- Mirror Wall documents the latest expedition from world class climber Leo Houlding and his team as they take on the imposing Mirror Wall, a 1200m vertical tower in the polar mountains of Greenland.
---------------------------------
The need for adventure resides deep in all of us.
In the case of renowned adventurer Leo Houlding, this has manifested itself in the form of world class expeditions to unclimbed peaks the world over.
‘Mirror Wall’, the debut feature film from Coldhouse Collective, follows Leo approaching his latest expedition with a reconsidered mentality and attitude.
Following the death of his close friend Sean ‘Stanley’ Leary and trying to balance potentially dangerous situations with the responsibilities of parenthood - Leo is left leading a team of determined, talented but ultimately inexperienced young guns up one of the tallest big walls in the world.

Incredible. Felt a bit wrong that it's free to watch. Lol. Top banana.
Seriously the production value on this is TOP NOTCH!
The detail shots at the darker moments of the film are brilliant. Not only in terms of aesthetics but the sheer will to keep shooting and not get bogged down by the heaviness of the burden of life on the wall--it's beyond impressive. Great, great work.
I'm sorry it's taken so long to reply, but thank you very much for such a kind comment. It was real feat of endurance shooting the film and the stills solo, but was made possible by being surrounded by an amazing team who were as committed to making the film as they were to getting to the top of the mountain. It's a real example of the team being greater than the sum of it's parts, and it was a real privilege to be a part of such an amazing expedition.
it seems to happen with younger athletes like college because theyr'e still fighting for top rankings in the sport
ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE! honestly wow. Just watched this over my breakfast and ive never been so motivated to start a day. Congrats to everyone who was involved in this amazing story.
Great adventure, as climbing should always be! Congrats to the team, climbers and filmmakers.
Haha, what! I love the comment after summiting about “I don’t think we were too risky...” and the next shot is a jump over a gap! I like to think that was for effect and wasn’t right at the edge of the face, but I’m not sure. That moment spooked me maybe more than the rock busting the bag - a foot higher it’d been a face busted.
Respect to you guys, especially the less experienced ones to take it to a new route, way exposed, weeks in the true wilderness. Kinda wonder what the ethics are of a drone to scout a route, perhaps showing that “crack” to be what it was?
Love it. Amazing adventure, climbing, filmmaking, editing, storytelling, music. Truly inspiring for mountain lovers and outdoors video makers. Thank you all for doing this and share it.
28:20 onwards, what a fantastic edit with the music, really felt that!! Loved it.
anyone know the song playing over this part?
Jake Mattix I was going to ask the same thing
I think it's "the thief" by the beach:)
Definitely my favourite film of all time - Absolutely amazing editing, amazing story especially, the last 3 minutes, perfect music, shots, timing. Can't praise this film enough. Truly touching.
Thank you so much for this Angus. :)
How do you only have 5.4k subs. This film is absolutely unreal. Never want to do this, EVER. But god $%^^ do I love watching you guys do it. Stay safe and keep making these videos!

The quality of this film is excellent. Kudos to the artist. And the adventure, well, beautifully executed. Thanks!
What an incredible existentially beautiful film....
Thanks Ben :)
Awesome. Great adventure and some amazing shots. Good piece to learn from for making my own films.
It was awesome to see, really inspiring! I hope I can do a big wall in 10y from now -- thanks guys and be safe!
Excellent video Leo, Matt, Waldo, and Joe! Solid photography, storytelling, teamwork, music, and philosophy. I enjoyed it very much.
Really surprised this has not been in the major traveling film festivals, like Reel Rock. Mountain Film or Banff.
Excellent production :)
Thank you
The trust climbers have in their equipment and anchors always amazes me. Not saying that it's wrong, but I just cant see myself having the confidence that the anchors will hold. Guess that's why I'm not a climber lol. Great video, you guys are awesome
Great film , shame Leo seemed to be back at home instead of passing on the huge joy of the freedom climbing gives us in the best and worst of places on a big wall , good on the rest of you for seeming to put up with him , be good to see Leo smile again in future. But that's just my point of view after watching the most depressing film in some time . Good of you all for the effort put in as non big wall climbers , don't be put off it can be fun.
so cool shots and music, really good adventure and film production
What an amazing film! Thank you!

Amazing group of friends, congratulations.
Inspired. Thanks guys !
Talking about being reckless while the scene is a 35x35 foot runout on the final pitch?
Awesome!
¡"Vì lo que hicieron"!.Locos,relocos,recontralocos!!!
@24:14 He seems to be using the ATC upside down? Is there a reason or is that an error?
The casual jump at 36:10 made me scream, yeeeesh!
Who can dislike this...i guess whoever have disliked are not even fit to call living organisms.
What camera and lens U used? Ho film?
Please tell me the next one is mt Thor on Baffin Island
Amazing!
the song at 26:30 is called thieves by the beach :)
The jump at 36:13 , was that necessary and safe ?
Feel like buyin some Berghaus T-shirt!
AMAZING !!!!!
Amazing truly amazing.
I found this incredibly depressing.
Seems like Leo lost all his enthusiasm for such trips after Stanley’s death. Without the old crew-Al Lee’s fun approach to storytelling, Jason Pickles sense of humour, Stanley’s good natured hype- it just isn’t the same. I felt really sorry for Leo. I just got the feeling that he didn’t want to be there. He looked really uncomfortable and lonely.
It truly is the end of an era.
They seem sooo high... No pun intended. Makes you wonder what you miss out on.
RIP Sean Leary, Legendary Alpinist!
Beautiful❤️✨
If the lead of a climbing movie doesn't say "why are we here" at one point, is it even a climbing movie?
Any way we can get a list of songs on the sound track?
www.mirrorwallfilm.com/#soundtrack-page
stunning thank you
superb!
What did it go at
looks cold.
@17:00---heavy rack, steep rock, wet jams--- why does that sound so bad?
Geez, Sadistik in the intro? Knew would be good video.
Please, does anyone know the name of the song played at 26:33?
Marcio Yuzo The Beach ~ Thieves
Took me a while to find that out :)
I wonder why someone dont make a tool for drilling like i have a tool for braking bolts lose for cars or whatever but what it is when ya hit it with a hammer it spins left or right depends on witch way you need but of u were to put a drill bit on it ...IT would work better than what there useing
One question comes to mind.......How do they poop out there? :D
this reply is 2 years late and you probably know by now, but they poop in gallon-sized ziplock bags and if they run out they just reuse them, and they keep them in a big PVC pipe
