That´s a beautiful project as a Christmas gift. It requires accurancy and skills. Thank you for sharing. Thanks to MicroJig and Pearl for sponsoring the show.
Making board games is a lot of fun and they make great gifts. Let me know if you have any ideas for future game projects!
Steve Ramsey Chinese checkers
snakes n ladder with a twist :d
what about qwirkle?
with some sort of box instead of the typical drawstring bag
A vertical/tilted "Chutes and Ladders" would be *really* cool. Have each field be a small bowl for a marble to rest in, have the ladders be either ladders or some lifting mechanism (more complicated, but kids will love it), and the chutes be, well, chutes for the marbles to fall down.
I love your old truck. It's a treasure. The game is really neat, too. And I like the idea that it's self contained. The woods are pretty, too.
I love this project, Steve. One of my best friends LOVES games of all kinds. I was struggling for a xmas gift idea for him...let me emphasize....WAS. This is PERFECT!! Thanks a million for sharing Bill's game idea!!!
As a fan and subscriber of yours, It was a really nice surprise to see Pearl (where I work) sponsoring you :) Great build! I've been wanting to try my hand at building some games...
Nice job Steve! You can probably find these games at a yard sale and use the pins and beads from them to make a new game, but the acrylic looks great. Thanks for all you do.
I just happened to watch an old video of yours for a gift box recently. Love how you adapted the same style for a new purpose.
That looks a like a fun game to build and play with family over the weekend
Thank you, Steve. I remember you saying in a Q and A video a while back that you sometimes felt limited to doing less complex or complicated projects. While I think you kept things simple and easy-to-follow I think the results of this project came out looking absolutely incredible. Some real top notch craftsmanship that even the most advanced woodworker can appreciate. I think you are better at this than you realize.
Hey that's pretty cool. The reversing camera is also pretty slick
Really cool technique of cutting/separating the wood to make the lid and bottom all fit together snug. I'll definitely be trying that sometime. Thanks
Good advertisement, I might actually buy this one.
pretty classy game! love the oak and walnut combo. also like that rear cam. great gift idea too.
Never heard of this game before, but I already love it. Another great project video, Steve!
Hi I'm jose I'm 12 years old and I've watched all of your videos ,videos like this inspire me to make my own projects although i don't have exotic woods like you
Steve, congratulations on creating great content week after week. Norm A would be impressed!
We see you on camera building the projects but what is not shown is a lot of prep, shooting, editing and dozens of other tasks that have to occur in order for you to bring these vids to us.
Thanks for all the great work. I hope it's working out great for you. Looking forward to watching many more to come.
Cheers,
Steven
I don't know why I still never expect your micro jig plug every time I watch a new episode
Love this game. I'd been planning a version of my own, but hadn't considered making the pins removable like that. Great project.
Fun project, Steve! I like the decorative touch that the inlay adds.
Always look forward to the game builds. This is a winner!
GREAT project Steve. Just in time for a personal XMAS gift. I am going to make this for my buddy to put in his 5th wheel.
I have to wrap my mind around the 3rd cut "perfect fit" box lid. Will give it a try.
I love this! Going to make it as a Christmas gift for my mum! Love from England!
Cool. Thanks Liam!
Love the wood game projects!
Outstanding Steve, fantastic !!!
Steve, you did it again! Great project.
I really like the making of the box.!!
Thanks Francisco!
Steve I don't care what they say, you are a very good woodworker! Ha Ha! Honest you are a very good woodworker. This project is beautiful and everyone likes games, especially hands on physical type board games. Great video! Happy Holidays! Thankz
Great job Steve u did it again
This looks so pretty. I'm pretty sure if I made it I would use a hot glue gun, pre-cut dowels, and a pre-cut plywood square, and pre-dyed beads. But you have inspired me to attempt woodworking one day. (Or at least learn the basics!) Thanks for sharing!
What a clever way to make the lid and box fit together so well! :-)
Really cool Steve!
Oak inlays? Extra fancy!
Mark Chance. I am 77 years old and have an original Score Four game still in the box and I have had it for over 40 years. It is identical to the one illustrated in the vid except the base is plastic, the pins are heavy, chromed wire and the beads are wooden and identical to the ones in the video.
Great job!
Thank you Sir!
Such a cool game! Thanks for the build, I think I'm going to make this one
Thanks Nick!
Awesome project!
Cool game and job well done building it.
muy recreativo , gracias por tus videos son muy inspiradores
This is pretty cool, looks fun! Hope you had a good thanksgiving! 🤓👍🏼
Really nice work
I loved this game growing up! Totally forgot about it!
