If i remember correctly Jeonghan was actually praised a lot for his long hair and fawned over by many korean fans. He said he cut it because his dead ends were too much and short hair was just much easier to handle and maintain. I would rather believe what he directly said than the negative things that haven't been confirmed to be true. Loved the reaction by the way. I keep missing your livestreams because of the timezones :(

Oh, since you asked a few times about the fanchants it's a good time to add some extra information, so you wouldn't be confused later.
In the fanchants the fans are using their Korean names, even for Chinese members. The members also sometimes refer to the Chinese members by their Korean names as well.
Wen Junhui is sometimes Moon Junhui, and Xu Minghao changes into Seo Myungho.
So in the fanchants with only names it will be Junhui and Myungho, and with the full names Moon Junhui and Seo Myungho.
Members use those two variants of their names alternately, while talking to them or about them, so just don't be confused 😊 Personally, I only use their Chinese names.
Also fun fact: the normal fanchants should start from the leader and then go in the age order from the oldest to the youngest - but not in Seventeen 😂
The8 wanted to be the 8th member in the fanchant, but if it goes by the age he would be 10th. So they switch it up..
The 97 liners in Seventeen technically should go in the fanchants in this order: Seokmin (born in February), Mingyu (born in April) , Myungho/Minghao (born in November).
But they reversed that, so Minghao can be 8th in the fanchants, and it goes like this: Myungho -> Mingyu -> Seokmin. It goes backwards only for the 97 line.
So on top of having 13 names to remember, and two of them being made up (for the Chinese members), you also have to remember it like this: leader and the oldest first -> then normally by their age -> then the 97 line from youngest to oldest -> and back to the right order 😂

Oh, and in some fanchants the Carats have to sing (although it's closer to rap) their full names from S.Coups to Dino AND THEN GO BACKWARDS from Dino to S.Coups. To be honest I still didn't master the backwards order haha

I just have to get something off my chest to my fellow carats. Thankfully I have not seen a ton of comments complaining about this, but there were a few, and a few is enough.... I just really wish that all of us could relax about needing Anitra to react to the movie guide.
You guys are forgetting that this is Anitra’s own journey to getting to know SVT, we may all have guide or content preferences but we should not be pushing what she should react to, especially if she already explained why she is watching something or not.
Anitra can get to know SVT without watching the movie guide right this moment (or ever). It is not necessary to learn as much as possible about SVT in just one go. Let’s just watch along as she enjoys what she wants to watch! (Don’t take this as me saying we shouldn’t suggest things, but if she already explained she is not watching something right now, let’s not be pushy).

Vocal Unit's hug, don't listen in secret, habit, pinwheel, second life are heartbreaking.
And Smile Flower by entire seventeen is so good too. If you like vocal wonwoo, this delivers.
Fun fact about Jun. He is literally the weirdest member of Seventeen and he is really funny. He is just quiet about it so a lot of times if you aren't paying attention to him, you miss it.
Unfortunately Vernon was bullied when he was younger because of his appearance to the point he dropped out of school and was educated at home. His sense of identity is a problem for him because wherever he goes he is treated like a foreigner like he don't belong to any place.
You can see a bit of that in the lyrics of "Trauma" and there is also a mixtape called "Lizzie Velasquez" where he expresses that more deply.
there a lot of carat fandom myths... jeonghan cut his hair because it was hard to manage and his dad didnt like it. vernon also never explicitly said he disliked the dicaprio comparison, the fandom just assumes it for him because he's shy about it
Omg I can't believe I missed the livestream again! This was such a nice and unexpected surprise. I could seriously watch you react to them for hours and never get bored. You're so funny and relatable. I also don't really care how outdated this guide is. It's still fun to watch and like you said, a lot of it is still new information to recent fans.

Instead of me cluttering you with recommendations (Im sure you have a list) I’m just going to say thank you for any reaction to SVT. 🙏💜 Reactors get intimidated by them having 13 members and don’t want to invest the time to learn.
Also (and Carats hate the comparison but imma do it anyways) SVT has the same genuine, passionate vibe that I correlate with BTS. I don’t get attached to groups (I’m a casual listener to all and genuinely just love kpop) but BTS and SVT made me appreciate music by sharing their love for creation, performance, their fans, each other and music overall. They are my ult. groups (yes both of them lol).
They are different groups, different vibes (completely different) BUT the genuine passion and love is the same. I believe thats what really makes a group.
I’m just saying that I truly believe anyone that is a diehard ARMY can easily get behind SVT (if they’d open themselves up to it). Hate the dumb fan wars tbh.
If I can add something to the comments: if you will react to BooSeokSoon's (the gag trio) song "Just Do It" (which I recommend, because it's so much fun, especially the choreo 😂), there is also the 13 members version that they performed at their concerts all together!
The live performance is great, all of them had so much fun, and it's also funny how some of the members are laughing while dancing, because they are too shy or embarrassed to go full out on the choreography sometimes (the dance in some parts is quite weird, but so much fun haha). I love it, I watch that easily 4-5 times a week to boost my mood 😂

