The whole idea that you can’t criticize someone who’s in there 80s for being proven wrong blows my mind. Like old people aren’t allowed to be held accountable when they’re wrong? Lou called out the toughness of Ohio state and directly called out day for not winning big games. For Day to go into south bend a top ten match up and win on a game winning drive Is very impressive. I think his reaction was great and it’s just added motivation for his team. I don’t think it’s funny when a man shows raw emotion like that. To me it shows he cares and wants to stick up for his team and himself. I respect it and I know not everyone will agree but I liked it.

OSU loses to the nati champ Georgia by 1 in the semi last year, is 18-4 against Michigan since 2000, had a redemption game beating Clemson after losing to them twice in years prior, and is 1-1 against Bama in their last two meetings. And up until extremely recently they’ve owned Michigan. Lou Holtz is always good for his share of crankshaft statements about rivals and other football teams in general. Is Ryan Day perhaps a tad defensive sounding lol? Yeah. But still they’ve had plenty of success and also beat Notre Dame even though it was a boring offensively impotent squeakfest. Ryan Day is a crybaby. His reaction to Holtz's comments show that he knew his job was on the line and he felt the pressure. OSU matched or just beat the point spread. OSU, not ND, was favored to win the game Saturday night. Ryan Day had to be sweating bullets during the entire game.
Lou Holtz's comments were fodder for the Roman circus atmosphere that is College Football. They are meant to entertain the crowds. ESPN loves Lou and his comments because they fill the void that would be in space-time continuum and the increase their ratings. His comments did not help OSU defeat ND. ND made bad coaching decisions in the last 4.5 minutes of the game. That's what cost ND the game. I'm confident that MF & Co will learn from their mistakes and move on.
What will Ryan Day say when Michigan beats them? "The spirit of Bo Schembechler disrespected his team!" OSU is playing Michigan in Ann Arbor this year on Thanksgiving week.

Coin flip of a game. I don't think you can claim it was stolen when OSU had a dropped TD pass and turned the ball over on downs on the 1yd line earlier. OSU was mentally and physically tougher especially down the stretch. Coach Holtz was just the straw that broke the camel's back. In Coach Day's shoes what do you expect him to do when he gets criticized? He acknowledged the issues of the past and defended his team. This sort of video makes me appreciate the more unbiased take that Joel Klatt brings.

Horrible take by Patrick. Days objection to Holtz comments were because when initially discussing the game Holtz said he thinks ND is a better team then OState, which nobody would be mad that he said that, but when he started talking about Ohio States recent losses and the notion they are soft and not physical he didn't say Ohio State he said Ryan Day. So I think Day took it as him saying he was soft and his team took after him, so that's why he let loose after the game because Holtz personally attacked him

No one is questioning the toughness or talent of those players. We all know OSU players are top talent and toughness year after year. Its the outcome and same old song and dance from Ryan Day teams that are in question. I watched the game, and its the same thing as always. Cant stop the run, D cant get off the field. Then its same old red zone woes for the past 4 years. Thats the question, why is it like this every year with different players? Coaching is questioned not the players. I know if Saban was coaching this talent they'd be playing for a naty every year. I'm a buckeyes fan, and thats our concern.

Bad calls happened the possession before 3-19… when notre dame easily could have ran the clock out and left Ohio state with no timeouts with like 30 seconds left probably, and that’s if notre dame didn’t get another first down with estime, notre dame OC literally gave the game to Ohio state. That’s why Ohio state was lucky. If you replay the last 3 minutes of that game notre dame wins 95% of the time. The 3-19 was luck. 10 players on the field was luck. That’s why the whole country is trashing Ohio State because they probably shouldn’t have won. I promise you if notre dame wins the rest of the games on their schedule and there’s only 3 undefeated teams at the most, the committee will rematch Ohio state and notre dame because the win was BS

As an Ohio State fan, I do think Day is sensitive. Never liked the excuses he made after losses. For example: the first playoff game against Clemson, he kept talking about getting shafted by the refs. This was on set with Fox Commentators. Then, he's made other excuses since. I don't like that. Never have. I think he's full of it. He's not the offensive guru that people think. His teams have struggled with short yardage situations. It's all on him. Then he has the audacity to question where the "soft" narrative originated. Well, he needs to look internally. The Football program's mantra for the year is Love Conquers All. And he wonders why the rest of CFB think Ohio State is soft? Please.