Awesome and creative
Nice project!

Now that is a cool game. Thanks
that turned out great
This game looks fun!!
love your videos
Very cool game or gift!
cool idea!!!!
very beautiful made
Nice gadget at the end of the video!
Nice one. Enjoy your vids over here in the UK, almost like a religion. Thanks again.
YOU AS ALWAYS well DONE!
Chamfer both ends of the acrylic to make it easier to put in the holes. It also makes the beads go on easier.
Woo, Red Mahogany 225! Love that stuff. Looks great on *everything*
(I may also use it as salad dressing)
like the added lid very nice.....and i did find a plastic distributer in Anaheim gonna get the plastic rod and some 1/4 or 3/8 clear sheets for my other project...
+William Wilson Thanks Bill. You always have the most awesome game ideas!
Looks like fun Steve
Класс)) у Вас золотые руки)
nice win
nice build, having more contrast between the bead color and the base would make it easier to see the game play.
Great game
Nice
Hey Steve! I am 16 and have been watching your videos for years and they are truly inspiring. I have even tried to replicate some of your projects. You are an awesome woodworker and a pretty talented video editor too! Keep up the good work!
P.S. I love old trucks and was wondering what kind of truck you have?
I like... I may make a version of it some time...
best I ever seen
Hi Steve
How are you?
Your project are amazing.
Congratulations
I LOVE this game/idea however the gap between the posts is a little large in this maybe? makes it hard to see the diagonals. Going to try making one with a smaller gap
Hey that's a pretty cool Game I think I will build one too (or more) it's a nice Gift too
by the way.... smart Idea to make Lid and Box out of one Piece
Great project idea but I think I would put a couple of latches on that lid so everything will stay together while you are carrying it.
"......Cool project Señor Steve......!"
Make a basics video about safety like dust, hearing, eyes. Please
Good idea!
Thank you and I love your channel, every Friday I am waiting by my phone to watch your video. So great job
You sound sick? Great video though! Christmas idea!
Additionally, backup cameras are cool and all, but my mom recently scraped her brand new car against a retaining wall by relying on a backup camera. I'm a former truck driver, so I'm way more into using my mirrors for backing up. They are always reliable.
Really nice build and a nice game for the winter time. Well done Steve!
I love your videos. I was wondering when you made the bed platform, what router bit did you use to round over the drawer fronts, was it a half or a 3/4 round Over? Thanks and keep making great videos. Can you do a video on making a cribbage board maybe with the slide for the pieces on the back maybe. Thanks again for great videos.
i love this projet. good job and i think i do for chrismas. soory for my english. i am french and i try to do my best to write ...
Thank you for watching. I'm glad you like the project!
wow steve, nice! The chesspieces next? just kidding, love from Belgium!
I think a photo transfer on the inside of the lid with the rules would be cool.
Neat game. I loved the bit about the back up camera. Long been wishing my van had one after driving a friends new car. :P My car is a 1993 (almost wrote 1883 :P ) though. Is that too old? :D - Heidi
would that work on your truck too? I am going to look into the PEARL Camera, except I wonder if I could mount it on the front license plate, and record the footage?
I got here from your website!
Early access!
Did / Does the tape used to hold the spacer in place alter your measurements?
Wow that tuition is out of control.
Ug...tell me about it. It consumes my life.
instead of using wood beads could I use black & green pitted olives? They already have the hole and you can eat them while you play.
What kind of spray paint can sprayer do you use every single one I have used sucks
steve, love all you do,
plus you have a really cool first name.
june and steve in beaumont cally
Damn I need to get one of those license platw things!
you should make a nutcracker that can also crack nuts for Christmas so it is one of a kind
What table saw do you have?
By chance do you have a video on your router table?
groovy
Did we ever get the tour of the bathroom Steve remodelled?
could you do a follow up on the lid I think I understand how it works but I am not quite sure anyhow great video as always
Here's a really old, poor quality video that might help: ruclips.net/video/osOXOZIVOv8/видео.html
Steve Ramsey this link you posted did not work. What is the name of the video for more on the info of the lid?
thanks I get it now👍
it worked fore me it's called a small wooden gift box
Daan.Z.bloedjes Thx
What about checkers but the checker pieces are youtube creaters logo
That truck is older than you!
sure? :-D
Mitsubishi FTW!
Hey!! Could you please do a shou sugi ban video‽ Thanks!!
So 'that's' young Steve...*short snicker jk good video :)
can you try and make a Domino Table check those out.
at least you could've made the pins out of wood!
