This type of "Screamo" is called Post-Hardcore or Metalcore. Both of which showed up in the 80's as an off shoot of the Punk movement. It evolved and picked things up from different genres of music eventually becoming what it is today. Post-Hardcore and Metalcore have influence from mostly Punk but also Rock, Metal, and slightly Grunge. Those who say this isn't Punk are wrong. It's a sub-genre of Punk and it's one of the more well know Sub-genres of Punk. It's music. It contains a beat, melody, tempo, and all the classifications of what music is supposed to have. Screaming is a vocal technique not just yelling into a mic. Rise Against is a band that yells into the mic. Screaming isn't that. Do your research, then talk shit about people's favorite type of music.
Really? I mean had you listened to the song before now. Though when you look at the lyrics it's not really all that sad. I guess you could say it is a little bit. But it's more about two people who no matter where they are, or what's happening love each other. Fort Minor Where'd you go is a similar song but actually sad
I know this song is written to describe the complicated relationship between a singer and his lover, but I think this song really explains what military families go through as well
SAME WITH THE SONG SOMEBODY I USED TO KNOW I HATE THE ORIGINAL BUT LOVE THE MAYDAY PARADE COVER ITS SO GOOD BUT IF THEY MADE A TONIGHT TONIGHT BY HOT CHELLE RAE I WILL STILL HATE IT NO MATTER WHAT I WILL ALWAYS HAT THAT SONG I HAVE A BAD PAST WITH THAT SONG AND I HATE THE LIVING SHIT OUTTA THAT SONG
Yep except for the fact that music is literally the most subjective thing in the world. Which means the statement you just made is false. You are one hundred percent right. Pop goes Punk is utter shit at this point atleast IN MY OPINION. See how that worked
Is it possible to look at a video on Fearless, Rise, or Equal Vision records without seeing an argument about fucking sub genres? Seriously. Let that shit die.
I used to be obsessed with this song when it came out while I was in middle school, but I went back to it today to listen to it again and realized that it today, I still love it, but it has a completely new and relevant meaning to my life. I met the love of my life 2 years ago and Im going into the military soon, so I can imagine how my significant other will feel when I listen to the chorus of this song and I can also imagine how I'm going to feel when he says "I don't even know what city I'm at/can't apologize because I don't even know what I'm doing wrong" because again being in the military it's likely I'll be stationed somewhere foreign, a place I don't even know, and I know all of the time my significant other and I will spend apart will be hard for us both, and I know I'll end up feeling like I'll need to apologize for all of that time spent away from her but at the same time I'm doing what is right, I'm doing what I believe in but there's always that price we pay as well as the risk we take in the possibility of paying the ultimate price.
I freaking love this song so much. I don't think anyone can understand how happy this song makes me. Just the clean vocals are heaven and the screams are perfection. If I could only listen to one song for the rest of the year I would definitely pick this song.
Finally someone knows. Post-hardcore is a au genre of punk, metalcore is a du genre of heavy metal, and you are right this is post-hardcore. Glad someone here actually know what posthardcore is
Omg I’ve been looking for this for years!! It was In my head and I heard this around 9 years ago and here we go the god dam song!!!!! (Pray For The People That Haven’t Found This Song)
I haven't heard this song in so long! OMG And I used to love it! I'm certainly making up for lost time...I have listened to it literally 10x already, I don't even know when I'll stop...I predict 3 days of 80%+ just this song, and 20% other songs. That's how I do it when I found a song I loved, yet got over and forgot about. THANK YOU for putting this up!
Personally, I don't really like Payphone; a bit overdone with the screaming, and something's off with the "ring ring, motherfucker" and the section immediately after, were the reasons if I recall correctly. Boyfriend, though... something's disturbing about Justin Bieber's lyrics actually being really good in a different genre. And a screamo "Swagging!" is hard to listen to with a straight face.
i'd DIE to see some pop artists cover this scene's songs. it'd bring more ears to the bands and a feeling of equality & respect between mainstream and underground artists.
It's not the songs/ lyrics that are always "bad" (all opinions honestly). It's the artists. Change the band = change the sound = other people will like it. I love SECRETS and their style of music, but I hate the sound of pop music. Pop punk? Hell yea, one of my favorite genres. Pop? Nope.
so what if he's screaming? that's their style. it's still a pretty good cover and i love it. if you're complaining so much, why don't you just go and make your own cover?
This a good way for people to realize that just because a band screams, it doesn't mean they aren't just as talented as the other little pop bands, because they can sing it just as well -- better even.
Met the bassist at warped yesterday, he's a really humble guy. I bought their new album that he was walking around selling, i gotta say it was worth the money.
I really don't wanna be mean about the original but I love this version SO much better! Honestly the original isn't that good if you take away neon hitch but this one is just.... theres no words to describe how awesome it is...
damn i listen to this and i remember shit from when i was 16. im 18 now with a fiance and kid on the way but damn. i miss this stuff it helps me reflect on the past and think how im not gonna do the same mistakes.
+Jorge Leyva Congrats on the child, It's the same for me, I'm on some of those sprees where I am listening to all the things I listened to years ago, Brings back memories and mistakes.
+MyKindOfCrazy dude you are 14 what years what mistakes You haven't even lived yet You are at the age of school homework and maybe family problems Im sorry but idk if you would be able to make mistakes that would reflect on your life Am not try to be tude
AngelDarling xx Trust me, You can make a lot of mistakes when you're a teenager that could reflect on your life, And the guy who wrote this comment is 18, Reflecting on his PAST mistakes, I was just trying to leave a comment, trying to tell him that he isn't the only one that has made mistakes, I never said mine were huge, They may not be, But they may have changed my life.
I really feel like Gym Class Heroes was trying to make it big like Fort Minor did on Where'd You Go... This song just seems like a rip off of that. But I really like this cover of it.

