this is the epitome of Trents talent personified with the best NIN support had to offer of Danny Lohner and Jerome Dillon. A trio I will miss forever...
Danny Lohner, like someone else said......he played bass and guitar for a long time with the live version of the band. and that's Jerome Dillon on drums, also played with them a long time until he had some heart problems and had to drop out in the middle of a tour.
I beat my machine it's a part of me it's inside of me I'm stuck in this dream it's changing me I am becoming The me that you know he had some second thoughts He's covered with scabs and he is broken and sore The me that you know doesn't come around much That part of me isn't here anymore All pain disappears it's the nature of my circuitry Drowns out all I hear there's no escape from this my new consciousness That me that you know used to have feelings But the blood has stopped pumping and he's left to decay The me that you know is now made up of wires And even when I'm right with you I'm so far away I can try to get away but I've strapped myself in I can try to scratch away the sound in my ears I can see it killing away all my bad parts I don't want to listen but it's all too clear Hiding backwards inside of me I feel so unafraid Annie, hold a little tighter I might just slip away It won't give up it wants me dead Goddamn this noise inside my head
Feel like there is no way they only did this one song I want the rest of this session. I can’t be the only one. Quarantine revisiting nin whole catalogue. Like I’m falling in love all over again.
still will always be my favorite due to its pure ambience and rawness. hesitation marks is fabulous but it doesnt have raw performances like this. i cant believe i have front row tix to see this man on november 19th. im going to freak the FUCK OUT just like last time i saw trent in seattle in 08
You can see how Trent just wants to freak out because the song is like Trent freaking out and what I mean is look how he plays the piano angry near the end but hey what do I know he could just be doing that himself
agree completely. sometime just after And All That Could've Been (sadly, just as I was getting into them) it all went wrong. saw them live on the With Teeth tour, thankfully they mostly avoided playing new stuff, but the second it came out the whole atmosphere changed.. thankfully only for the duration of the song ;)
That would be a 13/4 time signature, not alternating between two separate time signatures per measure. However, that breakdown is a good way to apply counting that measure in a practical way that isn't as cumbersome as counting to 13 as the player performing the time signature.
all is as it should be, this music is not for mainstream people or media. it would get ruined, washed out, and copied a million times over. Rock n Roll and all of its cousins brothers and sisters should stay in the rebellious shadows where they were born.
In this era ab-so-damn-lutely. I have no idea what the fuck happened since then. This was the song (and performance) that made me think he's a genius.Creatively he's gotten lazy since then.
Are any of the other performances from this session up anywhere?? I remember watching the "Fragile" and "World Went Away" performances on the NIN site way back when...
back when you could download cool shit off nin.com. gotta wonder why TR hasn't made this and the other 2 live recordings from 'Still' available on the official channel?
Feels a bit like trent did Jerome dirty, especially after he covered up for him after his overdose. He's just been written out of the bands history, as seen at the hall of fame event. What a pity!
ok.what this song means to me personally is..me n my addictions and being in an acute mania.drugs r gone.i am manic n the symptoms of my mania kick my ass at times and i want all this out of my god damned head n addiction wants me dead.im in AA n had 5 years at one time...oh the mania is causing rage attacks too.thats basically it.i ramble...i dont want to take up space.
It would kick ass to see a NIN "Unplugged." Come on, don't look at me like that, you know it would.
Dr Wolfenstein I would say absolutely not, but after seeing a performance like this, I’ve realized that it would be unbelievably awesome.
It's called Still
I think if they would have done an unplugged in ‘99 it would have brought on even more fans. I couldn’t really see it now.
@@Satoshi2622 Still only has a couple of "unplugged" style tracks, unfortunately. Still a great album though (no pun intended).
Not to overstate but this may be the greatest rock song ever recorded
this song is absolutely amazing. this version fucking perfect.
Best version of this song. Incredible. So much emotion raw. Gives me chills.
aqui no brasil a gente chama ''much emotion raw'' de ''sangue nos olhos''
Absolute perfection.
wow, I have viewed this like 25 times. It is one of my favorite videos! I am shocked to notice in 7 years it has 50k views only. This is a gem.
this is the epitome of Trents talent personified with the best NIN support had to offer of Danny Lohner and Jerome Dillon. A trio I will miss forever...
What I wouldn't give to have been in that room at that time. One of my absolute favorite songs of all time.
Me atrevo a decir que Nine Inch Nails es una banda jodidamente genial y Trent Reznor es un maldito genio musical, nunca decepciona.
Danny Lohner, like someone else said......he played bass and guitar for a long time with the live version of the band. and that's Jerome Dillon on drums, also played with them a long time until he had some heart problems and had to drop out in the middle of a tour.
This song, primarily this performance, is the musical expression of the post-iraq me.
I keep coming back to this video year after year, still gives me chills
its just soooooooooooo good...
Jerome Dillon's drumming though.
I beat my machine it's a part of me it's inside of me
I'm stuck in this dream it's changing me I am becoming
The me that you know he had some second thoughts
He's covered with scabs and he is broken and sore
The me that you know doesn't come around much
That part of me isn't here anymore
All pain disappears it's the nature of my circuitry
Drowns out all I hear there's no escape from this my new consciousness
That me that you know used to have feelings
But the blood has stopped pumping and he's left to decay
The me that you know is now made up of wires
And even when I'm right with you I'm so far away
I can try to get away but I've strapped myself in
I can try to scratch away the sound in my ears
I can see it killing away all my bad parts
I don't want to listen but it's all too clear
Hiding backwards inside of me I feel so unafraid
Annie, hold a little tighter I might just slip away
It won't give up it wants me dead
Goddamn this noise inside my head
Best song from TDS. Love this live!!
Love the album. This song is cathartic.
Feel like there is no way they only did this one song I want the rest of this session. I can’t be the only one. Quarantine revisiting nin whole catalogue. Like I’m falling in love all over again.
There’s a full album!
how can anyone be this fucked up and this successful at the same time? this is brilliant.
I ask him that same question when I meet him. He said “ I just know how to articulate my pain”.
Mind control
tront during the song >>>>:(((
tront directly after end of song: ._.
Remember when this got played on MTV back in 2002 to promote the release of and All That Could Have Been
Jesus. This is like they walked into a piano bar and absolutely destroyed the instruments. Fricking amazing.
TRENT is such a genius maniac
still will always be my favorite due to its pure ambience and rawness. hesitation marks is fabulous but it doesnt have raw performances like this. i cant believe i have front row tix to see this man on november 19th. im going to freak the FUCK OUT just like last time i saw trent in seattle in 08
Still back here in 2021!
Wtf. This needs way more views! NIN is the best.
One of the best moments of Nine inch nails. Trent totally nails it
Anyone who doesn't have this album in there top 10 makes me sad
best version
I live in Nome Alaska, snow on my roof just MELTED! LOVE NIN.
I've got this set as my wake up alarm. It puts a new day in a nice frame to start with.
This is amazing.
There was another vid of this that had wayyyyy more views, I'm assuming it was pulled. Had better sound quality, too.
Used to go the the old broken typrwriter nin.com site and watch this in the archives all the time.
You can see how Trent just wants to freak out because the song is like Trent freaking out and what I mean is look how he plays the piano angry near the end but hey what do I know he could just be doing that himself
This song is just ENORME
My fav vid and song by NIN!!
agree completely. sometime just after And All That Could've Been (sadly, just as I was getting into them) it all went wrong. saw them live on the With Teeth tour, thankfully they mostly avoided playing new stuff, but the second it came out the whole atmosphere changed.. thankfully only for the duration of the song ;)
Eu simplesmente acho que o álbum still é genial
That's so cool.
Fucking brilliant!
The NIN Hotline: knowthescore/becoming.html (for those wondering about the time signature)
Oh look at that. Two people's fingers accidentally hit thumbs down.
year later still at 2. fuck em
This song is a language, that only Trent can speak to me in, only NIN can make me understand.
NotJessika it's called depression lol
Holy shit. Fantastic.
Fucking Excellent!

