Bob Seger, hands down, the KING of ballads... no one does them better. Been a fan of his for over 40 years and his Greatest hits w/Silver Bullet Band has stayed in my top 10 albums of all time that I never tire of listening to.
Remember, this is also a LIVE recording! Real musicians, real instruments, no computers, no over dubs, and about 12,000 people watching you! I have seen Bob live several times and he was an amazing performer. He retired from touring last year and he just turned 75!
Turn The Page, a song perfect in every way, is one of the best to come from the 70s. Bob Seger has the ability to paint a picture with his words, and his voice reaches right into you and tugs at your soul. And Alto Reed, on that freaky awesome sax. Good lawd!
I've seen him in concert 3 times, and was blown away each and every time!! Fabulous song writer and an even better performer!! "Like a Rock", "Her Strut ", "Main Street"
I grew up in the 70s. There was so much incredible music and beyond talented musicians. They all had their own sound as well. Steely Dan to Aerosmith, Zeppelin to James Taylor.
“So everyone who was singing then was a great artist?” YESSSSS!!!!! It is why some of us oldies while we like some new stuff don’t feel it can hold a candle to what we grew up listening to...
I love BTS bc of my daughter. We saw them in concert and I told everyone I let her come with ME!😂 But there’s nothing like 60’s, 70’s and even 80’s music!!!
J.B. Thank you for getting to Bob Seger! I'm here in Muskegon Michigan, the West side of the state and Bob is from Detroit/Dearborn, the East side. Bob is an amazing artist, he makes Michigan proud.
Against The Wind- Please! Bob Seger has so many hits it’ll amaze you. His first in 1968-Ramblin’ Gamblin Man His Silver Bullet Band is extraordinary. Goes with his unforgettable voice. He is a phenomenal wordsmith. Writes mostly about the everyday working man and woman. Along with songs about his life experiences and of course life in general. You’ve found a goldmine. Welcome…
I have MANY favorite-of-all-time songs. This one is way at the top of the list. Always, the live version.....like this. Excellent choice. In the '70's I got to see him live 4 times. Would go again tomorrow . . .
Bob Seger definately paid his dues. He started in the 60s and didn't become famous until the 70s. He is an incredible singer and songwriter. I saw him live in 1979...awesome show
Young man we just had this kind of talent on every FM station and just took it for granted. We loved our bands and great story tellers in the 70’s and 80’s.
I grew up near St. Louis, which is KSHE 95 country. Thanks to them, I heard whole album sides, even entire albums at night. All the gang would go one of our friend's homes. The guy had been in the army and brought home a boss quad stereo system. We were in heaven. Keep on keepin' on.
Bob Seger just turned 75 this month, and I am a year older than he is, so I have enjoyed his music for all these years. It is so gratifying to see his amazing talents appreciated by younger people at this time. I believe much of the credit for this resurgence goes to the reactors such as JBLETHAL, for reacting not only to Seger's music but to a plethora of all sorts of wonderful musical artists from past decades. May you all continue, and may RUclips keep this door open!
This song was released in January 1973. Bob Seger is a phenomenal musician, and parlays his talents along with The Silver Bullet Band, for an abundance of exceptional music.
You are in for a treat with Bob Seger, one of the all time greats, IMO. He started out in the late '60s with the Bob Seger System, doing acid rock, then evolved through a number of different styles with the Silver Bullet Band and the Mussel Shoals Band. In the late '70s to early '80s he absolutely OWNED the FM radio dial, pumping out great song after great song. He's a superb lyricist who can tell a story loud and clear and grab you by the heart, and also just tear up the stage. He's done SO many great songs I don't even know where to start.
Seger was never a media favorite, avoided the cameras. He was, however, a people’s favorite, toured the country year after year performing live. Most people new him, loved him and bought his albums.
Bob, like all the others in his time, made it by grinding it out in dirty bars and dives before making it big. They had no overnight youtube sensation chances. That's what made them have the ability to sing and write music the way they did.
