  • @shayna554
    @shayna554 Год назад +5

most of what he’s saying is correct however within the last few years the 360 smart beds have been updated . You can’t hear the pump so if you are a person who tosses and turns leave that responsive air setting ON!! It has saved my hips and shoulders! Also, the iLE is a great mattress but the sister bed to this would be the i8 which most people will Choose that bed over the iLE because it’s softer.
This is nothing like an air mattress. Yes, they work with air. But the baffles themselves have 4 inch chambers inside. So the air chamber plus the responsive air is what keeps you aligned throughout the night constantly relieving pressure points. I got my bed just last January and it’s awesome. Definitely worth every penny.

Well done review thank you. We are 72 Y.O. and back pain is our issue. We have tried for years to get a good bed but we failed everytime. Too Firm is always the problem. Last time about a year i was determined to get a soft mattress. It was 17 inches thick and Ultra Plush. It was not soft, just Mountain of a mattress. My wife short and struggles just to get in the dang thing. in 2007 I bought a Sleep Number pillow and it finally died on me. We were the mall nearby and i was able to order a pillow. They were shocked I was still on their records and still had the same pillow. They had a new design and suggested i try in on a bed. While there I asked them to make the bed as soft as possible. They stopped at 35 and I could feel my back relaxing. That bed at 35 and this contour pillow were very nice. I suggested my wife try it. She found it better at 45 but still most comfortable, then the sales lady lifted her feet and head just a bit and she was shocked how much better that was on het legs, hip and breathing. Then she did the numbers and the bed as you mentioned was on a sale of $700 off list price. by the time we were done it was over $6,000. That took outr breath away and we took the quote with us but i knew my wife was not enthused. Then today i woke up in such pain i had to roll onto the floor to get my pants on then hobbled around for several hours before my back would let me walk normally. So i began to search reviews and saw yours. You like all the same stuff we saw, but the notion of deep discounts during holidays could be my saviour. I will be watching them closely Late May and early July to see if anything moves as you have explained. Thanks, Dennis

Dennis, what did you end up doing. I bought one in my 40's. I am now 65. One of the cells has gone. What I found annoying was the fact that the foam deteriorates, and it needs replacement parts. On the other hand, I never slept so well. I was concerned about taking the plunge to get an updated bed and having to screw around with it at 85. what did you do?

    Great review.
My Wife and I just got our 2nd SNB, our 1st one 11 years ago and was a C3 with Remote, hut the pump was failing.
So we decided to upgrade our Queen C3.
But when they came with our bed they could get it up to our BEDROOM, the Flex fit base wouldn't fit around the corner at the top of our UPstairs because it's a one piece solid base, so we upgraded to a Split Top king with the Flex 2 base.
So for the inconvenience they gave us a set of sheets for our bed.
But the differance is the King base is 2 seperate pieces and they were able to stand the base up and walk it around the corner, go figure.
They called to say they couldn't deliver the bed because it hadn't arrived at the loading dock, so we had to wait a month to get it, so for that the person on the phone gave us another set of sheets for the inconvenience, so now we have 2 sets of sheets for the bed for free retail is $200.
We also bought a set of split top King Sheets from Amazon for $39.99 and they fit great and they do have the straps to hold it on.
So we're very happy with the new Bed.
I have Anklosing Spondylitis and my Wife has Ms, so we deal with alot of pain and the new Bed has made a huge differance, we're both sleeping much better, not sure how accurate the sleep tracking is either but I like looking at them though.
Here are the sheets we bought.

We have had our Select Comfort (Sleep Number's name previously) for 23 years and not had any issues with it. Ours doesn't have all the tech the new one has but it still has the pump and comfort layers of foam. We have decided to get a new bed and are going with the ILE with an adjustable base and are going to move our old bed into our camper because it is still a great bed. Our pump is extremely quiet, I almost can't hear it run so I am concerned that the new one is loud but perhaps it won't be an issue for us. I can't speak to their warranty because we didn't have to use it but I can say we couldn't be happier with our first purchase after many restful nights and expect this new one will be just as good.

