- This video describes how to determine how many solutions or roots there are in a quadratic function. The formula used to make this determination is called the discriminant.
I know this video was posted 4 years ago but i wanted to say thank you for helping me so much, i was very confused before this.
Glad it helped 🙂
Im so happy i found this video😭😭😭i learnt more in 4 mins than in 2hrs. Thank you so much i love your teaching
Glad it was helpful!
you're very welcome
Hey man, just wanted to say thanks I had a test the next day and this video helped me get a 95% thank you so much for the help. 🎉🎉
That's great 👍 glad it helped you out
Thank you!! I was really confused in discriminant thing and you cleared my doubt 😃😃
Most welcome 😊
Great. Straight to the point. Thank you @FerranteMath
Excellent! You're very welcome.
Hi, thank you!! This is really helpful for me. I like your teaching.
thank you!
your handwriting is so neat!
Thank you. I have to write neatly or I can't read my own writing :)
@@FerranteMath 😂That happens to me as well and it results in taking imaginary one😅..So i make sure it's neat and clear.
The first equation is not gonna have any real root while the second one has a single real root, i hope i am right btw nice explanation ❤
Thank you!! This was really helpful!!
you're very welcome!
I wish you were my math teacher
Thanks Jimmy!
Thank you so much. If the discriminant is less than zero no real roots and it's negative so why is the U shape at the top towards the positive y and not down towards the negative y? Is it because it's an imaginary number? I have seen some other videos make the U shape down when the discriminant is less than zero but they didn't explain why? Can you please explain if it's possible? Many thanks
you seem like a great teacher
Hey Dev, I really appreciate that! I do really like teaching 🙏
Thank you so much!!
you're welcome!
great video omg
Glad you liked it!
Thanks helpful
You're welcome Yousaf.
i like your writing
Thank you 😊
Should I draw this on normal page or graph paper???
But i wanna use graph paper!
use graph paper
What is the role of discriminant in equation and why we using discriminat as (b^2-4ac)
Good question. The discriminant indicates the type of, and how many solutions there are for the equation.
@@FerranteMath why does the discriminant affect the types of roots for a quadratic equation
SAT looking good
Good luck!
Hey, can you link the answer sheet
Sure Praharshitha. Here you go ...

Thank you
What is your country name?..hii i am indian i like it
hello Gopal. I'm from the United States. California.
if b^(2) - 4ac < 0, there's no real solution
That is correct. No real number solutions, only imaginary numbers
Super.but l can not speak english.l am from Azerbaijan.
Thank you for watching my videos. I think you can turn on the translator? I've never used it but heard it works.
