    Another great video I especially enjoy the videos with luthiers ,very important to find a good luthier and develop a good relationship with.

      Yes, it was so good in person. It's one of my all-time favourite instruments and it suits Magnus' style perfectly.

    I’m starting playing a double bass, just for fun, after retiring from work. This process of crafting and building this huge instrument is fascinating. Excellent video.

    Excellent video! What's your opinion on a 5 string upright against a 4 string. Is a five string good for playing Jazz music?

      I dont know any jazz bass player that prefer the five string in a jazz setting, i dont think the b-string will cut through with ordinary pizz.

      I agree that 5 strings with low B are very rare in jazz. I much prefer a 4 string double bass for jazz. For orchestral playing they are a great option, especially if they have a good set up.

      5 strings with a high C for jazz, not so common but it's a thing.

      There's a Seattle player E-C tuned. I think mostly you have to have the hands and the bass has to be set up.
