To keep the EMV unit working with the aftermarket head unit there are two options. Firstly you can purchase a Beatsonic adapter however they're overpriced and take some time to arrive. Secondly which is what I went for is a resistor mod, this is where you place a 120ohm 1WATT resistor in one of the leftover plugs from the loom behind the headunit. This method bypasses the EMV safety feature and allows the two units to work in harmony. The info is a tad bit too late but if you ever want to revert these are your options. Keep up with the content and please film everything when possible whilst removing trim pieces as its great to see where all the clips and screws are for reference. If the wrecked 110 still has its stock air box, could you please reply with the owners social so i can contact him? As for the blown Diff a 86 diff is a straight swap. Cheers!
Yeah I considered beatsonic, but the screen was actually dead! Resistor would have been a good idea! I will try add in as much as I can always! I ended up getting another torsen 3:7 LSD I was lucky that my mechanic had one. I’m actually going to be building a cusco 1.5way with my old open diff
Great info! Do you know what's needed if car doesn't have screen at all to install one? I'm not sure if it never came with the screen as the interior is changed from beige to black. Do I need DVD unit and everything (as it's the case with Nissans)? I have slot in glove box where DVD is supposed to be but no DVD unit is actually installed. In case that car didn't came with screen at all, would it still have connectors? Thanks
code111japan thanks heaps! If you have a DVD player in the glove box, I’d probably say it would have had an EMV screen as the DVD player runs the maps! In saying this, the connectors at the rear of the unit are different for emv and non emv, only thing that’s the same between both units is for the a/c control, they plug straight into both! In my opinion if you currently don’t have a screen, I’d opt for the non emv just so you know it will all work
@@mickosjzx Thanks for quick reply! I was just wondering if @ JUZILLA has some info about it since he mentioned already about resistor mod. I don't actually have DVD unit, but just slot where the unit would be since the interior is changed. Car is actually Fortuna Yamaha Power so I think it's a high probability it had a screen. I'm just wondering what I need to convert to EMV since now I have basic A/C unit with no big screen. I know that maps are being read through DVD, but I don't need those outdated maps anyway so I'm wondering if other functions will work without the unit or I need unit as well. For example in G35's / V35 skyline, screen will not work alltogether without DVD unit. Are there any cool and usable functions on that screen anyway? When you say connectors are different, but A/C connector will plug in both. Is there anything else on non EMV unit to plug in anyway? I currently have pretty much identical unit to what you installed, except the backlight is red.
Hey mate at 8:21 you mentioned "there were actually 2 bolts in there" - do you have any pictures of where the 2 bolts were as i'm looking at doing the same thing
how do u get the door cards off? cant find any info, need to fix my window regulator only screws i seem to find are 1 in the handle/lock area hidden, and one hidden in the jam also when door is open
I’m going the other way with mine Keeping the factory headunit And installing a Bluetooth adapter in the back So I can still run the screen As I just converted it to Australian maps and English

Did you get around to taking out the CD changer and Nav stuff out of the glove box and the trunk?

Yeah well worth it man! Best decision me ditching the screen