Awe, moisture!
No escape from my new consciousness

@potterviejo Danny Lohner is playing guitar
awesome
"i beat my machine..."
xD
I fucking love it... thanks for uploading
Trent is a freckN Genius
F*cking HOT!!!
it won't give/up, wants me dead... goddamn this noise inside my head
Pretty neat stripped down version.
Lovin' you more and more.
I swear he peaked with this. To me anyway. It was downhill from there even though, to be fair, Year Zero wasn't BAD.
i agree to a point, things definitely changed. ... things seem to cycle, i hope it does
I wish i could find this track without vocals to do at karaoke
yup
Yeah... yeah it would.
In this era ab-so-damn-lutely. I have no idea what the fuck happened since then. This was the song (and performance) that made me think he's a genius.Creatively he's gotten lazy since then.
@twdmusic don't forget Charlie Clouser
this is SO fucking amazing. fuck.
Are any of the other performances from this session up anywhere?? I remember watching the "Fragile" and "World Went Away" performances on the NIN site way back when...

150bpm 7/4 to 3/2 repeat
Feels a bit like trent did Jerome dirty, especially after he covered up for him after his overdose.
He's just been written out of the bands history, as seen at the hall of fame event.
What a pity!

@naeS1Sean Snape looks like him. Not the reverse.
Family
@Lisaserene1 its just a song!!!!!
I'd call it 7/4 + 6/4 repeating.
Makes me sick there's only this many views on this video....
That part of me isn't here anymore
Even if they do you will always be able to find it via google video.
Hey PennState boy, how are you doing, Michael Trent Reznor
Annie hold a little tighter I might just slip away.
Hiding backwards inside of me..
He never came to Alaska...
@gruvholmz lol
Hahahaha!
Gosh darn money grubs
is this a concert from hogwarts?
yes. but sadly with all the shitty music being produced nowadays he may not be remembered.
