So marvelous..Vic you really make it feel as though we are there with you !! Your documentaries make my day and nights...So much beauty.. thanks so much!!
Caryatids I love them and I actually made a small paper and cardboard model of the Parthenon when I was in high school in the late 1970's in Illinois, USA as part of a book report for history class. This is a great video Vic, keep them coming so wonderful!
Vic, come to visit the excavation below the Acropolis Museum! It opened to the public on the 21st of June 2019, the day after the 10th anniversary of the Museum! 🏛🙂⏰🎆
Thanks Vic for our viewing of this splendid museum. A tastefull synergy between ancient artistic sculptural prowess and modern architectural simplicity and minimalism which shows both off to best effect. There's always been something magical for me about seeing a human or animal figure emerging out of a rough slab of stone or marble. As a Brit I'm thankful that the Elgin marbles and other beautiful Greek artifacts are available for close viewing outside Greece but my conscience tells me that the originals should rightfully be seen in their home town. Perhaps with the modern technology of 3D printing it may be possible to create exact duplicates for display elsewhere ?
Nothing will make the Greeks as happy as seeing the original marbles coming back to Greece and placed in this museum that you see here (the exact locations, where the marbles will be placed at, are already identified in anticipation of the original pieces returning one day).
I'm trying to read ATM the book called plato the Republic, have u heard of this book about Greek history it's amazing although hard to understand his philosophy,
Hi, yes, I know about the book... Many, many years ago, when I was in New Jersey finishing University, I made the mistake to take a course in Greek philosophy - I found it so difficult to understand, so I know what you mean..
Awesome! Thanks very much. I though it wasn't allowed to record inside the museum. How did you managed to do that? The model of Parthenon is beatiful but surprise me that they show a reconstruction without any colors. Today we know that the Parthenon was painted and also we know the colors.
Thank you for viewing my videos. Yes, it would have been great to see the Parthenon marbles (or parts of the building exhibited in the museum) in their original colours..
No, I did not have a camera with me at that time, my previous room had a conference there and we had the palace to ourselves for a few hours for dinner..

Hi... I do not think I can recognize the melody that he is playing on the harp, it is definitely a Greek song from the 1960s... OMG, you were on the Acropolis pregnant?? Incredible memories I bet..
