Network Rail have released shocking footage to remind people of the dangers of misusing level crossings. There were 466 incidents of level crossing misuse and 28 near misses across Network Rail’s Wessex route last year.
My dads a train driver in the south of England and when he had a very near miss at a level crossing he couldn't sleep for weeks and woke up Screaming for Weeks please don't take risks, you have no idea the affects on the train drivers
He probably had nightmares or night terrors relating to that incident where silly people are dumb and take stupid risks.
Your dad shouldn't be driving trains with his mental health problems.
Depending on the trains speed, it can take time to stop the train. It doesn't help that people cross them when activated and some car drivers smash through the barriers on level crossings
Your dad's a good man. Tell him we love him very much 🙂
your father is a legend but some train drivers dont care either, your dad seems to care about the people around him though 😀
0:13 That dog should be walking the man instead
DONT BELIEVE THE LIBERALE MEDIA
What is wrong with people for ffs
Stupidity
It is the "I am never at fault" mentality...Never been told NO! by mummy and daddy.
I don’t know. You’d think it would be common sense not to walk on the tracks when a train’s coming, but some people are so impatient and can’t wait a couple of minutes so they decide risking their life is better.
@@joshslater2426 Two minutes late in this world is better than fifty Years to early in the next
Morons the best way to explain it
What people do not realise is they may get across in the nick of time but the driver doesn't get over almost killing you. Stop being disrespectful sociopaths
Well done Bob
The dog literally didn’t want to go on the tracks, he could tell the train was coming and was dragged onto the tracks by the dumb owner
Maybe the dog should be walking the man instead
the man should just pick up the dog ffs aswell if hes so desperate to cross
The dog’s intuition was better than his. The first thing I thought when I saw that clip was,the dog is more intelligent than the human trying to yank him across the tracks.
@@Donice09 Maybe the dog’s hearing was better too..
That dog might have just saved that mans life when he was stopping the man
I've finally seen a clip where someone driving a vehicle trapped in a railroad crossing realizes that it's better to break through the gate than get hit by a train.
It's RAILWAY! this is a British Rail video
@@Jamesbracken-ny2sgdoes it really matter? I'm a train nerd but I don't see the need to get so worked up.
@@Jamesbracken-ny2sg🤓☝️
The people that were in that truck could've just got out of the truck and not broke the barrier and they could have climbed over it instead
They wouldn't have been hit by a train, that particular crossing requires the barriers to be lowered and then physically checked by the signaller before a train can proceed over.
0:36 bro stop looking at the train GET OUT
BRO ALMOST DIED 💀☠️💀☠️💀☠️💀☠️💀☠️💀
He wanted to prove how tough he was lol Dude, join a martial arts gym to find out how tough you're not. A reality check is in order.
@@SavingPrivateBob but he doesn’t have to stress out a train driver bro
He's clearly doing it on purpose...
Exactly. There should be AI driven trains without human drivers for these people 😅 because the human drivers get nightmares afterwards..
1:42 you forgot to cut the part where the light was actually green when they began to cross? Nothing wrong with this one. The rest though unbelievable
I saw that on this video a while ago. Think it’s a bit deceptive that, unless you’re sharp eyed it looks like the guy ignored the red light.
Yeesh, that's malpractice on the part of the rail network that it stayed green so close to the train coming. Imagine if that were a very old person crossing.
Right? Plus you can see on the timestamp the video was sped up, the train came past ~15 seconds after she would've been hit, wouldn't call that a 'near miss'
@@CarlosSamuel-ms9ee Yes thats a good point, its barely enough time
@@chatteyj Yeah and especially considering the whole video is about how many people like to take their chances, you'd think they would want to include a healthy safety margin. Although as another commenter said the video is sped up, so it's not as close as it appears.
It's just absolutely reckless and terrifying to watch how these people pose a risk to theirselves and the train driver/ passengers on-board as well as criminal damage to level crossings, tut tut. 😲😲😲😲
0:34 DUDE IS JUST LOOKING RIGHT AT IT GET THE FUCK OF THE TRACKS💀
i think hes a deer