I’ve sold Sleep Number beds for over 16 years. But I’m not representing the company, here, just giving my two cents.
It’s a publicly traded company, no franchises, all stores are corporately owned. Pricing is the same everywhere.
This review is more accurate than most, at this time- but things change quickly. Functions in the SleepIQ app are constantly improving.
My tip to the reviewer is to take the slick pillow protector off your pillow so your case will stay on. We sell woven cotton protectors that would work better for you.
2nd tip, those elastic anchor bands on your fitted sheet are designed to go just under the mattress, not the FlexFit adjustable base. They’ll last longer and you’ll be able to tuck in your top sheet.

The Perfect Comfort youTube video did a comparison of the Sleep Number bed and the Perfect Comfort. One of the interesting differences was how the mattress stays on the frame: SN has super-strong magnets (at least in this video) which the video points out could cause damage to electronics, pace-makers...basically anything that is affected by strong magnets. The PC mattress has a metal bar that is inserted at the base of the mattress. I'm new to these high-tech mattresses...am trying to learn the pros and cons so I can make a smart decision. Your video has been very helpful. If we do purchase SN, we'll definitely wait until a holiday! Thanks.

Amazing comfort, no sunken feeling no bed anomalies, and still adjustable. Bought my son same combo everywhere he goes he tells people about his bed. Mattress only $1167.56 (with FORCED shipping/setup and taxes). Mattress Topper $297.00. Basically, turned a $1000 bed into a $3500.00 bed. Note: I reused my box springs and frame. We bought our 2nd SNB in 2021 from the Tucson store, but waited until we made a move to Las Cruces, NM, before we had it delivered. It is a 360 bed, both sides of the bed adjust separately so we have two separate twin-size mattresses and the base is separate so I can raise mine at a different level than my husband. The only regret I have is that we should have bought the California King that is 4" longer & 4" shorter in width. I have learned that I don't like to raise up the foot of the bed, but he does, since we bought the regular King size, the top sheet won't stay tucked in at the bottom, & if we have the head of the bed on each side raised, then our feet stick out the bottom of the bed. Neither one of us are tall, but when you raise the head of the bed it pushes you closer to the bottom, if we had that extra 4" in the length, we wouldn't have that problem. Being 4" closer to each other as far as width isn't a problem, but I really wish we had bought the California King that is 72" x 84". Keep in mind that you would also have to buy sheets that are for a California King & in our case, our bottom sheets are twin size, completely separate, with one top sheet over both of us.

Originally I bought a select comfort king size bed in the late 1990s. I purchased the bed and frame and, reluctantly (only option) had it shipped to me and installed it myself. My wife and I loved it. She got it in the divorce:( It made little difference since I was a truck driver and basically lived in my truck 24/7.
Fast forward to my retirement. 5 years ago, I purchased a twin size Sleep number mattress. Again shipped to me and I self installed.
Now 5 years later I am having issues with my air chamber losing air. I contact support and find my bed came with a 25 year limited warranty. After going over the bed I decided that I needed a new air chamber, hose(starting to crack) and foam(losing shape). Those three items, after only 5 years of a 25 year warranty, will cost me another $300.00. The whole bed only cost me $700.00.
So, I decided to upgrade to a Twin XL since my adjustable frame was designed for an XL. I inquired about an upgrade. Basically I can get a C2 Smart bed Twin XL for $799.00. Not that different from what I paid for my current bed, considering inflation. Only this one just has a 15 year warranty. Hmmmm
I wonder why they shortened the warranty?
Next the give me a quote. $799 for the bed(not bad), $159.80 sale discount(good deal), $249 delivery and premium setup fee(WHAT??????) $86.60 tax for a total of $974.80.(well, it's under a grand)
I asked about waiving the Delivery and Premium Setup fee since I had never had them setup my bed before. After all it is not rocket science. I'm 73 and have been moving beds all my life. 50 years ago I sold and installed water beds. I know how to set up a bed. I even explained to them that I let NO ONE into my house, especially not the bedroom for safety and security reasons. Well forget that. The fee is mandatory.
My decision was that Select Comfort/Sleep Number just lost a long time customer. The MOST I will do now is fix my current bed under warranty. After all, at 73 how much longer will I need it?
Plain and Simple fact, I do not trust these companies to come in and "case" my home.

