not so much mind resistant it's bullet resistance and explosives resistance specially since we've already had a couple of terrorist attacks or attempts at the New York City very useful. also saves money rather than having one custom built just get one from the military.
If NYPD wants a Tactical vehicle that can be intimidating the MaxxPro is not the vehicle to do it in...the MATV would've been better suited for the mission as its smaller and capable of maneuvering around the city. hell....Just use an M1165 Heavy Armored HMWWV
@@SpontaneityJD Me being a retired/disabled combat veteran who taught soldiers on this vehicle? no. Its not intimidating. why would it be. the best this vehicle can do is run over cars and break walls if done correctly. You can disable that truck very easily. It has run flats the tires can take but so many rounds to it that you can render that vehicle immovable. Has a hatch on top of the vehicle that can be opened from the outside. There are 3 switches on the outside of the vehicle that can auto open the vehicle. Even chimps can operate that vehicle without issues. So no its not intimidating...Whats intimidating is watching an M1 Abrams which I operated for 17yrs run through the streets and pushing everything to the side like nothing can stop it. People whould be more intimidated if an M3A3 Bradley IFV or M1A2 Abrams was in the city. then you got something to be intimidated about....SMDH...Matchbox trucks dont scare me at all...
Seems a tad overkill, armoured SUVs are a thing. Unless your perpetrator has an RPG-7 and a 12.7mm Dshk I couldn't ever see a need for something like that. Gun crime in the US is bad but it's not fucking Mosul in 2010.
It looks cool, but that seems VERY unnecessary. Not only is it a waste of tax dollars, criminals are not armed like terrorists, and Law Enforcement do not need to be treating our neighborhoods like warzones. WTH!
I question the need for military mine resistant vehicles by police. There is nobody planting mines or IED in the streets. The police are not at war with citizens. This is just more militarization of police and a waste of tax payer money.
@@LoudlabsNYC Thats my point...You dont need a huge vehicle as the Maxpro to stop perps. If the cops cant subdue perps from their effective ranges of their pistols, then the officers dont need to be on the police force. My sister is a cop in the city. If you cant maneuver on the enemy in a 4 man fire team without a riot shield then they dont need to be officers. I can maneuver a fire team without a shield...its called situational awareness and tactical emplacement and maneuvers. Purchasing a Maxpro was a waste of money. Investing in upgrading a firing range or Shoothouse wouldve been better. If you need a truck that doest suit its purpose then there is something seriously wrong. The last time the City had a car bomb was in the fashion district and that was in 2010. that car bomb never went off. IED's? Nonexistent. Croc pots are considered anti personnel due to the composition. Cops are more worried about being shot. how about focus on the issue that needs to be addressed instead of purchasing something that is irrelevant to the environment itself. Did the NYPD Press Office tell you to say that? Using military hardware in a domestic environment is the biggest financial waste and provides zero added security for citizens.
