- The voyage data recorder of the Singapore-flagged container ship Dali will play a significant role in the investigation into the Baltimore bridge accident. The Francis Scott Key Bridge had collapsed on Mar 26 after being struck by the vessel, sending vehicles and people plunging into the harbour below. The recorder could offer crucial clues in the lead up to the fatal event. It is equivalent to the “black box” found on aircraft, and is capable of withstanding heavy weather, collisions, fires and pressure conditions. CNA takes a closer look at the device.