After suffering for over 27 years with sciatica pain from degenerative disc disease, a gift from being hard on my body (being a moron, sports, motocross /hare scrambles) after a bad get off on my dirt bike, I finally got my L5/S1 fused. I was 45 at the time and it's been 10 years pain free since. I wish I had done it sooner, pain can color your life. But, I had heard so many stories of bad surgical outcomes, that I kept putting it off. My brother has had much worse back problems than me (part of why I waited). He started using the Sleep number beds in the 80's and swears by them. I'm finally shopping for one myself, thanks for the tips. I'll give you a tip, find a good neurosurgeon for your back, not an orthopedic.

That is a nice couple of weeks trying to get that sucker back in and being in constant pain. Doesn't take much either. Just twisting the wrong way will do it. There seems to be no rhyme or reason behind what causes them to push out.

I’m hoping you read my comments and take them seriously. 1- I can’t do foam tops. Here’s why and I’m serious; during certain sex positions I/we sink and lose our “rhythm”, especially doggy. 2- I’ve got all degenerative L disks with serious sciatica pain and the same leg pains you described. Also serious, my chiropractor recommended an inversion table. Maybe 3 times a week and ZERO pain. 4 minutes per session. It cost me $120, and my mattress sucks. So in the end I’m thinking, SORRY, WASTE OF MONEY. Remember, most people hate to admit they wasted $$$$. But great video.

I have back problems too. I have had my basic Sleep Number bed for 15 years. I did have to replace the pump a couple of years ago, but this bed has made a huge difference to the sleep I get over a traditional mattress. I would love the base and all the other bells and whistle the newer beds like the one reviewed here, but it will have to wait until I can afford it. Thanks for your review. I had one of the first SNB before they had the adjustment base to them. The pump was so noisy it was unreal. The whole thing was given to me because the person was upgrading. I too have a bad back with 4 surgeries and leg surgeries too. I had to get rid of it after 20 years of use. I really cried when they tore it down. My husband bought me a different kind of bed. Not happy. I haven't had a good night's sleep in 15 years after four different beds. There is nothing better than these beds. I wish I could afford a new one. I'm planning on moving into a different house. That will be the first thing I buy. Keep telling people about them. They will always be the best.

We bought the I8 split top king and a set of sheets almost 4 yrs ago for $9600. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so we were hoping this would help with my back and hip pain. My sleep # verys from 35 to 25. Almost 2 yrs after purchase my side would not hold air. Called customer service and they mailed a new bladder and told us since it was still under warranty they had to send out their Techs to install the new bladder but it would cost $100. 00 for travel charges and I had to wait 2 weeks before they showed up. Fast forward 2 yrs and again my side will not hold air. Called customer service and they want me to pay $240. for a new bladder. This replacement bladder has not even lasted 2 yrs. I fo admit when I finally get to sleep, most of the time I sleep without pain. But honestly I will never buy another sleep # bed. I mean we spent 9,600.00 it ought to have a life time warranty!!!

