Black Box Thinking goes hand in hand with what you always refer to,.... that life is one big experiment... googles, lab coat etc BUT... This book with your help ... ties it all together in a MAJOR way... TY TY TY my friend

Great video! I will give you another angle into this talent/putting in the work thinking. My teachers, specifically my art teachers, would tell my parents that I was gifted and that I should pursue a career in art. Why? Because back in kindergarten, when other children would be drawing stick figures for people, I drew them 3 dimensional at the age of 5. So, I put in the work and got even better in it. But, there were times that I would not be working at it and you know what happened Brian? I learned that if you do not keep on pushing forward, you slide backwards because nobody stays in 1 place forever. My artwork was getting worse, so it became very clear to me that no matter who you are, in order to master something, you must be willing to put in tons of work and if you fall in the process, just pick yourself up and keep going.

    Hi Brian,
At the end of the video you mentioned you want to start the class business 101.
Would you consider doing the book ReWork by Jason Fried and David Heineheimer Hansson?
I just finished this book today, it's a quick read but has tremendous value!
Big fan of your videos. I watch them on a daily basis! Thanks for the impact you had on my life in the past months!

Amazing video and one of the best educational/motivational videos I've ever seen. Just one question; If I read Black Box Thinking, is it still necessary to read Bounce? Or should I just read both? I want to get the audiobook but the voice in the sample sounds so boring. If only it was read by Brian Johnson or Matthew Syed himself!

      Thanks, Wali! I loved both!!

Also would you be able to do a 4 minute video on why individuals should take their learning and development into their own hands? ie 'career as your asset' mindset. Or could you recommend such a video as I am a L&D Officer and have been asked to find something to show my colleagues as we are encouraging people to take more responsibility for their own learning and career development?

    Hey Brian,
regarding the pre-mortem. Its very similar to Charlie Munger's Inversion principle.
I brought up this idea a few times in mastermind group, but its always shut down by those who are from different school of thought. Plan for the positive, aim at where the puck is going to be.
Is this a clear cut cognitive dissonance? or is there a way to reconcile the two differing ideas together?

Hi Brian, if you're interested in reading more on Marginal Gains & Team Sky/British Cycling success, one of Dave Brailsford's coach's wrote a book called Project Rainbow (www.amazon.co.uk/Project-Rainbow-British-Cycling-Reached/dp/0571303498), detailing the story behind Mark Cavendish winning the world championships in 2011. It's a bit jargon-y for a non-fan, but there are some great nuggets in there about goals, planning, motivation etc
