Due to organic brain damage from their prenatal exposure to alcohol, adolescents with FASDs often have problems distinguishing right from wrong and taking into consideration the consequences of their actions. In the documentary film 'Moment to Moment: Teens Growing Up with FASDs' Dr. Ira J. Chasnoff goes into detail about how changes in the brain can effect decision making and how this can lead to problems with the law.
In this video, adoptive mothers Patty Russo and Carole Hurley talk about their children's issues with decision-making, morality, and behavior.
