, however, there is still a double standard in today's society.

Catherine compared to Elizabeth I of England is interesting. Both were strong minded like men in those days. But the fact that Catherine was a mother of many children is kind of a mystery.
