What a marvellous testament to Leister such recordings are. Thanks to Stephen for making and keeping his recordings. Leister's sound is so compact and dense, I find it hard to imagine him being able to produce an ff on his setup.

Yes, indeed! I have known this wonderfully exquisite clarinetist since the 1970s, having heard him in more than a dozen live performances and masterclasses, over the years. Karl is a very classy and kind gentleman. He is the quintessential "ambassador" for our beloved instrument -- the clarinet! Take care, Herr Baumann.