Damn! Gave em hell. Lol
Dan DeLano who the fuck cares....?
@@kevintucker7423 I care along with the other 66 who liked this comment. Watchu gonna do?
Screamo isn't a genre of music though.
This is a sub-genre of metal, which originates from classical music anyway. Try again.
Well put bro, Im learning how to scream for my band im getting together and quite honestly it takes a lot of time and effort and will power to do it.
I never realised how sad this song actually was
Gina Mann ... same
All it takes sometimes is another rendition
Really? I mean had you listened to the song before now. Though when you look at the lyrics it's not really all that sad. I guess you could say it is a little bit. Such an insightful thing to say! I never looked at it from that perspective, cheers for that
So true. I feel so bad for the ones who come home to find they moved on.
Not just a singer. Anyone who travels a lot.
Personally I like the Punk versions better than the originals :p
SAMMMMMEEEEEEE
Lol now someone gets what I'm talking about :D
same
me too
I prefer these covers over the original songs, but most of the covers aren't actually punk.
"lets get the songs everyone hates and make them love them"
thanks .
I actually like the original too though
Is it possible to look at a video on Fearless, Rise, or Equal Vision records without seeing an argument about fucking sub genres? Seriously. Let that shit die.
No it's not possible
listen you fucking turtle...you're absolutely right lol
Thank you Secrets for covering this song. I absolutely love it.
I love this so fucking much. This is Secrets song now. They totally made it their own
I think I've played this a good few times for a year now.
I just LOVE when he's growling it's just so... growly *-*
I used to be obsessed with this song when it came out while I was in middle school, but I went back to it today to listen to it again and realized that it today, I still love it, but it has a completely new and relevant meaning to my life. I actually like this cover version more than I do the original version.😎👍👌🙌🙏👏
Same
fearless records is by far my favorite record company they signed so many good bands
Best pop goes punk song for me, the only song I'd replay more than 5 times c:
Best. Cover. Ever!
this is my favorite punk goes pop song ever. it's 2020 and i'm headbanging to this during quarantine. damn it's been years ago i feel kinda old
It's now 2023, still listening to the classic punk goes pop cover x)
Why does Fearless Records always use prezi for their lyric vids??
I really like the balance between the light singing and the dark screamo.
When I clicked it, I thought it'd be life a soft cover? But it's screamo and I kinda enjoy it now.
Good \m/
This isn't screamo dumbass
***** its not i agree but it still has false chord vocals, so technically it is screamo, but its not deathcore
***** Metalcore
John Trollinski yeah i know, im more of a fan of metalcore then deathcore, like DWP or AA
Secrets have always been my favorite band, since their debut album ♡ I absolutely love them
November 2019 : oh my God... This song still makes me cryin'.
I freaking love this song so much. I don't think anyone can understand how happy this song makes me. Just the clean vocals are heaven and the screams are perfection. If I could only listen to one song for the rest of the year I would definitely pick this song.
I really like what they did with this track. They made it sound like an original. Maybe not a SECRETS original, but it's still a great cover.
I don't know what it is but the screaming is so intense in this I love it
Love the bass in this!!!
love this song. its chill and powerful at the same time. the sort of song you can listen to in any mood. dont know any other songs that achieve that
Has anyone in the damn comment section heard of post-hardcore??? Smh
Finally someone knows. Post-hardcore is a au genre of punk, metalcore is a du genre of heavy metal, and you are right this is post-hardcore. Glad someone here actually know what posthardcore is
LeDelightful Paradox Fuckin right? Bout time someone got it!