Anitra! I don't know if someone told you but the part in S. Coups guide where he was throwing someone and you were like yeah get him, the guy he was throwing was Jungkook! lol I just had to point that out :D so glad you are finally getting to know the boys! Also Joshua shares the same birthday as Taehyung!
I'm very picky when it comes to choosing my favorite vocalists in kpop. Not everyone will blow me away and make me feel emotional but I have to say that I think DK and Seungkwan, especially DK, are definitely up there as one of the best vocalists in the kpop industry. They’re one of the few (along with EXO's Chen and Baekhyun and SHINee's Jonghyun) who make me emotional because of their singing. Even Chen himself mentioned Seungkwan and how impressed he was by his singing during a radio star interview in 2019
And please please please react to whatever YOU want and what makes YOUR seventeen journey more enjoyable and don't ever let anyone make you feel pressured to react to what they want. If you eventually get to the movie guide, then great and if you decide to never do it, that's fine too. I will enjoy whatever seventeen content you give me anyway. I just want you to be comfortable, period!
I never follow a group from debut only because I want to see how their sound builds (and I don’t want to get too attached quickly with how fast some groups die out), but that’s what ended up happening with seventeen. I was quite an obsessed ARMY (still am lol) starting in 2015 and RM did this variety/interview (I can’t remember the name of it) that Seungkwan was participating in and I will never forget how he commanded that show. I went there for RM and got sucked in to this amazing character (hell RM also got sucked in haha).
SVT debuted in 2015 and that interview was in 2015. I legit fell in love with this bold, confident, sassy (I could go on) personality of Seungkwan. From there, I looked him up and fell down a rabbit hole of this amazing and talented (self produced) group that I shockingly decided to follow even though they just came into existence. His performance and voice is spectacular and his variety is out of this world. I’ve watched EVERY variety show he is in and am always disappointed when it ends. Unexpected Q was probably my favorite (you should check it out)
He’s been my bias ever since. To be honest, I am always flabbergasted when people overlook him at their first impression because most bias’ are based on visuals instead of the personality (which I also don’t get why ppl critique his visual because he’s hella thicc (not fat ppl 🙄) and has cheekbones for day-his visual is unique I love it).
From there it’s a struggle for wrecker because it constantly changes with this group 😂. Woozi/Mingyu/Dino/Hoshi/DK/The8 are the top contenders (I literally almost started listing them all hahaha). They’ve all been in the wrecker position at one point or another. So, that whole spew was me basically saying good luck on the identification of your bias and wrecker 😂😅
Also, random but I’d totally watch your reaction to the SVT movie. It’s long af but a goldmine of information.

Seungkwan's personality is the main reason he's my bias. (Of course there are other reasons)
You should react ' light a flame ' especially dance choreo. I bet you gonna love and enjoy wonwoo's singing and jun's dancing.
The reason they get wet is because they had a concert outdoors in Korea and they were all wet and excited because it rained. Fans say it was fun to shoot water guns while getting wet, but since then, they haven't held concerts outdoors. I want to play at the concert like that.
I'm not sure if anyone else said this already in the chat or comments but Seventeen being a self produced group at first was not really their choice, Pledis was pretty poor at the time so Seventeen could not even afford toothpaste. But they ended up getting little to no help from Pledis and did everything themselves which I find similar to SKZ now that I think about it. Also yeah being mixed in Korea seems to be a problem which sucks, Somi is also half Korean and half white so she used to get bullied in school. Also Seventeen seems to make jokes reality, like Boosookseon as you know but also Hoshi once made a song on the spot called "Bureora Hurricane" and then they made an actual song that he performed at concerts. Minghao grew alot shown in his face, in the beginning he had a more baby face and had a cuter look but now he found his style, but also the Mingyu moment where he said he as still handsome despite his dark skin. Mingyu used to be very insecure about his tan skin but now he embraces it. There is a common joke among Seventeen that they call Dino the "future of kpop" and Carats ofc use it as well. Also check out his live stage for Zero one day, on the channel or by yourself. It is about him growing up and leaving high school. Just a few things I wanted to say :)
Yeah Seventeen def had little choice in the matter and were kinda forced to become self producing. Not that they don't love being self producing but I do remember seeing their early struggles and how it sometimes became too much for Woozi and that he just broke down crying due to all the stress. I love Stray Kids and I'm not downplaying their struggles because they def had to work hard as well, but I also think them being from one of the big 3 companies is a leg up compared to Seventeen being from a much smaller and poor company. I think BTS' and Seventeen's hardships and struggles are very similar in the sense that both groups came from small and poor companies and were solely responsible for bringing in the most profit. They literally started at the bottom and I think that's why they're my 2 ult groups. I'm a big sucker for rags to riches stories

