As a BOI I am proud to hear our story told. When I moved to LA in 1973 as a teenager. I asked some people, what are they going to do for Juneteenth and I was asked, "What's that?" I had no idea other's didn't know.
I shared this because I think everyone should know more. I especially like his statement that there is not enough participation and understanding. People only see what they want to see and I think that is really ignorant and part of America's problem. I'm praying that Jesus will continue to change it. It starts with every one of us. Amen. 🙏💕🙏💕🙏💕😌
This is a beautiful and heartwarming special. Some parts were heartbreaking. It’s history that we all need to know. Christians and Americans should watch this and learn from it. We can never forget the suffering caused by racism and slavery. We need to be like Christ, love like Christ, and live together with all people the way the Bible teaches us to do. I pray for God’s help, healing, and forgiveness in Jesus’ Name.🙏🏽❤
Thank you for airing this on TBN! As a 73-yr. old Caucasian woman, I have never fully understood the impact of what took place on Juneteenth. This was presented with dignity & respect, tracing the history back to the 1800's. It is the will of our Heavenly Father that all races come together in UNITY. Jesus prayed for the church to be in UNITY, just as He & His Heavenly Father were in unity. In my opinion, more should know the significance of "Juneteenth." The mental hospitals that were built to house the former slaves who were so abused that their minds were destroyed is heartbreaking. These people were created in the image of God, just like we all were. One race is NOT superior to another. God sees us all as SOMEONE JESUS DIED FOR. Unity among the races is a must! May we come together in the love of God and work towards that unity.
Such a beautiful presentation of Juneteenth and American History. There is so much beauty in the way God restores. This beatifully put together presentation truly gives hope to those who believe in God and humanity. God doesn't care about our diverse comments and reactions to this presentation because God will restore us to the beautiful images He created us to be. Just as God watches over the sparrows I know God watches over each of us!!! God is so Good❤️!!! God bless you all🙏🏽!!!
Hate to break it to ya, but slavery has been a part of EVERYONE'S culture at one point. You really think being freed should be a significant part of your culture DECADES after it was ended? Is that really a highlight worth holding onto?
Why would we celebrate a day of reminding black Americans their ancestors were enslaved? It's a tasteless "holiday" and something that shouldn't be celebrated.
It’s a celebration of freedom from slavery. My ancestors were enslaved in this country. This is to help celebrate them being freed so I can be free So we can always Remember where we came from so that we never get back into that situation again
It most certainly needs to be "reflected" on. The inhumane behavior and atrocities MUST be told, talked about and FELT through. Our ancestors like those of the Holocaust must NEVER be forgotten!❤
@Clean Trimmer then why are you on a Juneteenth video if you have a problem with it we celebrate to remember where we came from and to never go back to that horrible situation if you don’t like it then don’t watch videos about Juneteenth but it’s gonna go away just because you don’t like it
It is unfortunate that a country that prides itself on being established on the ideas of liberty and justice for all had to fight a war to free slaves. It is even worse that so many “Christians” owned slaves and supported the system of chattel slavery. Juneteenth commemorates when slaves in Galveston, TX were made aware that they were free. Thank God for the soldiers, but Juneteenth is about slaves experiencing their freedom 2 1/2 years after they were actually freed.
Read deuteronomy and you will get a clue about what our demise is all about and then it will reveal who your people are... You didn't give anyone anything so step down from your bigotry 😂😂😂
Juneteenth is a Texas holiday to celebrate the 250k slaves in Texas finally finding out they were free two years prior by Abraham Lincoln. Joe Biden made it a national holiday on June 17th in 2021. It's a holiday to celebrate the freeing of slaves on Jan 1st 1863.
I have been alive for 50 years and didn’t hear about this Juneteenth day until last year. Why is that? What is the point of this day? Are you insinuating we don’t know about slavery being abolished? We know that the Republican Party abolished it many years ago.
@@Pk-io6xe Basic, please. I grew up in Ohio and graduated from OSU with a degree in computer science and in all of my education I never once heard Juneteenth. You’re telling me you celebrated Juneteenth and it was basic knowledge for your entire life? Assuming you are older than 3 of course.

Shameful shooting happened 3days ago in Austin TX celebrating Juneteenth. 2 black wives and mothers dead, 14 others wounded. Can you say secondhand embarrassment 🤦🏾♀️?
How To Celebrate Juneteenth: Step 1: Remind people that it only exists because a white Union General named Gordon Granger had to go to Galveston Texas on June 19, 1865 to tell the slaves they were free because their racist southern Democrat masters conveniently forgot to tell them about the Emancipation Proclamation that had been made law by Republican President Abraham Lincoln more than 2 years prior on January 1, 1863. Step 2: Repeat Step 1 as necessary.
Not my holiday. Not a holiday for non-blacks. It’s a holiday to acknowledge the end of black slavery in the US and I’m fine with blacks celebrating the holiday the way Chinese celebrate their new year. What I get out of Juneteenth is holiday pay and I’m not complaining.
It’s a holiday for everyone. Our culture being celebrated doesn’t exclude anyone. This nation was built on the back of slaves. And your comment is actually complaining.
@@Mr.White10-65way to rewrite history. Especially coming from a culture that's famous for enslaving people to do the work. And you are right it's not just blacks. It's any enslaved people that were stolen from their home country and brought to the Americas to built off of their backs.
