  • in which I start my annual makeup declutter series with a declutter of my brush collection. I haven't decluttered my makeup brushes in years, so it was time for a cull. Let's cut this collection down to fit it into a smaller organizer.

Brush declutter. WOW ok I watch this. Really interresting. Thanks for the video. I have a tons of brushes. Makeup brushes, painting brushes, art restoration brushes I use brushes everyday several yours a day for different purpose. Have my favorite and feel when I find my holy grail brush for a purpose, I need a backup of it. So I have tons or brushes.

I just use the same 10 - 15 brushes every day so I really don't even need as many as I ended up keeping.

    I have over a 1000 brushes. Yes, a thousand.
I had gave up a lot of them, but I literally can't declutter any of my beloved brushes.
I know I have 2 eyes, and in a lifetime could I use all of them all the time, but I don't even care.
Some people collect stuff that bring them happiness, and mine do the same for me.
It took me 4 years to gather them all, money that won't be back into my bank account, but I don't even regret it.
The zoeva concealer brush I can't get(other country left behind ) and I want it so badly. 😫
Brave of you getting rid of the ones you don't love.

Wow that's a ton of brushes. For me they are a very utilitarian part of my makeup collection so therefore easier for me to declutter. I have the same thing with bags. I just need something to carry stuff around, doesn't need to be pretty, it just has to work. lolz

The UD brush collection is so cool. Like I don't have a single UD palette (well, ok, I've got the lip palette recently) but they just look so cool all together, they have collectors value for sure :D Looking at the catrice triangle brushes, I need to search ebay and get them all and even backups, because I use the body brush and the foundation brush and they don't have them anymore. I'm not a sponge girl and finding a nice dense foundation brush isn't that easy. And I mean, washing specificaly foundation brushes is really a pain in a** so I kinda need more than one, to be able to procrastinate for long enough. Otherwise my declutter I did last year was kinda easy, I threw 90% of the freebies and drugstore brushes away and bought two sets of Royal&Langnickel brushes. :D Done :D I always feel so overwhelmed when I shoud chose one brush out of all the brushes and brands out there, that I end up not getting anything :D But I do plan a small DaVinci haul, they make really nice brushes and I need a few specific ones.
The thiny fan brush I think may be for like clearing of fall out when you want to work more accurate. Or that's what I would do with it.

Never heard of those brands. I heard the small fan brush can be used to separate your lashes after mascara.

@@FloatinginDreams I haven't either before I was looking into some recommendations and DaVinci is basically a german brand like Zoeva but not vegan and R&L is kinda professional brush brand and I do love mine, so I'm not sure why nobody ever talks about them. They have such a huge variety of brushes.
Ok I would have never thought of using it for lashes 😁

Decluttered my brushes last summer and still have way too many. Like you I love my Zoeva and Sigma ones and I treated myself to the Rephr set. I prefer real hair over synthetic brushes and I still own some very old face brushes from Barbara Hennemann when Bijenkorf still did the Drie Dwaze Dagen sales. Correct Barbara Hoffmann....

Isn't the brush company called "Barbara Hofmann"? But aahw, I want to travel to the Netherlands again and go to de Bijenkorf. 😃

Yep you are right, autocorrect sometimes plays some nasty word games🤔 And I for one can't wait to visit Aachen again (DM, Mueller, Rossmann, Douglas, TK Maxx and Sephora) Do you know by any chance if the branches that were inside Galeria Kaufhoff are still a thing?

Are the Rephr ones as great as everyone says? I'm a bit put off by the fact they only can be bought as a set...

This is great! When I first got really into makeup a couple years ago, I got several no name brush sets off Amazon. They are fine but..... as time has passed and I’ve learned more and acquired better brushes, I don’t use those old one anymore. Yet I still have them all. 🤪 I need to do this, too. It’s rather ridiculous all the brushes I have but don’t use. Oh well.... at least you’ve given me some motivation to clean them out. Thanks, my dear!😘

I wasn't even aware how many of my super old brushes I still owned. I thought I had already decluttered them when I last did this.

hi , i bought all the several sets of real techniques, then i tried nanshy and they are fabulous, so i have put almost all my real techniques into storage , Nanshy look stunning apply products really beautifully , and i am afraid i have a thing about having all my brushes matching , but i also have sigma skin cleansing set for skin care very expensive but worth it for how much i use them as i dislike using fingers ., those i love too and its one of those i apply my serums with , but i now have a fabulous range which work very well for me , but my foundation brushes 4 real techniques expert face brushes , fabulous so much so i stopped using my sponge ,
