Beautiful basses, fantastic craftsmanship and thank you for the video and hope you do more like this. Maybe next time she can show you her process of making a custom double bass from start to finish.
I’m starting playing a double bass, just for fun, after retiring from work. This process of crafting and building this huge instrument is fascinating. Excellent video.
I agree that 5 strings with low B are very rare in jazz. I much prefer a 4 string double bass for jazz. For orchestral playing they are a great option, especially if they have a good set up.
Thank you so much DDB for visiting and sharing the exciting first days of this instrument's life with us!
Fantastisk, great double bass build Elinore and beautiful playing Magnus!

Beautiful playing by Magnus on this fantastic Instrument!
I watched the video on my cell phone and without headphones and even so the instrument sounded incredibly wonderful.🤯
Great video! Love seeing more luthiers on this channel.
That's great, I'm glad you enjoyed it. We've got more to come!
Wonderful interview. And that sound!!!!
Thank you. I couldn’t believe how it sounded after only 9 days. Magnus is a lucky man!
Sharing right now to my Brazilian audience! Another great video! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing! We appreciate it. :-)

That's great to hear. Congrats on your retirement and enjoy the journey with your double bass! It's a wonderful thing. :-)
Wow. Beautiful tone on that bass and the wide grain on the top looks amazing.
Yes, it was so good in person. It's one of my all-time favourite instruments and it suits Magnus' style perfectly.
Excellent video! What's your opinion on a 5 string upright against a 4 string. Is a five string good for playing Jazz music?
I dont know any jazz bass player that prefer the five string in a jazz setting, i dont think the b-string will cut through with ordinary pizz.

5 strings with a high C for jazz, not so common but it's a thing.
There's a Seattle player E-C tuned. I think mostly you have to have the hands and the bass has to be set up.
