No post-processing just simple direct recordings of the output from Malekko's tabletop synthesizer, Manther. Enjoy! Interested in private lessons? www.danielrdeha...
Man oh man... I really didn’t have any interest in the Manther until I heard this! I’ve gotta try and get my hands on one now 👌 Seems like an instrument I could easily lose myself in for hours! ❤️🎹
hello!! really nice demo!! I would like to know a few things before buying it : - is it possible to do program changes? -is the midi out doing midi through too?
I’ll be posting an in-depth video manual for this thing soon, once I’ve had a little more time to dig deep into this, but it seems like all sliders and knobs are automatable, but the switches are not. Not sure about menu option yet either. Stay tuned!
nothing in particular. anything is helpful. I have not yet delved very deep. what firmware version is your manther? I have not been able to find where to download the latest version.
I like working within limitation so sometimes I’ll create big poly sounds by layering multiple takes of a mono synth. But at the end of the day mono synths and poly synths are like apples and oranges to me.
I have the M32. And TBH, this looks to be way more fun, if you simply want to get great sounds in short time, with the compromise of giving up the versatility that is the M32 patch capability. I like the M32, but it can be tedious to get great sounds, compared to what I see here, which seems you can sculpt the sound so much faster. This, plus the fact the M32 sequencer is a challenging exercise in memorization of how to program it. The screen on this would seem to make the sequencer experience much easier.
At the moment the Manther can only sequence external gear that supports CV and Gate input. Sound's like Malekko has plans for adding more MIDI input and output features in future firmware updates. So maybe someday?
I don't understand why the Manther isn't more popular. This thing is insane!
Maybe cos the one I bought did not have an operating system on the motherboard and has gone back to USA for a month to be fixed.

Im currently working on an Ep with two of them. Thats it. Minimalism. Its not a perfect machine but its sound - no one else has it.
@buzzfunk is the album out? I'd be interested in giving it a listen.
This is the best demo of this synth Ive seem so far. Awesomeness just pours out of it.
Had my eye on the Manther for a little while now... it will make its way in to my studio. Every video i watch i love it more and more
Just got mine yesterday! Thanks for doing this. What an awesome synth!
whole video was absolutely mesmerizing to me. sounds out of this world
This is pretty much Boards Of Canada in a box.
I can't wait to get one!
This really expanded my perception of what can be done with the Manther. Just picked one up and I'm even more pumped. Thanks!
Thank you! Loving this video format, as you can just listen to it and enjoy the tracks! Can’t wait to get my Manther next week
I really like this - plenty of character and the sequencer has a proper song mode.
Sounds absolutely gorgeous

Haha! Sorry!
What a beautiful instrument, can't wait to get my hands on
Fantastic performance. Thank you.
Magnificent demo! 😎
Simply Brilliant! Thank You.
amazing... i expect nothing less from my man hermes pan.
Love it... I should buy one! Very beautiful demo!
Great demo, this thing sounds incredible. Looks like it has a great sequencer too with cv out 😀
Lovely stuff Daniel. I've 'browsed' through this session a few times. Manther arriving soon :)
Thanks!
great demo! many thanks!
Great demo! I own a Manther myself and I feel like the options are endless.
Very versatile. I was thinking about MBF Dominion Club but this looks like a contender for me.
I’m really enjoying it so far!
This video is amazing! Nice work! Just checked there web site, they are on sale!
killer unit indeed
hello!!
really nice demo!!

Beautiful sounds bro!🎧🎹💫✨😵👌👍BrAp oN!!¡!✌
I think the sequencer on this is pretty good. thats what malekko should make next.... a hardware sequencer....
Great demo. Lovely synth.
Muy bueno!!
Nice demo. Did Malekko make the Mr.D?
Is the Mr D Drum machine on the market?

great demo! You cover it's musical and experimental side... Is every parameter automatable in the sequencer?
I’ll be posting an in-depth video manual for this thing soon, once I’ve had a little more time to dig deep into this, but it seems like all sliders and knobs are automatable, but the switches are not. Not sure about menu option yet either. Stay tuned!
New update is out again!
Could you advise me the firmware version as of Jan 2020 and the method of updating as there is no usb connection.
Thank You
J Horrobin
Great video and lovely sounding. If you jack out the individual waveforms are they still present in the Source mixer or are they removed/unavailable?
Still there.
That's really great.
Do you need a keyboard ?
please show more of your programming in a future video
Planning on it! I have 2-3 more videos planned for the Manther. Is there anything in particular you wanted me to go over/include?
nothing in particular. anything is helpful. I have not yet delved very deep. what firmware version is your manther? I have not been able to find where to download the latest version.
Pretty sure mine is 1.0.0. I don’t think there is a newer firmware yet, but I’m sure they are working on one.
anything related to the sequencer and all its related functions
Working on it.
Can you record preset?
I think my manther sounds different. even the oscilloscope would look different for some of these settings
So is it still worth it to get a big poly for producers who make beats or better to get a orchestra of these great mono's everywhere?
I like working within limitation so sometimes I’ll create big poly sounds by layering multiple takes of a mono synth. But at the end of the day mono synths and poly synths are like apples and oranges to me.
does anybody use this with a keyboard? I'd watch that
Hard on the fence between this thing and moog mother 32

is it possible to trigger the sequencer externally. would rather do this than use it as a sound module
Yes, you can sync the Manther to an external clock and the sequencer has a 1v/oct and gate outputs.
Daniel Dehaan can the Manther sequence external gear, such as a Behringer Model D?
At the moment the Manther can only sequence external gear that supports CV and Gate input. Sound's like Malekko has plans for adding more MIDI input and output features in future firmware updates. So maybe someday?
29:45 = NES Metroid 🙂
It's like a better Roland SH-101 I guess.
Anyone know the dimensions of this thing? Not listed on website :(
Hi Munro music, it is 14" x 9.5" x 5". Listed on the product's webpage under "Additional Information."
malekkoheavyindustry.com/product/manther/
Daniel Dehaan so it’s 5 inches tall? That must be wrong. Surely that’s the packaging size
@@MUNRO13 actually it's true they're surprisingly tall
For me it's all too small. Made for children's hands. The seize of the display is a joke.
Actually, the real joke here is your comment! 🤣