Legend. Bob Seger is the OG blue-collar rock'n'roller. Lyrics that are off the chain - making the everyday into monumental; a voice that carries all the soul and passion of the blues; and clean, simple arrangements that elegantly convey the mood of the song.
There are lots of great Bob Seger songs. You have to remember we had tons, and tons of talent in the way back. The music industry won't give real talent airplay in today's world.
I think it's incredible that you are listening to and understanding the talent we had "back in the day". The music was the BEST in the 70's and 80's. Artists struggled...worked hard...didn't win a talent show for a million bucks and get a guaranteed album. They fought...worked clubs, etc. The talent like Seger was just incredible.
You're gonna love listening to his huge collection of hits. Great voice and storytelling. Mainstreet, Like A Rock, Travelin' Man/ Beautiful Loser. One of my first concerts in 1978.
You lucky f*** . I`ve been a fan since 1980 and never had a chance to see him in concert. I live in Norway, and he has never even been close to my country
Seger is awesome as you are gradually learning. Thx for doing this classic, JB! Try out "Roll Me Away" and tell me it doesn't make you just want to go out and do something big. ENJOY!!! So much to discover from Bob and SOOOO many other classic artists you would truly love.
This song is my favorite story-telling song, and perhaps the best of that type of all time, or at least of the rock era and later, IMO....can't help singing along...
I grew up on Seger and his contemporaries. Yes, we were very fortunate to have all those great singers and bands as the backdrop to our lives! Seger is one of my absolute favorites! Just an amazing singer/songwriter/musician.
Yes, finally Bob Seger. I love Bob Seger so much. Pick any of his songs and you'll do fine. My particular favourites are this one, Night Moves, Shame on the Moon, Kathmandu, The Fire Down Below, Still the Same, and The Fire Inside.
I've always loved this video. It shows the town where I grew up in the map behind him. I grew up in Granite City, close to St. Louis, on the Illinois side of the Mississippi. I grew up with Bob, too. The memories are overwhelming for me.
Night Moves Against The Wind ...ALLLLLLLL of his music. Just all of it. Please. Edit to add, the man is a real LEGEND. Bob Seger is a true musician in ever sense of the word.
It is always so amazing to me how some artists were able to put their experiences in song, and make it sound sooooo good. They make you feel as if you were right there with them. When you've got it ,you've got it. Bob, You got it.
Bob Seger is a living legend; keep listening to him and enjoy the journey. He is a consummate songwriter and evocative singer. Night Moves, Main Street, Like A Rock, Fire Down Below, and too many more to name.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!! It sounds especially good when turned up as loud as possible! 😀 I LOVE BOB SEGER!!! You can't go wrong with ANYTHING by Bob SEGER!!! I'm pretty sure that I requested Bob before, but.... I'M STILL WAITING FOR ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA!!!
I requested this song from you last year. I told you it was mine and my husband's "song" because it was played by a cover band at our wedding reception!! Bob Segar, is absolutely nothing but greatness!! Great reaction JBLETHAL ❤😘
I can tell you right now, your family knows their music and I like them. Love when the younger generation listens to Bob for the first time, great reactions. I hit the subscribe button.
Great reaction! I grew up in Omaha & was fresh out of high school when this song came out. I spent many hours on the dark & lonely highways around that city listening to Bob Seger’s amazing music. His song writing is unmatched and his soulful voice are legendary.
Bob Seger is definitely a rock legend. His talent and storytelling is up there with the best. “Still the Same” and “Against the Wind” are my favorites but just about any song you select will not disappoint!!
I’ve been a Seger fan for about 40 years. I was overjoyed to find “Rambling Gambling Man” on youtube recently. Filmed on a 1968 tv show (I was 2) and billed as the Bob Seger System he plays the piano with one hand while holding a mic in the other to sing. It’s one of my favorites of his.