he mustve seen headlights
to be honest, I think he was contemplating just ending it
@@simon199418tbh hes being an idiot trying to be a clever so and so - he knows the trains coming and leaves it to last second to get out of the way to show his mate who is likely recording it off screen how cool he is (not). kids do this in the dark at night with buses aswell. No thought for how it affects the driver and as they're kids when confronted "they're just having a laugh and being kids". Drives me insane.
@@grantos3000 also possible, didn't think about that.
He was trolling the approaching train.
1:09 I hope they paid a huge fine for the broken barrier. In fact, they are very expensive.
Are you autistic if your vehicle is stuck its meant to be broken
I live 5 mins walk from that train station I have no idea when did this happen
Probably not
Ya pero es más importante la vida que una barrera y además no se abrió así que la pagan ellos
No fine but no doubt their insurance would’ve been held liable for the cost of replacing the barrier.
There's a reason that the barriers exist. Why wouldn't people just wait behind it?
1:23 both on the wrong side.
1:21*
1:23 one was driving in the middle and one was going towards the left, what is going on guys
All that space and they run into eachother. Like no brains between them
Even in 2024, the stupidity of people sees no end
What do you mean, even in 2024? I feel like people are more stupid now than 20 years ago for sure.
@@fredh1720 yeah I just meant we’re devolving, not evolving
@@fredh1720you definitely see more stupid people these days which seems to coincide with an increase in people going to ‘university’
what is the problem at 1:11? the dog or the truck?
The first 2 clips are from Fishbourne train station in West Sussex btw.
0:24 and 0:41 are chichester station in west Sussex aswell btw
When the dog was on camera my heart almost stopped cuz he almost was overrun this doesnt effect the people near you but also the people watching this😭
1:40 Why not show more of what happened and when the train arrived?
Bro the kid dangling on the rail at 0:30 💀
😂
Each coach weighs approximately thirty tonnes, travelling 60mph on average. Wouldn’t want to be around to see anyone come in contact with it.
It’s not just your life your risking it can be others
Everyone underestimates the speed of the oncoming train.
It's one thing to stupidly risk your own life, but to drag an innocent dog into your suicide mission is fucking ghoulish.
Do these people get tracked down and shot
I would urge everyone to watch the short film Loco if you haven’t already seen it. As far as I’m aware, it’s available on RUclips. It portrays a devastating look into the perspectives of train drivers. Running across tracks is not worth the risk 😢
0:30 uhm, whats the near miss?
There’s a guy hanging onto the gate on the right and then he slides down it
The boys playing on the gate
Do train have safely detected braking?? Like cars
The 377 in the video definitely does not
1:44 this one wasn't a near miss because he/she was already on the crossing when the light went red
People needs to take more responsibility for themselves
I don’t get the saying near miss. It’s a near bloody HIT.
For every near miss there’s a hit
The hidden second train has been the last mistake many people have made unfortunately. As for the cyclists, I am not sure what the guy coming from the right was doing..wrong side of the road, turning in towards tracks?
I was at low moor train station near Bradford last Thursday & I saw 2 girls trespassing on the railway. Network rail staff should be in attendance at every station to prevent death & keep the community safe.
There are already security guards that are supposed to protect people in these situations. Unfortunately, they are often negligent. Public transport is an unprofitable institution, which is aimed at moving around people who can't afford a car. Government physically can't guard every inch of highly dangerous areas. That's why all safety rules and protocols are issued. If certain people can't and don't want to comply with these rules, it's their fault they lose their lives. It's harsh, but it's true. It's simple natural selection. Safety rules are taught to everybody since childhood. You don't comply - you deal with the consequences.
0:38 isn't a station and what do you do at places like Waterloo?
Or maybe people coukd use their brain.
When I was a kid I never saw train lines as being a playground!!
@@johnross2924 When you were a kid you had a playground. So many have been sold off today that kids don't have many places to go.