It’s Memorial Day weekend and I just purchased a SNB, awaiting delivery now. I was afraid you had a different tip on saving money but I did good with 50% off on the mattress. It’s a Q size iLE 360 with the FlexFit 3 smart base, which has a foot warmer. I opted for a single chamber since I sleep in the middle of the bed. The salesman said 95% of people buy the dual chamber and was pushing me in that direction but I couldn’t see how that would benefit me having to adjust the bed on two sides all the time. I bought one 20 years ago. It was a full size, which was fine. The problem was it maintaining air pressure, with constant need to adjust. The bed lasted a good 18 years, but that I needed to replace a cell. I also have lower back problems and hit. This bed was great for me. The concern I hae is this. I am now 65. I don't know that I want to be struggling with customer service and replacement parts at 80 or 85. The comfort was great, but the foam cover deteriorated over time., The phone inserts between cells deteriorated. Right now, I am somewhere else on a horrible matteress that needs to be replaced. I am unsure if I should try to go with the air again or go with a Saatva. I ahve the same concerns about the foam and pillow top. I got so used to adjusting for my pain, that the idea of being locked in to a nonadjustable matteress is a concern for me. You are younger than I am. If you were. 65 and due for a new cell or a new bed. Would you do this again?

Awesome review! Fifteen years ago, we spent $6000 for our adjustable split king bed! Plus we’ve replaced a few motors for the Leggitt and Platt adjustable base and also a couple of pumps, not to mention a few lost remotes! Sleep Number knows how to make money! But, the air mattresses have never leaked and while it IS a glorified air mattress and some foam inside a zippered case, it does all the things Rob said and it’s great for aches and pains and helps breathing, when the head is elevated a bit. Great tip on when to buy! The only thing I saw on the ILE bed was that it wasn’t split, so each person can elevate their side of the bed independently. But, it’s an individual choice. If you get a split bed, order sheets with two separate twin or extra long twin fitted sheets and then buy the top sheet separately to cover whatever size bed you have. Otherwise, you have a split top sheet, which you may not like. Not a huge deal, but something to consider.

Appreciated this candid review. My husband bought a sleep number bed easily 25 years ago, still have it. Pillow top with what was available at that time. I am having trouble now with it holding air...could be a simple fix. However, after all these years I am considering a new mattress. I would never go back to a traditional spring coil OR thermarest mattress. When traveling, I find I miss my SC bed. I have a size that is between a queen and a king which I really like. Do they still make this size?? Only downside is you have to purchase special sized sheets through SC in order to fit. HOWEVER, these sheets are awesome and extremely durable. And YES to the elastic straps for bottom fitted sheet!! I am wondering, since I am used to a 'low tech" version, if it is worth it to invest in the technology??

    • @robb.sutton
      @robb.sutton 4 года назад

I didn't see a size in between. I think they are just the standard sizes now. We really invested in the thicker top which just happened to come with the tech. Go try them out and see. It's easy to compare them side by side.

My husband and I have been very satisfied for past 14 years on our tempurpedic.... but we are due for new bed and I traveled with my job more in past and happened upon a sleep number bed in a Luxor’s resort and have been ‘chasing’ that ABSOLUTELY HEAVENLY sleep ever since...
To put it in prospective-- I only got 4 hours of sleep and when I woke , I was the most rested I can ever ever remember being my entire life... my concern is being able to ‘find’ or ‘recreate’ my sleep number to match that nights

I can't speak on the sheets because I have never used the Boll and Branch ones. You can feel the Sleep Number sheets in the store to see if they compare. We were on a memory foam mattress before this and the sleep number has been much better. People say you don't get pressure points with memory foam but I found that not to be true in my case. I did especially in areas where I was getting pain at the time. It really doesn't take long to find your ideal settings. I think both my wife and I were set within a night or two. They kind of help you out at the store with that as well with the software they have there so you get a good starting point.

May 2021 - visited a Sleep Number store again. Mentioned seeing Sleep Number beds that were discounted 50%. The sales person said the 50% discount only applies to the iLE (similar to the i8) mattress and maybe not King split. The sales person said he had heard that it would probably not be on sale for 50% off during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. The sales person said people are already coming in to buy and they probably didn't need a sale then. The sales person said that the 50% off typically only happens 1-2 times a year and guessed the next one might be in July. Hopefully the FlexFit base will be on sale at the same time.
