      @@MandolinSecrets It's tricky, but perhaps we should point out that you need to pick with a downstroke to get the harmonic to ring. Initially, I was using upstrokes, which didn't work.

      I´m glad to hear that Audrey. Very useful, a bit of a clarinet sound to the mando. :-) You play clarinet right?

      Hello Matthew - I am playing this in standard mandolin tuning, which is GDAE (low string to high string). Hope that helps!

    Hi Magnus., I've been following your videos that you share on reddit. Your information is excellent but after a half dozen or so videos on concepts (arpeggios over chord changes, harmonics, etc) I haven't been drawn into you and your playing yet. You are clearly accomplished but the careful delivery is an obstacle to your personality. I am thinking the English is a second language so I have much respect for the effort but I encourage you to find yourself an present more of that in these videos. You are getting a lot of things right in these videos (technically speaking - lighting, set. audio quality) and you are very concise and polite however, your personality as a player would go a long way to extending the reach of your videos. I don't need to know what you had for lunch but I'd be interested to know what has inspired you or informed your musical development.

      Thanks for your input Imrecorders! You want my peronality and my own playing to take more place in my videos, do I get it right? I´m all up for that!

      @@MandolinSecrets it may or may not be easy to do. Explaining a G7 arpeggio is fairly straight forward. Beyond that, there is a way that you like to approach a G7 arpeggio, or furthermore, how you like to extend it or other personal techniques that excite you to play and explore. It doesn't need to be a full-on "how to play like Magnus" approach. Even the way you approach or work around your own technical challenges that you face. Problem solving is unique from player to player.
      Good luck!

    Enjoyed this! But, careful with your headstock!

    • @MandolinSecrets
      @MandolinSecrets  4 года назад

      Thanks Mike! I´m glad to hear that. I´m not quite sure about the headstock thing... You have to keep in mind I´m not native in English, so irony just pass me by, (if that´s the case) :-)

      Magnus Zetterlund I was just commenting about you hitting your mandolin with the album cover.