0:55 where is the flipping train💀
plot twist, youre the train 😮

It takes a few minutes for the train to reach the crossing, so it cant just arrive immediately unless its a footpath crossing.

SCR?
omds bro this isn't scr you clown get off the internet 💀💀
Nope, scr just rrmake that train but in roblox
Yes all scr trains exist irl
What planet are these people on.
I love how every cyclist in this comp is being The Main Character to the fullest of their abilities
This makes my blood boil
The stupidity of some people is just unreal
Thats why you dont ignore the barriers and red/yellow lights
1:42 *Why deceive?* *[o] GREEN* when pedestrian entered the crossing.
I can understanding doing this on your own but endangering your child as well is ridiculous
i can not believe the stupidity of people...!!!
I can’t believe one kid just stood there like he had a death wish

A work of art.
how can u be so clumsy to go head on to another biker when u stared right at it 💀💀

What idiots. Worse when an innocent dog dragged onto the tracks by a careless owner.
Why are these all southern
It’s a Bournemouth channel
Because these trains go here and no other
Let’s say this is a truck lane will there be cars on it? No
1:40 everyone is a moron up to this point where the only sensible person decides to check both ways before helping two morons out!! Why are people so ignorant of safety measures, those rules are there to protect you!!
The first clip was interesting because they did look but the incoming train was hidden by the train that had just passed until it was almost too late
I see this a lot on the roads with buses. People cross over straight after one has passed seemingly oblivious to the fact that vehicles could be coming the other way
Damn that's close. People do this because you have to sit / stand at crossings for half an hour before a train comes past. But of course they're too dumb to work that out
Never undermistate level
crossings
how is it just one train company
because that train commonly drives in that area 🤷♂️
Because let’s say this is a truck lane will there be cars on the truck lane? No
it used to be british rail which was every single train i think
Bicycle racing for the crossing.
I'm waiting for it.
Tension builds.
Here comes the train?
T-bones another bicycle!
No train.

«Here comes the train, dudu-dudu, here comes the train, and I say ‘It’s alright´

It had some dumb people on the crossing barier in the left corner, check again.
@@TrueMT7 I see it now, but is it such a heartstopping near miss?
@@Willzcool Not really, just
Really dumb behaviour
I think i remember i wanted to do this when i was 14 but think about it if i did this how am i gonna be success in life? And now I'm 30 i understand. So to people out there use your brain before crossing the railroad. Anything could happen anytime soon if the train services is frequent.
1:06 he had to chase his car😂
0:07 so her first instinct is to cross the tracks and not stay in the safety zone?😂
When your dog knows the train is coming and you dont you should probably stop going out alone
1:22 that is not a near miss that a collision
The number of idiots in this world is mind boggling. Hard to keep TRACK of it all. They RAILy need to be educated.
Dose no one *STOP* *LOOK* & *LISTEN*
1:22 what a pair of donuts
🤣🤣🤣
maybe they thought you have to go when the light is red 🤔
Barriers are there for a reason
you wouldnt do that to a car why do it to a train?
This may sound far fetched - there are people who think trains have a steering wheel!🙄
Better 5 minutes late than 5 decades early
Это самый проклятый железнодорожный переезд в мире
Train dodge... Dig it.. just like storming the beach at Normandy.. 🚂
377s are fast and humans are slow
All these people risked it all for getting to their destination 20 seconds faster….. idiots
1:21 the guy on the right side did it on purpose!
WHOs parents just let their kids run through the train tracks when the train just came at like idk 200mph if the kids get injured I blame it on the kids and parents not the train driver. Because it can take time to break to stand still on a train going 100mph
people may be stupid !! for one second......
Bournemouth is the south and the North knows the south is a circus show. The south sent all their homeless up North and the North has nowhere for its own left. The North has bridges over train lines as the North knew level crossings are dangerous and too risky.
People are truly dumb
People just don't think is the problem half the time and we're all guilty of it. Just yesterday at the gym I stepped off a treadmill to go put something back in my locker before I started using it and like the treadmill next to the one I was using some guy was running on it ..
Basically I could see the belt was moving and it was in use but I stepped on it anyway and went arse over tit. But same thing I had a brain fart or whatever people call it and had no one else to blame but myself.
I will say though that for the LIFE OF ME I really don't know what the bloke at 0:35 was playing at.
Class 375-377
average ride on 377
Don't fk with Southern rail
Head on bike crash.pxssed myself 😂😂😂
Some people are just stupid, born that way
What THE HELL is wrong with people? I LIVE in Estonia 🇪🇪

half of these arent near misses, they're just things that happen on a railroad btw

Perchy in white van
Robot trains and really big windscreen wipers would soon stop this stupid behaviour.
The cyclists 🤣🤣
Both cyclists must have passed flashing red lights and were in the middle of the road to dodge the barriers coming down. Would be funny if it wasn’t so seriously silly.