Yes, THE TALENT!!!! My generation of music was nothing less than epic ! But now I look back and think, did we take it for granted? It was just normal for all of these gifted people to compete for our attention with their greatness !! And we thought nothing of it, until now.. now that we see today's music, and how it is "enhanced" to sound good, but even with all of the technology, it still doesnt compare!!!
Driving through the desert southwest listening to his albums was one of my favorite memories . I was driving to an observatory in New Mexico and this music was my only companion. just incredible, i saw lighting storms and the smell before it rains and just WOW
He does! He's genuinely... nice. He's a good guy. My grandfather was a musician in a band (no one you'dhave ever heard of, I'm sure of it), so I was introduced to all kinds of music very early. barnstormin with Bob seger, that rock-n-roll E-Street sax, his blues voice and piano. Hello Omaha, Hello Detroit, hello [where we at tonight], most honest-cool-wrapped my soul and heart with these words here is my story: on the road again
Seger is the real deal. I’ve seen him twice and yes, he was HUGE. He’s on his farewell tour now. You’ve heard his song’s, I’m willing to bet. You’re just scratching the surface with this guy.
This was released in 1973! You still haven't scratched the surface on reacting to great artists from the 60's, 70's and especially the 80's! Bob Seger is another one and you should react to "Mainstreet" and I love his cover of "The Little Drummer Boy"!
It’s interesting how great even the average musician had to be to make it. I saw Bob Seger in the 80’s and it was fantastic. Also, I don’t Remember concerts being expensive back then
I love the artists from the seventies especially. They had pure, raw talent. No auto tune, or computer enhancement. You would never catch one of them on a stage lip syncing. The music was their life! And that came out in every note they sung or played.
Seger is a legend. Absolutely awesome. I’m kind of in a Badfinger kick lately along with America. If u r looking for more recommendations those are two pretty damn good choices.
Back during the 70's, the record companies gave the artists/band room to grow, usually 2-3 albums. That's the reason there were so many fantastic artists/bands/songs out there. Today, if you don't get a hit within the first album, you are finished. It's all about the money these days, and not the music.
This music is from an era that seriously talented musicians produced some of the greatest music ever made, before all the electronic, computerized garb, not that there is anything wrong with new music... all music is good!!! I am very lucky to have lived through this period. I was also lucky enough to be in many garage bands and a local DJ. Listening to this music makes so many memories rush back.... outstanding!!!!
For some reason Bob Segar came through my hometime so much my highschool and college years. This live will move you to tears. He's blue eyed rock and soul from Detroit and we were in augusta, Ga. He toured more than Journey. Listen to more segar when you can! Thanks!
This song is from 1973 with a newer video put together with scenes put together through the decades. I think he retired form singing a few years ago, but he's still around today. His more popular song is Old Time Rock and Roll. I would suggest Shakedown from the Beverly Hills Cop II sound track. James, Bob Seger is a huge and amazing rabbit hole with great stories.
I consider myself so lucky that I got to enjoy this all of these singers and their music when it was just coming out,and lucky I get to experience it again "for the first time"through the eyes and ears of you.A new generation of someone who loves it like we do.Thank you for sharing you musical journey with us,as we share our love of music with you.
Pronounced See ger. And yes he’s and Is awesome! Saw him in concert back in 78! Strong voice and amazing lyrics. Against the Wind, Shame on the Moon, Hollywood Nights ... just to get you started. 🤘🏻🤘🏻💓
Love your reaction. Bob Seger is a national treasure. I've loved him for years. I can't think of any song of his that I don't like. My all-time favorite though is "We've Got Tonight." He wrote it. I can't listen to this song without sobbing!
Bob Seger, hands down, the KING of ballads... no one does them better. Been a fan of his for over 40 years and his Greatest hits w/Silver Bullet Band has stayed in my top 10 albums of all time that I never tire of listening to.