And I meant that Stray Kids were similar in a way bc Stray Kids created themselves kinda because Chan was tired of seeing everyone debut except for him. I was just putting together that they both did everything for themselves at first. But yeah we love the self producing title but we cannot forget that at first it wasn't really a option.
I think it is amazing to have different cultures and his dad is American and his mom is Korean so he can learn both cultures it is horrible that people had to bully him bc he looks different but I think he is beautiful and should be proud and strong to show off his American roots and Korean roots and now that he is famous I bet those kids who bullied him are feeling stupid now.

if you think the fanchant at the beginning was brutal, check out the ones for getting closer and hit. the boys like to keep us on our toes. for home they make us sing wonwoo's part that you like so much in a deep voice to match his, in fallin' flower they make us sing falsetto. carats keep joking that they'll make us dance one of these days and then we're ready for debut.
while the plan was to debut with 17 members, pledis never actually managed to have 17 trainees at once. the most they had at any one time was 16.
wonwoo has hand tremors and has said that he's the kind of person who gets cold feet and hands very quickly (relatable af) so i think the sweater paws are mostly his own preference (again, mood. i wonder if he wears fluffy socks at home too)

the8 has gone through the biggest image change over the years i think. in the beginning they used to style him very cutely and he was portrayed as kind of innocent and clueless (partly i feel because he was still learning korean, because people are assholes), and then sometime around boom boom he got rid of that and revealed the wise beyond his years, no bullshit, artistic fashion icon truth of himself to the world
updates to help the 2 year info gap: dk starred in a musical called xcalibur (composed by wildhorn) in 2019 where he played king arthur. you'll see them reference that a lot if you get into their variety stuff. seungkwan was the second member next to hoshi to be on masked singer. the group was on knowing bros in 2019, check at like17subs

About Vernon, I think what she meant by "respect that" is the fact that people constantly point out or assume Vernon is American or foregin because of his appearance but in reality, while he was born in the US, he's lived in Korea most of his life so he's more connected to his Korean side. That doesn't mean he's pushing away his American side or not acknowledging it because he does, but being foregin shouldn't be his only defining characteristic because there's way more to Vernon than that.

I finally know who are my biases.😂 It took me so long to know their names: Minghyu, Vernon, Joshua and Minghao. These 4 I realized are my biases in Hit. I always liked Minghyu and Vernon, but Joshua and Minghao came for me in Hit. They're very talented and the choreography is so awesome. Seventeen is really interesting group.
I’ve only found out about seventeen for like 3 months but I don’t really keep up with other groups as much but I still can’t choose a bias 😂😂
A good laugh is EVERYTHING indeed! Also, check our their own show called Going Seventeen, they have different concepts for different episodes, it's hilarious and you'll see so much more of their different sides!

I think you should really watch Hit the road. It's their docu series of their 2019-2020 world tour. I think it's a really good way to get to know the members and it's on their youtube channel for free! :)

I'm so glad you think Jun might be your bias. He's my bias too and became my bias the same way. Walked right up to the camera in clap and right into my Ult bias list🤣
But if you want to see a video I recommend MY Ear Candy with Baek Jiyoung ft. Jun and Mingyu . It's a live stage performance. You can also watch it on your own time too cause idk if it's reactable or not. This was a also a reason jun became my favorite when it comes to stage presence.

Any time a group is preforming at music shows, the fans say their real names. For their fandom, Carats are known as "rappers" because they say their names really fast because of there being so many of them. This is another group I've been following since they debuted. I personally have 3 biases in this group from each unit. They are listed below:
Hip-hop : S.Coups
Vocal : Woozi
Performance : Hoshi
If you notice, these men all are the leaders of their respective units.
Mixed people in the kpop industry get a lot of hate and often get called a half breed and it is really sad. Huening Kai, Vernon, Somi, and others often get hate and it makes me so mad.
Mingyu's hair @ 50:56 is from around the time they did the Mansae M/V and if I'm not mistaken that should be the next M/V on your list if you plan on doing it chronologically-ish

I have so many bias's and bias wreckers in Seventeen they are amazing boys and its hard to choose out of them. I went from Woozy, Vernon, Joshua, Seungkwan and DK is becoming a problem and its hard to like a member more then another in this group :)

I don’t think the jokes are disrespectful (the members made them themselves and continued them for a long time tbh) but I agree on the movie guide. It’s a well of information.

I just figured that was such a big part of them playing up the aegyo in the beginning like all young groups do and never thought it stopped because of something negative just more because they naturally grew out of such kinds of aegyo. 🤔
