My mom died I was 13 she was 43 I played this song over and over and over. Today just like yesterday the same brings back every memory every thought. So many beautiful songs Back from the early seventies I wouldn't trade that time that's home.
Beautiful.I’ve heard this voice on the radio as a very young kid. At 53 years of age growing up as a metal head I discovered Carole King. My God this is perfection. Carole is beautiful.
After all these years, Carole looks and sounds great. No wonder she garnered a string of gold and platinum records. I love her songs now as much as I did when she recorded them.
When I was young living in a foster home it was Carole King and Carly Simon that got me through the mental torture of living where I knew I was not loved. I would love to be able to say thank you to Carol King and Carly Simon they help me keep my sanity just listening to the songs
I'm 9K miles "far and away" from my first love and we've been married for 35 years. She's a volunteer OB/Gyn Doctor at an African Hospital and I'm here in COVID covered America trying to raise funds so she can continue to save women and children lives. So this song touches my heart and soul today. Missing you babe, will be home in 10 days "but you're so far away"
Treasure this woman, my friends... Thank her for the INCREDIBLE songs she gave us... She made our world a better place for eternity. There aren't many finer and sadder and more poignant songs than this one...
It's sad to see time pass, wholesome people like this reach an age where they're not longer relevant to the young crowds. I for one, will play her music until the day I die, & I'll educate people and introduce them to her music. She was a standard in music, she deserves to live on forever. Beautiful music.
@@oliviamartini9700 haha yes I'm sure although she was completely butchered about the first time her husband ran off but I'm sure after the heart break settled down she had a slice of the world hehe I know she was madly in love with that song producer who co wrote her songs she had gotten pregnant and married early on at like 18-19
Saw her live here in Oz a few years back with James Taylor - she is really just something else. What a songwriter, what a musician and what a performer?
Gosh you make me so jealous!! I yearn to see her perform LIVE but she’s SO FAR AWAY from the Little Red Dot 🥲🥲 especially during this pandemic 😷 So I guess I just have to keep watching her play and sing, even though it’s already 50 years on… and I never get tired of these few fav songs on Tapestry!! ❤️🌹🌹
Do you live in Oz? How has it changed from when the Wizard left the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion in charge? I'll bet taxes in the Land of Oz went up to fund witches flying broom missile defense.
I love you Carole. Thank you for shaping my life. To your audio team, please send us the non-pitch corrected version: you're taking the beautiful humanity away.
Amazes me that while I mostly listen to hardcore/metal/punk/hiphop and so much more how songs from Carole King puts me in another zone that I truly love and love to be a part of.
Most of us have had at least one good friend who had to move away due to circumstances and left us with a feeling of loss in our lives for quite some time. This song strikes that sentimental chord deep within us...

Am now on A Binge with Carole,, cannot stop listening to her, it's just one of those day's, when you need to Recall when all was Good. These were the Best Times,, however so many of us did not know it,, a more Peaceful and Loving Time, No one can ever take Great Memories Away However,, Thanks to all who make these Video's all possible,, along with Love and Peace to All!! 5/11/19
Carole King’s “So Far Away” (1971) was the fourth single from her cult classic “Tapestry” LP (1971), for which she authored or co-authored each and every track, ushering in the singer-songwriter genre. Songsmith Seth Swirsky stated : “She needed to get her own thing going. And it turned out to be AN ALBUM THAT HIT EVERYBODY, what they were thinking and feeling, right at that moment. America in the ‘60s, everybody was moving away to San Francisco, and flowers in their hair, and it was tumultuous. But here it was a Tapestry of home again.” “So Far Away” was a favorite of Amy Winehouse. Her funeral service (July 26, 2011) ended with a moving rendition of the piece by the mourners. 💙🎼💚 Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed will you remain, Amy Jade Winehouse (1983 - 2011)… 🌹
Carole King is a national treasure. There's no one like her.

I have sons who were in foster homes before they came to us, and they are loved. I hope that you now feel loved.
I can’t get enough of this song!!! I just can’t. Love love love it!
Me too.
What is sad about this song is the relationship between Carole and James Taylor that strayed.
Me 3, it's on one of the best albums ever made as well, 1 great song after another. Please if you haven't listened to it, please do.
Me too, my mom loved her. She wrote Natural Woman which Aretha Franklin killed the song singing it ❤

It does leave this sadness in my heart like a hole but in a beautiful way because it feels like this song is entangled with life itself it's so real
One of the Greats. I love this song.❤❤❤❤
Her melodies are so rich and visceral they touch your spirit.
I really enjoy this song. It just makes me want to sit on the porch watching the sunrise.
Who would cheat on this beautiful genius? Sad she went through that she’s such a special gift you can just see it radiates off her
She had affairs too. Musicians then were free spirits, esp when collaborating!

Never would be a musician so complete and emotional as her.
FEELING NOSTALGIC:; I really needed to hear this song..
We need to thank her for so many beautiful songs!

One of the best songs & singing voices you will ever hear. They just don't do it like this anymore!

Ha. I did wonder if anyone else had noticed. I agree with you; it's the non perfect voice, rich with experience, that moves us.

Yes, she is great. Greatings from Canary Islands.
Trails End yes. Definitely. That’s impressive!
It's unbelievable! This song is so perfect
Because it has autotune
She's in my top 10 of lady singers
Dedicated to my best friend, my brother 🥹 my first and true love and my mum ... so far away but still in my heart 💔 rip o miss you all every day
Those pipes, still immaculately tuned.
She sounds like it’s still is 1971 when it was released! My favorite song of hers!
She still sounds absolutely phenomenal
I miss this song.. Males me cry remembering those good old days even though I wasn't born yet when this song was first released in 1970.
The favorite song of the wonderful Amy Winehouse. I perfectly understand why. Wonderful. ❤️
Love Carol King ❤
Singer someone that can play their own beat and sing their own song like this but only a real singer can give you a hundred percent like she can