Omg I’ve been looking for this for years!! It was In my head and I heard this around 9 years ago and here we go the god dam song!!!!! (Pray For The People That Haven’t Found This Song)
If your like me you enjoy all types of music, and personally i find both versions of this song to be good.
I haven't heard this song in so long! OMG And I used to love it! I'm certainly making up for lost time...I have listened to it literally 10x already, I don't even know when I'll stop...I predict 3 days of 80%+ just this song, and 20% other songs. …this version makes me so happy ^_^
me too [=
A childhood song covered in my favourite music genre? Definitely what I want!!
Amazing how all it takes is a different voice to change the feel of lyrics
I like both versions but this 😍
same
same here
Likewise ;)
This song really helps when I'm sad. Great cover!
One of the best covers to grace my earlobes.
One of the best songs off PGP5 right next to Paradise, Glad You Came, Payphone and Boyfriend!
Oh my god the boy friend cover was like a million times better than the original I was like yeaaaaa go issues
Omg the heavy/screaming parts are really good
you cannot even compare these songs to the original because so much has changed
So I was having eargasms, and my mom was just giving me weird looks.
WORTH IT.
I wonder what would happen if pop goes punk .-.
Couldn't pull it off xD
i'd DIE to see some pop artists cover this scene's songs. it'd bring more ears to the bands and a feeling of equality & respect between mainstream and underground artists.
Oh god no lol
technicality1 Oh do please, give some examples on how we are cunts.
Well didn't think you would write four paragraphs about it, eh it shows you care I guess.. well have fun with that.
This song slaps.
Its funny how different voices can change peoples veiw of these pop songs lol
It's not the songs/ lyrics that are always "bad" (all opinions honestly). It's the artists. Change the band = change the sound = other people will like it.
I love SECRETS and their style of music, but I hate the sound of pop music.
Pop punk? Hell yea, one of my favorite genres.
Pop? Nope.
Forever will love all the pop goes x
For whatever reason I always interpret this song in a familial way.
i can give you one that's essentially this but in a familial sense
it's by fort minor though
Axel Kannibal Where'd You Go, I know. But I always saw this song as being about a non-romantic love
Thank you, whether you were taking up for me or not. I still appreciate that you commented that. It was very lovely of you.
so what if he's screaming? that's their style. it's still a pretty good cover and i love it. if you're complaining so much, why don't you just go and make your own cover?
Secrets has become one of my favorite bands as of lately and this is just an addition to their greatness.
This is mental. Compared to the original. Love it !
this song sounds pretty good like this c:
The original is great yes but this one is more made for people who enjoy hardcore or screamo more there's no reason for anyone to argue about it
thumbs up
Seriously some of ra liking a song is just there oppinion and there is no reason to argue about some one else's oppinion
Mathew Beaton your spelling is horrific
Brock Worthington Your existence is horrific
Mathew Beaton shots fired! Haha
*starts crying because of the perfection of the song* BEST SONG EVER!!!! :D
this is so much better than the original. To the people who don't like the screaming, i personally think its beautiful(:
When I heard this song I was like hell yes! Now this is music to my ears. I like pop but I love punk!!!
Could I use a little piece of this song for a video? I would name it in the video.
You would have to personally email fearless records
Not really, just have to give them credit
This version is so good and I don't even listen to this genre of music.
0 to 100 real quick man
This a good way for people to realize that just because a band screams, it doesn't mean they aren't just as talented as the other little pop bands, because they can sing it just as well -- better even.
This version gives me more nostalgia than the original-
Met the bassist at warped yesterday, he's a really humble guy. I bought their new album that he was walking around selling, i gotta say it was worth the money.
Is it possible to play it in standard tuning?
UGH WHY IS EVERYTHING SECRETS DOES SO AMAZING?
+Baseball Kings the proper term is not Screamo, but I respect your opinion.
You're new to GoogleTube, aren't you?
Nostalgia listening to this tonight... Thank God for this music
i love the screamer in this
Love this!! The screaming is just perfect
This version >>>>>>> Normal version
I honesty really liked it in the beginning and then the screaming came and literally my mouth dropped
All these arguments on a video people are just supposed to be enjoying... come on guys, let's all grow up a little.
True we need entertainment in life
This is one of my favorite Punk Goes.. song. 2nd to Your Love by I See Stars. Brings back memories ❤️
I really don't wanna be mean about the original but I love this version SO much better!
Honestly the original isn't that good if you take away neon hitch but this one is just....
theres no words to describe how awesome it is...
Love love love!!! This cover>>>>>love
damn i listen to this and i remember shit from when i was 16. im 18 now with a fiance and kid on the way but damn. i miss this stuff it helps me reflect on the past and think how im not gonna do the same mistakes.

+Jorge Leyva Congrats on the child, It's the same for me, I'm on some of those sprees where I am listening to all the things I listened to years ago, Brings back memories and mistakes.
+MyKindOfCrazy dude you are 14 what years what mistakes

This song has gotten me through rough times along with many of their original songs.
I prefer this version
There is only one word to describe this.
Epic
So much better than the original. :)
Best idea ever! I love punk goes pop!

Punk goes pop is phenomenal.
;-; It was a bad idea listening to this after my best friend told me she was moving and wouldn't be going to highschool with me. :I

This brings me back to the good old days.
The ones who disliked it are the ones who hate the post hardcore version and love the horrible original one
Actually the original is actually pretty good
+Maryam Qayyoom Did you just contradict yourself? fucking 13 year olds.
+Gizzy Pope no he corrected himself
I'm really confused and scared about what u said pls help meh

I hadn't heard the Stanton version. Thanks for pointing me in that direction.
I really feel like Gym Class Heroes was trying to make it big like Fort Minor did on Where'd You Go... This song just seems like a rip off of that. But I really like this cover of it.
I could listen to this all day.
I like the Punk version better than the original one I love rock and scream better that pop and others
Bought. Downloaded. Listen to it 24/7.
I listened to this first and the original sounds bad in comparison.
