Those people didn't have that stature. Our technicians and also actors are of not that stature. We are very melody loving state. That's why love stories get success here which have good melodious songs. Our stories didn't bother to go out of our culture. And not being creative and dubbing popular films have destroyed our industry. New age directors and actors are doing great job reviving the Kannada-ness of this industry. But it's becoming more of Coastal thing. But i admire Nonetheless. We have way more road to cover.

Police Story was a big hit in Telugu states in 90's and after that Telugu film industry purposefully stopped screening of kannada movies after massive success of Police Story. Even they troubled during release of Robert movie recently. Since Telugu movies revenue is big in KA, they allowed Robert movie and that too gave few theatres only. Tamil Nadu always possessive about their film industry and they don't allow kannada movies because of Cauvery issue. There was a movie called Kokila which ran 25 weeks in chennai in 70's itself.

I never got to know the exact box-office collection of Jogi, Mungaru male, Jackie, Milana, Dhrishya Rangitaranga etc. Only from Mr & Mrs. Ramachari, Rajakumara were few films we heard about box-office news… this needs to change…
If movie tickets rate is Rs. 500 then it is easy to achieve the numbers. We were charging Rs. 20 to Rs. 50. Kannada movies were made then keeping quality in mind and not money. There will never be versatile actor like Dr. Rajkumar in the Indian Film Industry. Many legends have accepted this fact. Check with your own Bramhanandamji about Dr. Rajkumar, he will educate you. I never got to know the exact box-office collection of Jogi, Mungaru male, Jackie, Milana, Dhrishya Rangitaranga etc. Only from Mr & Mrs. Ramachari, Rajakumara were few films we heard about box-office news… this needs to change…
If movie tickets rate is Rs. 500 then it is easy to achieve the numbers. We were charging Rs. 20 to Rs. 50.
Kannada movies were made then keeping quality in mind and not money.