1960 - 1989 the best 30 year span of music / artists!
Jim Frederick agree
I've seen him in concert 3 times, and was blown away each and every time!! Fabulous song writer and an even better performer!!
"Like a Rock", "Her Strut ", "Main Street"
Bob Seger is the truth, he is one of our best songwriters in history.
Agreed. One of the best in the last 100 years. Not about record selling. He is the full package.
Amen to that!

Music was GREAT in the 70's. I was a teen and hardly missed a concert. Good memory's

He's always so humble and kind, you hear his voice and know it's him
You are in for a treat with Bob Seger, one of the all time greats, IMO. Hell yeah. Classic all time song. Thanks.
Seger was never a media favorite, avoided the cameras. He was, however, a people’s favorite, toured the country year after year performing live. Most people new him, loved him and bought his albums.
Bob got throat cancer some years ago and was told he'd never sing again. He proved them wrong and is still singing to this day.
Bob, like all the others in his time, made it by grinding it out in dirty bars and dives before making it big. They had no overnight youtube sensation chances. That's what made them have the ability to sing and write music the way they did.
Epic group. They are ALL OVER my playlist. Glad you discovered them! And yes...it truly was The Golden age for music!
Still the same is my favorite by Bob!!! He is a Living Legend!!!!

You only have at least a dozen more greats from one of the best story tellers who ever lived!
When he opens up with the beauty and fullness of his voice, that's art.
Glad to share this monster talent with new generations.

His voice is so soothing. Night Moves is my favorite. Your family has great taste!
I used to go to so many concerts in my youth. I saw Bob back in 93. It was in Indianapolis. This man is LEGENDARY!
My favorite Bob Seger song by far!!! Was once my favorite song of all-time!! 6:09!!
Bob Segar Against the Wind. One of the best songs ever written. ❤️
Driving through the desert southwest listening to his albums was one of my favorite memories . I was driving to an observatory in New Mexico and this music was my only companion. just incredible, i saw lighting storms and the smell before it rains and just WOW
He still loves preforming. Always smiles as he sings.
He does! He's genuinely... nice. He's a good guy. My grandfather was a musician in a band (no one you'dhave ever heard of, I'm sure of it), so I was introduced to all kinds of music very early. Once he took me to TN to see a show. I was really young. I remember the "venue" being small, and figured it was just another one of his friend'e bands we were there to listen to. We got to meet the musicians after. And I didn't know it until I looked at photos from that trip many years later, but there I am with my grandpa and Bob Seger. I remember not even knowing at that age who he was, just a nice dude we took a picture with- assumed that was the friend of my grandpa's we were there to see. And I was so bored having to stand around while my Papa and Bob Seger chatted with each other lol
@@Bette_Fontenot He's got a 2021/22 tour going right now.
There are so many hits from this amazing guy. He doesn’t have a bad song!!

Outstanding! Wish I could say that I'd seen him.
I saw Bob Seger last summer...final tour...he was still rockin the stage over 70 years olds!! I love Bob Seger :)
Bob Seger is a musical genius. This is my favorite song of his.

Love Bob Seger. First saw him live in 1978. Pure talent.
I've been a fan of his for over 50 years since I saw him at my high school sock hops in the late 60's.
Thank you for your reaction. Loved it. This is just a great song Bob Seger has a lot of great songs out there. I’m glad you found him 😃👍🌼✌️

Bob has been writing great songs for nearly 50 years man. Please listen to his amazing songbook. So many great tracks to enjoy.
I grew up to his music. He is a fantastic story teller. So many great songs. One of my favorites......’Shame on the Moon’.
Seger is a legend. Absolutely awesome. I’m kind of in a Badfinger kick lately along with America. If u r looking for more recommendations those are two pretty damn good choices.

Absolutely love this one... The era isn't complete, if no B.S.!!! Another of his, among many... Her Strut...
Saw him in concert and he was awesome! I’m an old head (53). Just enjoying you young peeps finding my music era. So exciting.
So many of my memories of high school are remembered everytime I hear one of his songs.

Bob Segar is Classic Rock Storytelling...
I saw Bob Seger in Cincinnati in the 70's. He is just Great! Exactly Right they do not make them like this anymore!
I think this is why RUclips came about, this music has to be shared so the world knows and remembers.
Love your reaction. Bob Seger is a national treasure. I've loved him for years. I can't think of any song of his that I don't like. My all-time favorite though is "We've Got Tonight." He wrote it. I can't listen to this song without sobbing!
